HOW DOES THE βbiggest douchebag in the universeβ get his own TV series? That might sound like a trick question, but the particular douchebag being referenced is the one specifically labelled as such by writer/director James Gunn: Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker.
Known simply as The Peacemaker when created in 1966 by writer Joe Gill and artist Pat Boyette, the Chris Smith iteration didnβt appear until DC Comics bought the character in the β80s and turned him into a zealot vigilante for peace. After being used as a member of the Suicide Squad in some comic runs, it was Gunn who plucked him from the pages to join the ensemble of miscreants in his theatrical redo The Suicide Squad.
As embodied by professional wrestler/actor John Cena in the film, Peacemaker is a provincial, himbo bro-dude who follows orders to ensure peace, even if he has to kill women and children to make it happen. Technically, he is without a doubt a villain. But in the hands of Gunn and Cena, he kind of wasnβt. With major daddy issues seeded in his past (and the character revealed to have survived in a post-credits scene), Gunn knew there was plenty of story left on the table to fill an eight-hour TV series, which he agreed to write and direct for streamer HBO Max.
The man truly responsible for Gunn and Peacemakerβs transition to the small screen, however, is producer Peter Safran. He was Gunnβs first manager, and theyβve worked together since 1998. In 2006, Safran started his own company, The Safran Company, and transitioned to producing films with Warner Bros and DC. Because of their long-standing relationship, he was able to woo Gunn into DCβs waiting arms. After Disney fired Gunn as director of the third Guardians Of The Galaxy movie in 2018, Safran pitched making a new movie of The Suicide Squad to Warner Bros chairman Toby Emmerich, and the rest is history.
βIβve said before that Marvelβs loss was DCβs enormous gain and Warner Brothersβ enormous gainβ

... keep reading on reddit β‘According to the new official Handbook section 38.2.6.1:
>For record-keeping purposes, an ordinance is considered not valid if the year it was performed is missing or incorrect on the membership record. The ordinance can be validated with the original certificate that was issued when the ordinance was performed. With this certificate, the bishop can authorize a clerk to update the membership record.
>If the certificate cannot be found, the ordinance can be validated with the testimony of two people who witnessed it. The two witnesses should:
>Have been 8 years old or older when the ordinance was performed. >Have seen or heard the ordinance. >Be Church members of record at the time they give their testimony. >Give their testimony in writing, stating either (1) the complete date the ordinance was performed or (2) the year it was performed and the person who performed it. >Sign their testimony in the presence of a member of the bishopric or stake presidency.
>With this testimony, the bishop can authorize a clerk to update the membership record. The written testimony may then be discarded.
>If the certificate or witnesses cannot be found, the ordinance must be performed again.
So Joseph and Oliver claimed to have been ordained by Peter James and John with an ordination date of 1829 or 1830. The claim was made in 1833 or 1834. Apart from themselves, there are no witnesses. As we don't have the year for the Melchizedek priesthood, I don't see how we can consider this valid. Add to that the fact that they weren't church members when they were ordained, which clearly invalidates the ordinance. That in turn invalidates all other priesthood ordinations. I know it wasn't intentional, but if you read the rule as written, the church has a problem. Time to update the handbook.
I havenβt seen this asked before, so sorry if it has already. Just something I have thought from time to time.
I will post a link for coingecko in the comments. Everyone keep working hard on the social media exposure, what you can when you can. This is the power of our community that will really propel us forward. #SCROOGECOINARMY
My thoughts:
"The prayer of faith will save the sick" No it really doesn't. There are plenty of cases of people dying because they refused medicine in favor of prayer.
"Slaves, accept the authority of your masters with all deference, not only those who are kind and gentle but also those who are harsh." And again with the slavery, this time also telling people that unjust suffering is somehow good, and not something God cares to prevent.

Iβm writing a fic trying to figure out the characterization of Peter. Basically, we all know he worshipped James. But I want to know if you think itβs better to go down the route that he worshipped James in the way of respect, and the same way people worship a really famous singer. Or do you think it was more tinged in jealousy, and that Peter would have stolen his life if he had the chance. Do you think Peter genuinely cared about his friends or did he just want to get through school by skimming off the popularity of the cool kids, like Sirius later says? And I think both are realistic propositions without being Peter bashing. I like Peterβs character but I want to explore it as closely to canon as possible
Hello all,
I've always felt different to other people and I've recently felt more connected to music, technology, robotics and different systems of information than the emotions of other people. I like albums that capture this frame of mind so I can feel less lonely and because I make music of my own & work with electronics and aspire to transcend humanity in a transhumanist kind of way.
With that being said, I'm looking for some albums that are gloomy, with vocal manipulation, a bit of ambient/spacey production and some kind of experimental/futuristic/alienation/technology-focused aesthetic. For example, something like Daft Punk or Kraftwerk would not fit the bill since they have robotic vocals and the right aesthetic but their music is always upbeat dancing music rather than gloomy and moody and as a result, it's always seemed corny, gimmicky and unappealing to me. Some works that do fit the bill of what I'm describing:
I understand this is quite a niche preference/style but I'd be buzzing if anyone had any suggestions that would fit. Thanks!
Cause I know many people are dying for one like me.
