Easy Rom-temp reaction with phosphoric acid and isopropanol

1 g of CBD was desolved in a solution of approx 8 ml of 99,8% isopropanol and 2 ml 75% phosphoric acid. The solution was clear and transparent

2-3 puffs or argon winegas was sprayed in the container to expel any oxygen and minimise oxidation of the THC. The airtight lid was then closed.

The solution was stored in room temp and swirled every day for two weeks

After two weeks the clear solution had turned yellow. Aprox 100 ml of water was added and bicarbonate was added until solution was ph 7.

The THC was extracted with heptane and washed 3 times with water.

I have no idea the thc % but it got me high!

phosphoric acid (ph down) isn't improving soil ph, what other options are there?

I'm in week 7 of 12 for flowering, and my leaves all over are slowly turning yellow. My water is 6.2-6.5 going in after applying ph down (from 7.5 out of the filter), and my run off is 7.4 (with an EC of 2.4), and has been for the last 15+ waterings. What other options do I have? Aluminum sulfate powder mixed into the next watering cycle?

Has anyone used phosphoric acid for rust removal and prevention?

I have read that phosphoric acid can be used to remove rust from steel, and it forms a corrosion resistant surface of iron phosphate. I am wondering if anyone can confirm this and/or used this process on an axe restoration/cleaning.

CO2 carbonated drink with caffeine but not phosphoric acid or sodium

I'm seeking a healthier alternative to colas, without sodium or phosphoric acid, but still having caffeine and carbonation. Most caffeinated carbonated drinks seem use phosphoric acid and/or contain sodium. Is there an alternative lurking out there that I've missed?

As a related question, why do caffeinated carbonated drinks prevailingly use phosphoric acid?

Does Using a blend of phosphoric and nitric acid helps to remove rust in SS ?

Hi I am wondering if using a blend of phosphoric and nitric acid helps to remove rust in SS ? As far as I understand before starting this process the parts need to be cleaned with an alkali cleaner like PBW and afterwards cleaned with a blend of phosphoric and nitric acid but what I am wondering would this acid be enough to remove the rust ?

Aluminum Copper & Phosphoric Acid

I have this aluminum heatsink with copper pipes that's looking a bit ratty. I had a good experience in the past using phosphoric acid on an aluminum carburetor. Is there any reason not to dip this heatsink in phosphoric acid for a few minutes?

I'm a little concerned about causing any kind of insulating effect, and especially concerned about ruining the copper plate that makes contact with the chip

I'm open to any suggestions or better methods. As far as I know, other popular acids used to clean metal will leave the aluminum vulnerable to the same oxidation almost immediately, and a protective coating doesn't seem ideal here

https://i.imgur.com/wBbB4Bi.jpg

EDIT: Left the heatsink in one liter of rustoleum rust dissolver which contains some unspecified amount of phosphoric acid. Nearly an hour made no noticeable difference, left it in for several just for the sake of curiosity. Definitely not strong enough to dissolve any of the aluminum oxide, just chewed up the clean aluminum and made the copper super bright!

Does bru'n water have a tendency to overshoot on phosphoric acid additions?

So, first time using phosphoric acid in a beer. Put in my grain bill and minerals into Bru'n water, updated water additions, and it advised 7ml/gal of 10% phosphoric acid to hit a pH of 5.25. I dutifully added 31.3 mL of acid to my water, mashed in, waited 20 minutes, measured...

2.4pH.

Now my meter did get dried out over the last couple months so I have it sitting in a KCl solution hoping it jars the probe into a more... idk working state. But while I sit here and drum my fingers, wondering if I need to cut this brew day short and try again next week or if I power on through I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with this.

EDIT: The "10% Phosphoric Acid" I purchased from my LHBS is either 88% lactic acid or something like ~70% phosphoric acid, which is where the discrepancy comes from.

Where to buy phosphoric acid rust converter?

I need some rust converter (phosphoric acid) to prep some outside metal before priming it.

All the stores that I have looked at: Home Depot, Lowes, PartSource (Merivale - automotive), Canadian Tire, have tiny bottles or spray cans(!) and the contents are often not just phosphoric acid, but also include tannic acid, etc. and are quite expensive ($10+ for 276 ml)

I am looking for a source in Merivale Road area to Centretown but can travel further if necessary.

Also, for those of you who used phosphoric acid on rusty steel, how do I determine that I have not left a residue on which would interfere with primer adhesion? If the surface has not converted, what should it look like before I prime? I know that the converted rust will turn to iron phosphate

I have already rigorously sanded and brushed the loose rust off.
