A list of puns related to "Prohibition in the United States"
I've seen a lot of historians arguing that the crime rate didn't significantly change during Prohibition, while many peer reviewed articles are claiming that crime did change dramatically.
What is the true answer and why is there this discrepancy?
One of the most important events that people even talk about today is Prohibition, when from 1920-1933, alcohol was illegal. Since the political situation has changed, to what extent is Prohibition is different in KRTL?
I'm curious to know whether there was a widespread commutation of sentences. From what I understand, possession or drinking of alcohol wasn't enough to get you sent to prison - but what about the bootleggers, speakeasy owners, etc. who had been put behind bars?
Hey, Ents! Long-time r/trees reader, first-time poster here.
Lately I've been avidly following the legalization posts on r/trees, r/eldertrees, and other subreddits, so in anticipation of the end of cannabis prohibition I went ahead and created a map of what our progress would look like by the end of the year if all proposed marijuana bills and initiatives were to succeed in 2014.
The new map is based on these two:
Cannabis in the United States at Wikipedia
Proposed Marijuana Bills/Initiatives in 2014 from Legal Pot Coming Soon? 50-State Marijuana Law Roundup.
The key is:
Bright green: State with legal medical cannabis
Olive green: State with decriminalized cannabis possession laws
Forest green: State with both medical and decriminalization laws
Purple: State with legalized cannabis
I know it's a bit optimistic, but let's keep our fingers crossed!
PEACE!^PEACE!^PEACE!
The History of cannabis prohibition in the United States has its roots firmly planted in racism. As we move foreword as a country for legalization, itβs incredibly important to recognize this issue and make reparations within the industry.
Below I provided some resources discussing this issue, I ask that you all read at least a few of these sources and educate yourselves on what I believe is the most important issue facing our quickly growing industry.
