A list of puns related to "North London line"
I read this interesting article about reinstating the third or even fourth track along the North London Line around Camden - (The Anonymous Widower Blog post: https://anonw.com/2021/06/19/will-camden-road-station-get-a-third-platform/)
Earlier this year, Network Rail published a report titled the London Rail Freight Strategy (LRFS) (https://www.networkrail.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/London-Rail-Freight-Strategy-Summary-Report.pdf). This suggested adding in a new third platform at Camden Road station, and a third track between this station and Highbury And Islington. The reason for this as the North London Line (NLL) is a very busy freight and passenge rail corridor, adding a third platform and track will increase the throughput through the line for both passenger and freight trains. The blog then goes on to discuss the viabilty of such a plan.
Personally, I'd like to see both abandoned tracks reinstated, re-creating a 4 track rail corridor between Highbury And Islington and Camden Road. Not only will this allow more freight trains to run and possibly more North London Line trains to run towards Clapham Junction/Richmond, but it would allow for Overground trains that come up through the East London Line ELL to be extended to Camden Road and terminate there instead, alleviating one of the most crowded parts of the Overground, and saving some people from having to change trains.
I'd like to know what Londoners think of this project, and would you support the project?
I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to everyone working and volunteering at the North London vaccination location. Start to finish everyone was so kind and knowledgeable, and with so many people working there I felt guided and cared for every step of the way! Everything was so organized, flowed so smoothly, and the people were just lovely.
Thank you for all that you are doing to help us get through this! It is honestly so appreciated, and you deserve so much more recognition of your efforts.
Everything is just so expensive relative to the income.
What's your for and against argument of this statement?
