I'm currently looking at this rather bizarre virtual outsourcing company where it asks interested workers to pay about $60 to a maximum of $360 to get a one-month work contract/commission for about a 40% profit after job completion. It's called Kinney Infotech Corp also known as Kinney International, apparently connected to Simebucks Virtual Tech Solution Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian company. Based on the experience of someone who has experienced working for this company, the actual work seems really strange because all they ask you to do is rephrase or type down scanned documents or some other files. It's secretarial work and based on how much investment you're willing to pay, you'll be required to finish 10 to 60 pages of this kind of work in a month. It seems easy and basically I'm interested in it since it will just be a sideline, I have a full-time job.

But this company also has obvious red flags. First, the initial investment required and then the seemingly trivial work it provides. It honestly kinda feels like a Ponzi scheme, where the initial investment given by workers might be the actual money being used to provide the "apparent" profit until it eventually implodes.

Reading through the website, it begins to seem reasonable but it if I think about, it just seems too strange.

My question is, can this be legit? Or is this most likely a scam?

I want to know how to find clients, what resources i have to find etc.

This is just a preliminary idea, I have done some research and still collecting information.

I can find some investments, and employees. I am also hoping to consult some industry expert if I feel that this is a viable project.

So I have an idea for an online marketplace platform that allows individuals to create profiles and sell remote (zoom video) sessions for things like guided meditation, etc.

Early on I noticed sites like sharetribe will allow you to build this using their platform and it pretty much has everything baked in, but it comes with a price tag for sure.

So, being cheap, I decide to try and find someone on Fiverr to build it for me, and although he's making progress, there are obvious limitations being presented such as the inability for users to rank and review sellers (huge), and individuals don't have the ability to build their own custom profile or list unique services. I basically am having to build all of this within wordpress for each person that registers (huge).

So, I'm at the point now where I'm trying to determine whether or not I should cut my losses with this guy on Fiverr and just use Sharetribe.

Ideally, I'd have thousands of dollars to have something solid built, but I just don't have that kind of startup capital right now, and I'm honestly still exploring what kind of demand there would be for this.

Anyone else have any experience here and can offer some thoughts?

So here's the deal. I run an agency in NY for the last 9-years. We have over 15 on staff, in-house. Everyone is stretched super thin and I just can't afford to bring on another person to payroll. While I'm only putting out "feelers" right now, any real conversations would happen with our Art Director.

Here's where we start. In the last year we've added a new product into our offerings. It gave us direction and helps tell great stories. The old site, which is about 3 years old, does not represent who we are and quite frankly, it sucks. I never liked it. We've changed art directors since the current site launched. We have a new logo, branding guide, etc. I've done my research, (currently) working on copy and have completed two wire frames for the homepage and section front page. So, I think that's a great start for this gig, no?

Why am I here if I have an "Art Director" you ask? Fair questions. The truth is, I caught myself saying to a prospect "we design sites that drive conversions, answer questions and are aesthetically pleasing". It made me think that I while our work and work ethic standout, our forward facing website doesn't. And maybe some of our clients as well? As I said before, everyone is stretched super thin right now and while my developer are ready to take on the new build (in WordPress), but our designer is working on paying clients.

I'd like to start the relationship with our website. From there and assuming communications, revision requests and deliverables, we will offer your service as an upgrade to our clients. Please don't get me wrong, our average web design/development is between $3,500 - $5,000. So you'd need to be comfortable charging $500 to $1000, based on where the clients mind is. Think I'm crazy and we can get more? Awesome, show me why. Otherwise, don't be discouraged from reaching out if you're just starting out and looking to connect with an established company, that could send you half a dozen to a dozen designs a year.

Remember, this is design only. You would return the PSD files upon completion.

Hi guys! I recently started a LLC in the US as of Nov 2021 and was wondering if I really need to use an accountant or just do my bookkeeping myself for my type of business. I don't mind spending the time entering things in quickbooks but just worry about the risk factor of doing it wrongly, like is it common for people to do their own bookkeeping? In France from where I'm from and with the type of company I used to own it was required that I use an accountant to submit paperwork quarterly but here I feel most people just to their bookkeeping themselves?

To give you the big picture: It's only one member (myself) working from home and providing online advertising services. So charges will be monthly invoices from 6-7 providers such as facebook ads, google ads, emailing tool, upwork, etc. and I will be providing services to about 10 clients with one monthly invoice for each.

I received a few quotes from individual accountant for approx. $300 per month which includes tax prep at the end of each fiscal year as well as bookkeeping which seems relatively high to me re: the nature of my business (no employee, no office, everything online). I feel I should do it myself and outsource the tax prep only at the end of the year but would be curious to hear your opinion! Thanks.
