A list of puns related to "Pellet boiler"
Just wondering about how they work for you. We currently use LP baseboard heating. Which is fine, until we get our Bill and find that itβs gone up in price per gallon with no notice. Any info youβre willing to give would be so helpful. Thanks! And stay warm!
It looks like any change to renewable heating would be expensive. Adding geothermal (and adding air ducts) looks to be about 30K or so for a mid-size house. Any other renewable heat options and appropriate costs? Thanks in advance. ps My current gas boiler is functional but really old and I donβt have any air ducts.
We have a MESYS pellet boiler heating our home and domestic water. Itβs been pretty rock-solid over the years weβve had it but there are no repair shops in the area so Iβm left to solving problems on my own (the company that installed it has switched to wood pellet sales only.) Is anyone aware of a community of owners interested in sharing solutions with one another? The boiler is made by Γkofen (Austrian, I believe).
With the state offering big rebates and reasonable financing for pellet boilers, and the anti-poor-people tank inspection regime pushed for by the heating-oil companies making me hate buying oil more even than I already do, I've been looking into pellet boilers.
What are people's experiences with them? My (likely naive) spreadsheet indicates going with pellets would be cheaper (perhaps significantly) even 5 years out; does that sound reasonable? How much work is it to clean the ashes, and maintain a hopper?
So I have been thinking of getting a pellet boiler and came across these rebates. Of course I cant seem to find any prices on any of the approved models and was wondering if anyone on here has used this program or has a clue to the cost of any of these units. I can't even seem to find a ballpark range. Even Pellergy a VT company doesn't list prices.
Hi
I recently moved to a house that has a modern pellet boiler for heating the water/house. Iβm a bit of a maintenance freak and Iβm very diligent with the regular cleaning. I recently did a cleaning that Iβm supposed to do twice a year; however, since then the exhaust has been hotter than usual, hovering between 190Β° and 210Β°C(374-410Β°F),and the ash has been black and more coarse instead of grey and powdery. The temperature is within limits (auto shutoff is 300Β°C/572Β°F) but itβs usually lower and only gets that high when it needs to be cleaned. Research has led me to believe itβs an air problem causing incomplete combustion, but after investigation Iβm not sure anything I did could have brought on this issue.

Iβm not sure if pellet stones are allowed on this subreddit, though I have seen a few posts.
Because of an abundance of wood logs, I'd like to replace my old pellet boiler with a dual fuel one. All the ones I find need a large water volume. I only have one of 800l. I don't have the storage for those measurements.
I've no boiler presently, house is all electric, there is no natural gas nearby.
We're undertaking a remodel that will make running hydronic loops to about 60% of the house readily possible.
I'm looking at wood pellet boilers, everyone selling them says they're great.
What's the experience here?
We're in New England, it gets cold.
A few pictures of the set up can be found here. Essentially it is a 32kw boiler that burns wood pellets, it has an internal 60kg hopper. It fills this hopper at a set time everyday from an external 300kg hopper in the garage, this is done through a suction pipe system. Pellets are delivered on pallets either in 10kg bags or in 300kg 'dumpy' bags. Ash needs emptying every 1800kg of fuel burnt which is done by removing a small but pretty heavy box.
When looking around before it was fitted I couldn't find much information about them so I though it might be helpful to answer any questions anyone might have about what it is like living with one.
Hiya! considering a Pellet bioler and wanted to gage some feedback of people who have gone through the process..Pitfalls, Brands, incentives, types of pellets, any guidance or feedback, etc. Currently, I have an aging oil boiler that I would have as a secondary or just replace it out. I have forced hot air now, and it would be an easy install from what everyone tells me. Appreciate the feedback!
Hello!
I am a structural engineering student and right now working on two boilerhouse projects. Since my knowledge of heating and ventilation is lacking, I need your help.
Metal Fach SEG BIO 75kW pellet boiler. I can't find how much air it needs for combustion and so I don't know how many l/s of ventilation is required.
Radijator TKAN 200 200kW pellet boiler. Same question.
I hope someone knows a thing or two about pellet boilers and providing them with proper ventilation.
Thanks in advance!
So, I am trying to do some preliminary research on pellet boilers to replace my aging SunRay IV that is original to the house. I am most interested in the ΓkoFEN and the Kedel boilers. Does anyone here have any experience with these or any other pellet boilers? I know I want a big hopper and also a water heater so I don't have to have my boiler running in the summer. It would be nice to be green and off of oil, but I am mostly considering this for the cost savings over the life of the boiler.
There seems to be a new company out of Portland supporting the Kedel and a Maine Energy Systems has been supporting the ΓkoFEN.

The two of us have a 1695 house, enlarged in 1721, 1750, and then around 1910. It's about 4500 sq ft. with oil/radiator heat. The whole house was moved to a new location in 2000 with a new basement and utilities.
We have 5 heating zones which we keep at 55 degrees to prevent freezing pipes. We've adapted to that temperature in the winter by dressing warmly and using space heaters where needed. This winter we're feeling the pain of the high cost of heating oil.
We have a massive fireplace in a central room that, once going, heats up the whole big chimney stack and even the second floor surprisingly well, but this takes many hours of commitment, careful tending, and at least one of us always being here, which isn't always possible. We have an OK firewood supply, but it's just the attention and the tending-to ... horrified of a potential fire disaster.
I'm very grateful for this big (restored & safe) fireplace - especially during power outages - but, thinking about what heating this household was like hundreds of years ago, I realize servants and extended family members were pretty essential.
Hey there! Broke and need advice.
My oil furnace backfired yesterday afternoon sufficiently to shake the house. Didnβt shut down but that was a boom!
I called the oil guys and they charge $240 an hour to come out which I canβt afford.
My CO2 meter never went off. Vent pipe is firmly in place and the house is still standing. I know I need to get this looked at but is this the kind of thing a plumber can check out? Do I have alternatives to $240/hr?
Thanks for any and all advice. Because Iβm clueless and would rather not die in my sleep or blow to bits.
Hi everyone!
My wife and I are looking to install a wood stove as a secondary heat source. We are trying to heat a 1200sqft area, fairly open concept. We are trying to determine size/material we need. Weβre both shift workers and work 12 hours shifts, so we can be gone for 13-14 hours at a time. We have a primary heating source, so the house wonβt freeze if the stove dips low, but weβd love to have a relatively low maintenance stove if possible. Also, any tips and tricks that you wish you knew as a newbie would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: we currently operate on an outdoor pellet boiler with in-floor radiant heat. It keeps the house around 16-17*C but thatβs the max we can get out of it. The wood stove is for comfort and to supplement the heat source we already have! We live in Northern Ontario and -40C is not uncommon, high heating cost is an unfortunate truth for us no matter what, just trying to be comfortable while we empty our pockets.
1950s home with hot water base boards heating -boiler at end of life. No ventilation ductwork in the house. No gas on the street. π Iβm in New England so it gets cold. Too cold for geothermal?
What is up Depthians!
Another round of bug fixing, tweaks, and some additional features.
We shall explain any functions/features etc fully in the stable release, however, please feel free to ask about anything in the notes that you feel needs explaining.
We would also like to point out that we updated to unity 2020.3.22 and therefore the FTD boot-up process now begins in the launcher, and is more multi-threaded and concurrent, so it should take less time to boot the game up.FTD now uses Steam Multiplayer and the Data Relay Network. The old networking system is no longer available. Joining friends is much easier now and NAT punch through and port opening should no longer be necessary. We have fixed a number of multiplayer issues, there may be still some left so as always feel free to poke us with them on our bug tracker page https://brilliantskies.customercase.com/forums/bug-tracker
Hi all - first winter ahead with a Castle Serenity pellet stove, which I was told during the home buying process was used as the sole heat source for my 1100 sq ft home. There's also baseboard heating run on a propane-powered boiler, but the boiler is currently turned off so it's not exactly an easy back-up source (I probably need to rethink that, but that's a question for a different day).
For now, I'm wondering if anyone else uses a pellet stove as their sole heat source, and if so, what do you do to freeze-proof your home when you leave for several days during the winter? I'm trying to decide if I can keep it on with the thermostat on the stove set at something like 55 degrees, and enlist a neighbor to come by to check on it and fill the hopper every couple days? I can also get some RV antifreeze to put into my U-traps for extra precaution.
Or is it really just not feasible to leave a home for several days with a pellet stove as the sole heat? Trying to figure out if I need to bite the bullet and turn the boiler back on so that when I leave and I can just shut down the pellet stove and use the boiler to keep the pipes from freezing.
Do your worst!

I finally convinced my parents to start investing, by putting money in one of their most importent topics: climate change. With everybody (4 folks) distributing the same amount each month, the risk is reduced and the upside is increased.
We are betting that the clean energy sector will see strong support in the coming years and plan to (at least partially) finance with the hopefully good returns on those investments our own houses installation of solar roof/panels and pellet boiler.
Im aware of ICLN and own myself already a bit, but I think im willing to bet my families money on individual companies like Enphase, SolarEdge or also some chinese manufactures.
Any recommendations?

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
