A list of puns related to "Papaver rhoeas"
I've read that it can aid sleep and potentate opiates. But the literature seems sparse and anecdotal. Should I clear out the ones I have planted in my garden as it might harm the growth of the "other" poppies.

After dabbling with a bottle of Papaver Rhoeas extract, i have found a definite benefit to consuming this plant.
P. Rhoeas, also called the Corn Poppy, does not contain morphine or traditional opium-type alkaloids. Yet is still consumed for nearly the same medicinal purposes.
After researching i found that some of the pharmacological activity of resposible for Rhoeasβs benefits involve Opioid Antagonism, Dopamine Antagonism and AcetyCholine Antagonism.
While the last two will be addressed in future posts, i will focus on the former.
When opioid antagonism is provided on a consistent basis, the upregulation of and subsequently the sensitizing of endophin receptors can be inspired be administration.
This concept has been shown to be effective through trials using naloxone, and i believe Rhoeas could provide another tool similarly life-affirming. PM me if curious for article about naloxone.
I will post more about my experiences with specific doses, as i just received a large bottle of rhoeas and am about to try to minimize my own opiate withdrawals with it
LIVE LOUD!
This is my latest experiments since I got interested in Opium. I read about it, the book "Opium for the Masses" by Jim Hogshire was a great help.
Now Opium is made from the plant Papaver Somniferum, the opium poppy. But there are also other species of Papaver. Like Rhoeas. And it grows everywhere. I started becoming aware of how much of it was around. Especially along traintracks or highways. I read in the book that these contain little to no opium. But I also read on it contains its own sedative, Rhoeadine.
I made tea out of about 50 grams of pods and drank half of it. I was heavily sedated and couldn't even watch a movie anymore. Also I felt very calm and Zen, as I expect opium or opiates feel. Keep in mind I have only tried kratom, so I don't have a very good frame of reference of how opium/opiates should feel.
After more research I concluded it was not Somniferum, but Rhoeas. But it did have a very noticable effect. It was even a little fun.
So I set out to try again. I found another field where lots of it grew. It likes to grow on sand. There is a lot of variation in pod shape. After walking through a field of these, I found many differently shaped pods only feet away from each other. So I picked the biggest, roundest pods. I end up with 333 grams of pods.
How to Make
I blend these with boiling water for 2 minutes and then strain it. I put the pulp back in the blender and add more hot water and strain it again. The result: about 3 liters of brownish poppy tea with a subtle, nasty smell like wet bread. I pour the tea on a platter and let the water evaporate. I am left with a sticky substance that I scrape off and roll into balls. Now it resembles hash, but without the smell.
I made a ghetto water pipe out of an soda bottle, pens and aluminum foil. And I smoke about half a ball. I recommend using a water pipe, because its not that potent and the hot smoke is hard on your throat.
The Effect
I set the bong down. I definitely feel it. Something. A body load. Its quite pleasant. I lay down on my bed. I smile for no reason. I watch my hand in the sunlight, its very pretty. I am pleased. I laugh at myself thinking, you are a strange drug wizard, you. I feel at ease, calm. I get out of bed and sit on my couch. I am happy to watch the clouds roll by, appreciating their beauty. I am very pleased by this experiment, because I did not expect this result
