My parents have a Samsung TV (NU8000 series from two years ago). Is it possible to have the TV's power state be a trigger for automations or would I need an energy monitoring smart plug? If I need a smart plug, what are good options since the Samsung one is no longer available

One Power: TV Series VS Books
I know that in the books the one power is used without the waving of hands/movement. This has also caused a lot of debate with how the show has handled the portrayal of this.
I believe that the show runners understood this would be divisive at first, but included it regardless possibly as a plot point in the story.
Compare the show use of the one power, the aes sedai including Moiraine all wave their arms around and project their hands to use the one power. Compare that to the use of the one power by both Logaine and Nynaeve (first use). Logaine just stands there as the one power comes out and lashes out at the guards. It can also be seen when he restrains the king.
This further emphasises the aes sedai's belief they are the pinnacle of understanding of the one power, whereas they are thought less of by other channelers later in the series (wise ones). Instead of waving their hands around they will be standing still opposed to the aes sedai who wave their arms around, acting as a crutch.

What Representation for a Power Ranger that has Not been seen in the TV Series would You Like to See?
Since earlier today I have been thinking about what representation that a ranger has not happened in the TV series. As I happen to be autistic, I would love to see a ranger in the TV series that is on the autism spectrum. Some may say that we already have an autistic ranger, but that is only in one of the movies and not the TV Series. So that brings me back to the topic of this post which is what representation that a Power Ranger has not yet been in the TV series would you like to see.

If you were given the creative power to make your own Resident Evil TV series how would you go about it?
So I recently got done watching Resident Evil Infinite Darkness on Netflix. I was a bit disappointed in it for various reasons but one of the major things was that it was very obvious it was a movie that was split to be a TV series hence why there were only 4 episodes.
So I ask this if you were given the power to helm the creation of a true Resident Evil TV series be it animated or live action that also has a 3 season order. How would you go about it?
- What time period would it be set in(During the games, after the games, before, etc...)?
- Will the main characters be original, returning characters, or a mixture of both?
- What will be the focus of the series? Will it be more about the characters or will it be an overall focus on the world at hand.
I'd love to hear everyone's idea. I feel like there will be a lot different ideas on a tv series someone would want to see/make so that would be really interesting to read!

If you could adapt the dune series into movies or a TV series and had full power over how it would go and unlimited funding, would you change anything?
Usually, I think people who love a book series tend to prefer it to be adapted as accurately as possible. But I think it's also really fun to see adaptations as opportunities to take a good idea and make it even better. I'm sure we all have something that we wish Frank Herbert had handled differently, or maybe even entirely scrapped, and things that we wish the series focused or expanded on that it didn't.
So if you had the opportunity to adapt the original six books (or just some of them) with unlimited funding and full power, what would you do? Would you do a completely accurate adaption, or change it?
I'm especially interested in how you would go about GEoD. I feel like it would be really hard to make it a movie or TV show without it turning out like >!"the collected lectures of sad worm man"!<. And as much as I would pay to watch that, I also feel like it would be a bit of a waste of such an interesting concept.

[OoT] Idea that I know will never be made: A TV-MA Ganondorf series styled like Invincible that follows him as a freedom fighter against an oppressive Royal Family, only to show his descent into evil after being given near unlimited power.
First off, partial credit to this post for the idea.
I think that OOT Ganondorf is a character with the potential to be really interesting if viewed under the right lens. Wind Waker delves into this a bit, but I'd totally like to see a story that follows him and shows how and why he overthrew the royal family and did what he did. As the linked post says, it's very easy to see the royal family as a racist disrespectful monarchy that oppresses non-hylians, and the idea of a rebel freedom fighter group overthrowing the royal family is an interesting one, and it being helmed by Ganondorf would make perfect sense. I think it'd be interesting to watch a largely sympathetic and understandable Ganondorf slowly morph into a malevolent tyrant as the soul of Demise and the Triforce of Power corrupt him, and I do think (though Nintendo would literally never do this) that being similar to something like Invincible (which is >!a show that uses brutal violence to shock in an effective manner!<) could be neat. Like, I just like the idea of us, the viewer, being in shock at Ganondorf's descent into true evil from someone who just wanted the best for his people. This is probably all over the place but idk I just think I have a cool idea and I wanted to share it.
