Hey everyone! I’m planing to buy my first setup for podcasting. Nothing to serious, and portability might be a bonus since I travel a lot between cities.
I’m planning to buy the Scarlett solo, but I cannot decide which mic should I get. I’m not much into the PODMIC sound and I have read that the signal is too low and it works better with an in line booster, which is a thing that I’m not planning to buy right now.
I’m more into the SM58 since I’ll not have a lot of noise control during the podcasts (I live w/ mates)
On the other side a dynamic tend to have less audio quality.
Anyone knows about the Presonus PD-70? Or which one of these should I get?

Does the UM2 provide enough or pre-amp to make the PD-70 sounds great without any unwanted noise ?
So I sent in my application to TPD back in February. I received the call to come in for my interview and fingerprints back in early August and the licensing officer told me it would be sent out right away to the state. 3 weeks go by so I call the state to check the status, and they tell me it’s still pending review at my local PD. Called the state a few more times the following weeks and finally they told me it was activated and sent back to my local pd. Two weeks ago I spoke to the licensing officer who told me that it should be at my house in the mail by the end of the week. Something needs to give in MA for firearms licensing...

Thank you for helping me narrow down my choice of a $300'ish combo!
I *think* I'm down for the PD-70 and Motu as my next step up the ladder.
I was thinking I'd get the SSL2, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra $20 when I can get prettier lights on the M2 ;)
Srsly, though, the M2 has the loop ability I might find handy, so that's a plus.
Anyone have any caveats about that combo?
If you don't recall my previous post, I'm currently on the Blue Yeti, but the damn thing just takes up too much of my time in post for environmental stuff my poor-man's recording closet doesn't eliminate. AND the Yeti seems to pop and click far more than the dynamic mics I've used at friends' houses.

Costco charges $110, but they do the works - air puff test, dryness test, reassessment after eye drops, etc. - comprehensive.
I got the works done 6 months ago, so there's no point getting it done again so soon (recommended to get done 1/year), but my lens prescription values have definitely changed, so that why I'm looking to get my prescription values re-assed, so I can buy a cheap pair of glasses or two for $10/each, from Zenni Optical or EyeBuyDirect.ca or something 😀
