A list of puns related to "Polk Audio"
Hi: Iβm upgrading from Polk Audio Monitor Series II towers. The driver is a Yamaha RX 2080 which is rated at 140W per channel for 2 channels at 8 ohms. Used for home theatre and stereo. Have a 5.1.2 setup. Iβve narrowed my choice down to the Polk Audio Reserve R700 and the Bowers & Wilkins 603 S2. I have seen positive posts about the B&Ws here already, which has tilted me toward them. Thoughts?
I just inherited a pair of Polk audio monitor 50 floor speakers (I put them on my dresser because I don't really have room for them, how bad is that to do? I think it looks pretty funny tbh). I previously had bookshelf speakers hooked up to an aiyima A07 using the included 32v 5a power supply which I had just purchased. My question is can I drive the Polk speakers without damaging them with this? I'd really rather not replace the gear I literally just bought if possible. Im willing to upgrade the power supply to 36v 10a or something as long as it's only like $30, and not one of those scary looking power supplies that look like they're going to burn down my house. Any thoughts or help would be very appreciated. The speaker specs are: Frequency response 57-24,000 Hz (-3dB) 8-ohm impedance Sensitivity 89 dB Handles up to 150 watts
Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a sweet 5.1 tower audio setup for my home theater.
Is the Denon AVR-S540BT gonna work well with the Polk audio bundle linked below?
The wattage seems to be enough, but I'm not sure what other specs I'm supposed to be looking at. Thanks! https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07TZ7T3GX/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_988CDPZX587EBVW5F9TT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
New to home listening and I inherited the LSi15 and some other polka speaker for surround sound. I am looking for just having a nice open sound for parties or if I want to sit alone and smoke and have nice experience. The only source I have for music is on my phone atm. Its kind of a bummer having to get up to change songs. I think I want a more modern 4 ohm receiver with wifi(?) or bluetooth . Or do they make an add on bluetooth component I would be better off getting? I know bluetooth will lose some quality but the option to have it at parties would make a world of difference. I have a budget of around 250.
I've looked through a lot of soundbars and these two are the ones I've decided on, due to how compact they are, I don't exactly have a lot of space to work with.
Which one do you guys think would give the better audio experience? If you have another suggestion besides those two, please let me know.
Anyone replaced all 8 speakers in a TEP with Polk audio and a 1500 watt speaker? If so, how much better was the sound
Hi All,
I'm updating my home audio.
I've got new Paradigm Atom V6 fronts:
Was thinking about getting this Polk Audio center channel:
I can't find a store that has both of these speakers, so I can't do a side-by-side listening.
Does anybody have an opinion on how the Paradigms would play next to a Polk Audio center channel?
Thanks!
Bought the polk audios from Newegg maybe 8 years ago? Haven't experienced any degradation in sound. They sound fine, but only fine. I'm looking at KEF q150, Klipsch reference premier 500, triangle bore br03, or the Dali Spektor. Or a monitor audio bronze 2 if there are any left for sale anywhere (the new bronze series don't attract me).
Would any of those upgrades provide a real, noticeable difference? They all have similar frequency response and impedance. My source is primarily Apple TV (variety of source data, from internet streaming to lossless ripped cds and Blu-Rays streamed over local network) through an older Yamaha mid-grade surround receiver (10 y.o., DD 5.1).
