A list of puns related to "Offline reader"
It's been a few days since the initial release, now it's time for the first update!
This update includes redesigned subreddit editor and downloading screen, and minor performance improvements.

This is the first public release of the "offline reader" app: a complete remake of the old "reddit offline (Android-only)" app with a modern cross-platform framework called Flutter. This project started about one month ago, and it's already got several major improvements over the old app, including an added iOS support, additional images and videos sources (including fixing problems with redgifs and making sure both video and audio are downloaded from v.redd.it etc), improved HTML formatting (especially when posts or comments contains tables), and even inline-image support.
Of course, this new project being barely 1 month old, it's also missing a few key features from the old app, most noticeably the "scheduled download" feature is not available at this moment.
The good news is, now that the project has been remade using Flutter, future development would be fast and efficient (just look at how much was done in the past 1 month). There are tons of more features planned, including reddit login, marking posts as favourite (to avoid being removed when updating), offline voting and commenting (would be queued until you are online) and much more.

We introduced Plenary on /r/androidapps a couple months back and it received great response. Since then we've released some major updates that we'd like to share with you guys.
For recap, Plenary is a privacy focused RSS feed reader and offline reader (read it later) app. You can learn more about what the app does in our previous post.
Based on your feedback, we've added some major features:

A lot of the users asked for an option to pay one time fee instead of our subscriptions offering. We've enabled one time payment of Plenary premium in our latest release.

Hello everyone!
Here's a little demo of a reading app which can be installed as PWA with a lot of useful functionality and syncing, but unfortunately a lack of spare time and lost interest will not allow me to complete it.
Due to my relatively slow internet at times. And sometimes it disappears forever. I've realized that it is preferable to read offline. Without waiting for the next page to load.
However many comic readers lack the function of reading long strip. Which i prefer. And many others do as well.
So is their a comic reader to read offline? Yes.
The more popular one is Sumtrapdf.
https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/free-pdf-reader.html
However it is not a comic reader. It is a PDF reader.
Another reader i found though supports long strip called OpenComic
https://github.com/ollm/OpenComic/releases
It lack some functions But it is meant to be a full fledged comic reader. Its the one i'm currently using.
If anyone has any other recommendations for offline long strip comic readers for PC let me know.

Hey /r/androidapps,
Hope you guys are doing well in this difficult time.
I've created an Android app that lets you subscribe to RSS feeds and save articles offline on your device.
Presenting Plenary - RSS feeds & Offline reader
As mentioned, the app can be used as :
I know the first question that comes to mind when hearing about a new RSS reader app: there are hundreds of RSS reader apps on Play Store. So,
I agree there are plenty of RSS feed apps on play store but after looking closely at them, they can be broadly categorized in two types:
It is perfectly fine if you are happy with either of these two solutions. You can choose not to use Plenary. But if you are looking for a solution which acts as a bridge between these two, you should definitely give it a chance.
Browse all RSS feed options of top news sources from 15+ countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, UK and USA and add them quickly. (News sources from more countries will be added soon)
For example, [here's how you can subscribe to the health feed of NYT in a few eas
... keep reading on reddit β‘So I spent almost 4 days developing an novel reader to read novels offline for android. It does not host a collection of novels that you can download offline but instead it reads the chapters stored in a txt file and projects it into a readable UI. I am aware that this is not legal so I am really hesitant to share this. So if you guys don't want me to share this then I won't.
If some of you are interested then here are a few screenshots.

Any ideas? Alexa requires wifi connectivity.
What happened:
Our old app, "reddit offline", got taken down because it used the trademarked word "reddit" in its name. We are renaming "reddit offline" to "Offline Reader for Reddit". The new app is now live in the Play Store.

FAQ:
I just read that python is not that great of a choice to control hardware. And that the raspberry pi if programmed in python uses something called a wrapper that compiles into C or some other traditional hardware based language to get the required functionality. I was hoping that Python could be a good choice for my final goal. But it seems that I won't be able to integrate the Raspberry Pi hardware with just a simple GUI software. I figured running linux and an interpreters would allow me to do what I wanted. But python does not properly manage Memory allocation I understand?
Hi. Currently I'm using palabre with feedly hosting, but for the past few days it has been crashing whenever a site does not provide an article I want to read Surely it's because the site is slow due to Corona, but palabre is straight up crashing instead of waiting or showing the cached data.
I need a reader that work offline. Most of my reading happens on the underground, where my phone signal is terrible. Palabre only shows cached data if I turn on airplane mode. It'd be great if the new app could show cached data by default (thought I'm OK to keep using airplane mode if needed)
Being feedly compatible would be a plus, since I often save articles to re read on pc.
I tried using paper boy for a while. But the default mobilizer works awful and though it offers 2 others, the options to make those default do not work
I love this app. It's so so much smoother and reactive than both the website and the official Reddit app. I'm not talking about the download time, of course, but about folding/opening comments in a thread and similar actions.
I'd love to use it even when I'm online, without having to download and cache a lot of dada, but just fetching content on the fly.
Is that possible?
Otherwise, would you know any other simple and very-responsive app/website I should check out?
What's new:
Fixed an issue where some gifs are not being displayed, reported in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/RedditOffline/comments/glv92h/request_redgifscom_arent_being_displayed/
To join open beta (for this & all future beta releases), follow this link:

If open beta testing goes well, this version will be released in about one week.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.braksoftware.SatoriReader
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/satori-reader/id1382950847?ls=1&mt=8
Just received an email that Satori Reader is now available as an app with offline mode. Haven't tried it yet as my tablet is too old, but offline mode sounds great.
I used to use feedly to load articles in advance to read while underground on the train, but now it refreshes regularly and clears the loaded articles.
Are there any news apps that let you view articles while offline?
What's new:
Current version, "Offline Reader for Reddit, v1.0.1", is a continuation of "reddit offline v3.1.1". It most noticeably got a new feature where you could pull down when reading a post, to refresh its comments. It also fixed a bug related to the "hide seen posts" feature introduced in the previous version.

Offline Reader for Reddit (Play Store)
Previous versions:
reddit offline v3.1.x:
We largely improved the download speed of subreddits. Also, we added a new button to "hide posts that you've already seen", so you can focus on those you haven't seen. Note however, this switch is temporary, default off, and it's per subreddit. That means, if you switch on "hide seen posts" in r/AskReddit and then swipe to r/Pics, it will default to showing all posts again.
reddit offline v3.0.x:
In version 3, we have significantly improved the performance and largely changed the underlining architecture. There may not be much visual differences, but overall the app should run a lot smoother. The "auto delete old files after 3 or 7 days" option is gone thanks to the new database design: we now automatically manage offline files, and keep them for as long (or as short) as needed. We have also added some quality of life improvements such as adjusting text indents, theme colors, and enabling text-selection in comments.
This update includes lots of small improvements, such as further improved formatting of comments, newly designed on-boarding screens, a new cache directory management screen, a new feature to block users (will hide all comments from that user) and more.

Hello /r/developersIndia,
I have created three android apps. I would like to share them with fellow Indian developers.
Here is a look at the summary of core functionalities of each of these apps:
And there are common features across these apps:
All of these apps are completely ad-free and don't have any trackers to spy on user actions. You can use them with peace of mind that your data stays on your device.
By now you would have guessed it. Here is a link of the app - Plenary - RSS feed and offline reader. (Yes, it's one app combining functionalities of all three apps)
Since there are no ads, Plenary relies on Plenary Premium plan to generate revenue. Plenary premium enhances core functio
