A list of puns related to "Nightbooks"
The transformation itself does not need to be shown. If the character or extra, previously alive and not in doll form, is shown to have become a porcelain doll either on-screen or off-screen, option 1 will count. If the transformed character did not begin as a living, breathing character during the movie, option 1 will NOT count.
The results will be revealed between 11:59 AM PDT and 11:59 PM PDT the day after the prediction date.
I watched it yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. While it is aimed at a teen/young adult audience, as a 55 year old, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing is decent and it looks really good for a movie mostly set in a single location.
I'm not familiar with the younger actors, but they played their parts well, especially Lidya Jewett.
Kristen Ritter also did not disappoint.
Overall, I liked the movie and will watch it again with my wife.
Just watched nightbooks last night with my 8yr old. They wanted to watch a scary movie and this one caught my interest. No spoilers but it was rated PG and surprisingly did a lot with that PG rating. I aesthetically loved the film and the third act seemed to really ramp up the scary meter. All in all itβs a great film if kids want to watch a scary film. Iβd recommend.
It was produced by Sam Raimi but I canβt remember the director.
With this film, we get a Sam Raimi entry that at a glance looks to be a "family-friendly" outing but it does have some serious frightening moments and I particularly liked the framing device of a kid forced to tell stories to a witch to stay alive, sort of like a Grimm's fairy tale version of Scheherazade in One Thousand and One Nights who had to tell stories to save herself from execution.
Both the young leads in this film, Winslow Fegley and Lidya Jewett, give quite impressive and emotional performances here and Krysten Ritter looked to be having the time of her life as the witch.
Overall, Nightbooks was a solid horror flick with enough twists and turns to keep any fan of the genre happy and would make a great introduction to horror for younger viewers.
