English lyrics that are good, actually

We've all heard of cringey English lyrics in K-pop, and while there are some... questionable lines in certain songs (Iron man in the streets / but I'm better than Tony), I think K-pop gets an unfairly bad rep because there are genuinely good English parts.

  • I know I started this post with Wow slander, but 3RACHA have some pretty decent lyrics. Blessings wait for you from For You; Later when I become addicted to life in Placebo; I turn off my phone and I go back to sleep, no more talking in the context of Domestic Banana is pretty great, actually.
  • I know a lot of people hate it, but in ITZY's Dalla Dalla, the Keep your chin up, we got your back / Keep your head up, just keep on dreaming part always hypes me up. It's probably cheesy, but it motivates me a lot.
  • Okay, hear me out, but I really like Your dimples are illegal / So I call you illegirl from BTS's Dimple.
  • Speaking of BTS, they get a bad rep for their iffy English lyrics, but the songs they recorded for the whole BTS World thing were good, actually: Dream Glow, A Brand New Day and All Night are some of my favorites from their discography.
  • I'm gonna get so much hate for this, but... I like the lyrics to Blackpink's Ice Cream. I think it's not as bad as people make it out to be (should I have posted this on r/unpopularkpopopinions?)

... I'm going to find the Jopping copypasta in the comments, aren't I?

An 8 month old STAY talks about how she got to stan Stray Kids (affectionate)

uh, this is my first ever post on the subreddit, but hello. hi. this post is definitely nothing new to the veteran STAYs that are here, but i felt like i wanted to share my love for the boys here like some have, so.

hello, i'm 20 yrs old going 21 by march. she/they pronouns, grey-ace. i've been a KPOP fan since first half of 2013, right as the 3rd gen is on the rise. my ult group used to just be exo (est 2013)...but i tuned in to Kingdom for the 3rd gen groups and i finished the show proudly saying i'm a STAY.

i could go in perfect detail on how the boys got in my radar from 2017 onwards, but Kingdom was the turning point for me (even if it was hellish for the fandom then). around the first episode i already knew all of them because i listened to their title tracks, watched Finding SKZ season 2, and thought they were cool dudes (especially Chan, i had a really soft spot for him even before). but i was so impressed by their intro performance and i thought, "Oh my god, the 3rd gens really got some competition."

and they've never stopped impressing me up to round 2, then. to the point that i raved to my STAY friends about what i liked about their performances, that i started genuinely caring about them. heck, i only even found out they make majority of their music through the show, which i found really impressive considering they're from JYPE...and through my years as a KPOP fan, i've never had a good impression with JYP and creative control. my STAY friends kept urging me to start stanning them since i liked them so much, but i was taking a break from KPOP then and focusing on Genshin Impact, so i answered, "hm, let's see once the show ends!"

yes, i said those things. while my priv account in twitter has a profile picture of Chan's selfie in his Wolfchan suit and my display name was "CBS (Chris Bang Supporter)." yes.

i believe that my 3 turning points that pushed me to be a fan was:

  1. when Jeongin cried after their performance of I'll Be Your Man, and Chan was there to comfort him. i, of course, cursed mn*t with all my soul (because when do they ever not cause problems on purpose) but my heart felt warm seeing Chan comfort him even if the footage was likely taken without their permission. and seeing that the rest of them praised Jeongin in the backstage interview, i really felt a spark when it comes to their bond while crying. "so they're CLOSE close," i thought. safe to say the whole situation made me care for them as a group, and made me gravitate t

Appreciation for SKZ2021 (and some thoughts...)

earlier today, Stray Kids dropped SKZ2021: a compilation of some re-recorded songs, just like they had done with SKZ2020. the previous compilation focused on the old title tracks and the most popular bsides, whereas this release focused more on nicher bsides that are, however, incredibly loved and popular amongst the fandom – as well as the official digital release of Hoodie Season, a song that was previously just a ClΓ¨: Levanter album special, and of Scars - Korean Version.

what i can say is: if you haven't listened to it yet, if you don't know much about Stray Kids' earliest releases, if you're curious about how their music sounded like in the earlier stages of their career – please take your time to listen to SKZ2021. the bsides included in the compilation are, in my opinion, among the most intricate, complex and unique they have ever done: 3rd Eye, Maze Of Memories, 0325, My Side, Awaken – and it's even crazier to think about how they made good part of them even before debuting. some might even surprise you if you're used to Stray Kids' "noisy" sound! not only are these songs re-recorded without the former member in it, but their masterization has also improved: they sound incredibly polished, crisp and detailed – making for a true sonic experience.

but the cherry on top of the cake was seeing how they handled the Mixtapes. quick backstory: in their Clè 2: Yellow Wood mini album, Stray Kids included four mixtapes (from #1 to #4). however, these mixtapes weren't original releases, rather they had been previously released as album specials for every single one of their previous mini albums: Mixtape #1 for I Am Not, Mixtape #2 for I Am Who, Mixtape #3 for I Am You, and Mixtape #4 for Clè 1: MIROH. but they still weren't completely original releases: their instrumentals (and partially their melody/lyrics) all came from old 3RACHA songs (in order Placebo, Even A Shadow Needs Light To Exist, For You, Broken Compass). and the final peculiarity of these mixtapes was that every member took part in their writing/composing, meaning they each wrote and composed their verses. so, as you can imagine, re-recording them as OT8 posed a difficulty: how to handle the former member's self-written/composed lines?

the answer came today, and in some cases it was expected – in others it was surprising. in Mixtape #1, now Placebo, Han handled the ending adlibs previously done by KWJ, changing them and moving the high note a whole tone higher than the original: it previously

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Just because it's a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB

Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"

I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual

So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

r/unclejokes for dirty jokes

r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC

r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes

Punchline !

Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
