A list of puns related to "Operation Ranch Hand"
Hi guys.
I am about to write a large paper on the usage of chemical weapons during the Vietnam War. Therefore I was wondering if anyone possibly knows any primary sources about the usage of Agent Orange and the following consequences. Furthermore some sources about Operation Ranch Hand would be amazing.
If you could help I would be incredibly grateful and any help would be amazing
I hear a lot about the impact of these Herbicides, but it's difficult to find information regarding the perspective of the US military on these operations.
In hindsight, was Operation Ranch Hand regarded as a successful mission? Did the use of the Rainbow Herbicides help to further US military goals in the affected areas?
So I recently started a new job at a ranch and my duties there range from moving hay bales, feeding the horses and cows, cleaning their water buckets cleaning the muck out of their pens and various maintenance duties (fixing fences and equipment). I only recently started last month and honestly if it weren't for the problems I'm about to mention, I would thoroughly enjoy it. First problem: shit pay and no benefits. Second problem: I'm pretty much expected to cram a whole day's worth of work in about four hours with zero help (I basically have to take care of an entire ranch by myself)which leaves me so drained and hurting that when I get home, I don't even have enough energy to jerk off. Third problem: my supervisor who I'll call Kashendra is a real bitch who apparently doesn't get tired of busting my balls over the most insignificant of details. Enough bitching about my problems, on to the revenge. So, for reference, I'm a 250 pound 6'2 dude with long arms that allow me to extend my reach (if I go on my tiptoes) up to almost 8 feet and Kashendra is about 5'. So what I've started doing to subtly fuck with her while I wait for my two weeks to be up is I've started to put away the equipment out of her reach. You need a hay hook? Well I guess you need the step ladder. You need the knife to cut the bale wires? Get the step ladder. You need the socket wrench to fix a gate? Step ladder. You need the duct tape to fix a leaky hose? Step ladder. You need the spare fly mask? Can you guess? Get the damn step ladder. Hell one time I even managed to put the step ladder just out her reach just out of spite for her bitchy attitude. When she busts my balls over that, I just use my excuse of "We got little kiddies running around during the riding lessons! We can't have them grabbing things around the barn and getting hurt! Would YOU like to deal with OSHA, or worse, a soccer mom?" I know it's not much, but I get a little chuckle on my drive home imagining her jumping around the barn trying to reach something while looking like Dr. Hartman in that one scene of Family Guy when he tried to jump up to slap a pipe on the ceiling.
tl;dr: I put tools and equipment out of reach of my supervisor to annoy her.
EDIT: Sorry for the wall of text, I'm on moble and I don't care enough to fix it.
I told him, "you do have a lot of achers!"
For the uninitiated: "Operation Ranch Hand" was a military program during the Vietnam War aimed at destroying the forests and crop fields of Vietnam to cripple the country and discourage the guerrilla warfare that was kicking the US Army's ass. There were six defoliants used as a part of the program: Agents Pink, White, Blue, Purple, Green, and the infamous Orange. Most people have heard of Agent Orange, but not the others. I'd like to know why that is. Was Agent Orange particularly destructive? The most widely used? Or is it just random chance that Agent Orange is the posterboy for deforestation during the Vietnam War?
I'm doing research on this and I've had decent luck finding things like congressional reports, state department memos and the like through resources such as the digital national security archive, but what's the next step to broaden my scope? What types of documents should I be looking for and where can I find them? I was thinking perhaps internal documentation from the Air Force or something from the Vietnamese perspective would be helpful, but I don't have a good idea of where to look.
Thanks!
Iβm not sure why but my entire life Iβve wanted to work on a ranch and live in the woods or something, if someone wants to help my dms are open. :)
I understand if you wear the brand you are there for life. But I still have a few questions about what that life would look like. I get most of this would be speculation, but:
