A list of puns related to "National Crime Syndicate"
Wikipedia says it included βAt least 14 criminal organizationsβ but doesnβt specify which ones
I know it included Mafia Families, the Bugs and Meyer NY Jewish Mob and the Zwillmam NJ Jewish Mob and also Nucky Johnsonβs Atlantic City Mob
Iβm guessing Italian Mafia families made up the majority of the Syndicate, at the time there were 11 Northeastern Families (Philly, Pittsburg, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, NJ, Buffalo, Providence/Boston and the 5 NY Families) and 6 Midwestern Families (Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland, St Louis and Kansas) not to mention the several families further West and down South so Iβm guessing not all Mafia Families were involved in the Syndicate and it was mainly a NY/NJ thing?
That said Chicago was definitely involved and Al Capone attended the Atlantic City conference in 1929 himself.
Does anyone know the actual list? The βAt least 14 criminal organizationsβ from wiki seems like a random number pulled from someones ass tbh.
Were there any other Jewish mobs outside of the NY and NJ ones involved?
Wikipedia also says the Syndicate βalso involved other criminal organizations such as the Irish Mobβ, anyone know which ones in particular?
On Facebook I was asked a Unique question. Could a Nation-Wide Mega Billion Dollar Crime Syndicate pose as a dire threat to The Organization if not destroy it completely? Or would The Organization be Far too Elusive Sophisticated and Reinforced?
In Victoria 2, crime was visible only as provincial modifiers that lower productivity when you don't spend enough on bureaucrats. This is a huge, huge, huge opportunity for enriching domestic affairs in Vicky 3.
Imagine enacting prohibition in the United States. The legal supply of alcohol drops to near zero, but everyone from commoners to powerful senators want their fix of booze. A black market develops, and suddenly you have an entire industry built around supplying illicit alcohol.
These crime syndicates aren't just a bunch of modifiers; they're actual organizations with powerful leaders. They employ thousands of people for their operations; fighting them would literally mean going after paying jobs and livelihoods. They throw their weight behind government officials; your police chiefs aren't gonna prioritize the Mafia when they start receiving fat checks from them. They run soup kitchens to feed the poor and thus gain public favor. They expand outside of the black markets they formed out of; the Mob stops being a booze problem, now they're engaging in tax fraud, smuggling weapons, and replacing your own government's power.
Crime syndicates shouldn't feel like a bunch of modifiers, but rather almost like a shadow government operating under you. They operate factories that you have no control over (and get taxes from), and maybe even control paramilitary forces with their own arsenals. You don't even have to fight them; maybe their interests might unwittingly align with yours. Imagine cozying up to them so they'll blackmail political leaders you don't like, for example.
And of course, they should spread predominantly in a disaffected minority, with membership being passed from father to son, brother to brother. Like how the American Mafia was predominantly immigrants from southern Italy.
The addition of dynamic systems like these would do so much for making your country's inner operations feel organic and alive. Please devs, please make this happen.

I am u/Odd-Ad-900 and I am your mildly unhinged morning news anchor.
Yes, I took my Reddit given name. No, I am not "new". Calling me a shill? MGGA Please... (psshhhh)
I want to give A Big thank you to my news team u/blazlyn, u/viviconsadventures, u/tokyorose and our very own mods u/dismal-jellyfish, u/Hipz**,** and u/luma44 You guys are the best! And I couldn't do this without you.
Can You Smell That? It smells like the fire that will consume Rome. It will be a great show... kinda like hanging with Tyler Durdin in the financial district...
God I love this job.
Insert NON-FLACCID intro card
We all knew immediately that the AH price action yesterday was fake. I will admit that it got my blood moving to see those numbers. However, that pump quickly went away as diamond hands kicked in. And I am proud to say that when I hopped on Superstonk, there was not any crazy MOASS posts or anything detracting from finding out what the hell was going on.
And if they didn't want to get the attention of ALL OF THE INTERNET... they really fucked up.
Gamestop did not announce anything.
And even their timing is off... AGAIN!!! What kind of low rent junk ass bullshit crime syndicate are you running here?

Except itβs not just the Russian Mafiya
Can go after Mexican Cartels, Italian Mafiaso, Japanese Yakuza, Human Trafficking Organizations, Organ Harvesters etc
Federal Reserve, Cede & Co, DTCC, SEC, FINRA, FDIC, OCC, NCUA, Banking, Brokers, Insurance Companies, CFTC, FTC, CFPB, FHFA... all of it is nothing more than a well organized crime organization. The whole system is designed to keep this class (the 0.0001%) in control, in power, and the wealthiest in the world. It all started with old banker families from Europe (Rothschild, Rockefeller, JP Morgan, etc).
And you can't convince me otherwise that nearly everything has been compromised by these Wall Street parasites. SEC, FBI, DOJ, NSA, CIA, Congress, Secret Service, IRS, Corporations, Mainstream Media, Big Tech/Social Media, etc. If we still had any un-compromised enforcement agencies, we would've seen the biggest RICO case in history come forward on this years ago. To all of you employees at these organizations with a shred of morality & soul left, I challenge you to do what is right for your fellow mankind.
These parasites have created themselves an infinite money hack (infinite power) that they've been taking advantage of for over 100 years, all while forcing everyone else into poverty. What is taking place now is that the veil is beginning to be pulled back. Keep smashing cracks in the matrix, apes. DRS. HODL.
You don't scheme against humanity for your own gain and get away with it - period.
>"The very word secrecy is repugnant in a free and open society, and we are as a people, inherently and historically, opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths, and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweigh the dangers which are cited to justify it.
>
>*But we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding itβs fear of influence, on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific, and political operations. Itβs preparations are concealed, not published. Itβs mistakes are buried, not headlined. Itβs dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned. No rumor is printed. No secret is revealed." - John F. Kennedy's speech on secret societies April 27th
And what happens to non-heretical criminals?
The National Crime Syndicate taking over New England as PatAut seems like a meme-worthy concept. Will it ever be possible for it to be a focus path?
Based on their respective Wikipedia articles, I understand that both of these groups have very similar power structures and the same members (more or less). So with these similarities, what really does set them apart as separate entities?

I have been working on (while playing) a campaign that mainly deals with Boromar clan and Daask as the focal point with lots of little side quest options and freedom for the team within sharn. Sharn is definitely the main focus of this campaign and the team comes from different backgrounds but all know each other from the end of the last war. They have recieved a Boromar clan job offer from a Council benefactor with a pouch of gold for travel to sharn to start. we have done a bit of introductory in sharn and leveled up a little. I have lots of potential filler content.
I am building ideas for later to end game (maybe a trip to Droamm?). They do not know yet that the person who ran the war camp they were captive at just so happens to be Cavallah, the leader of Daask operations in Sharn. So I am wondering has anyone ever potentially removed a gang/syndicate from sharn? or how might that look? I know that the possibility for repeat incursions from droamm can be endless...but is there really anything stopping the team from helping boromar clan squash them out?
Something about this last episode made me think that we really need a Star Wars game where you build your own crime syndicate, customise your own crime boss, recruit gangs, expand territory, ect.
Of course we'll probably just get a shitty mobile game.
Im new to the series and a friend told that apperantly you were able to form a syndicate in cities in the old game. is that a feature which will come to bannerlord aswell? i have the feeling some perks are specifically designed for that. you can only get rid of bandits in cities as of now, but its only good for negative relation farming
As much as we tend to think solely of political groups when it comes to armed entities in theaters of conflict, organized crime syndicates simply pursuing profit are also frequent phenomena.
I was curious what the landscape is with regards not just to drug traffickers, but any type of organized crime, and the extent to which they are a consideration for both the Taliban and their fledgling opposition.
E.G., is there some smuggling mafia in, say, Nangarhar which can or does help or hinder the Taliban, and could go either way in the future?
So i'm GMing Shadow of the Demonlord and we are currently playing the "Tales from the Demonlord" Campagin.
Anyway: one of my players (rouge / now Asassin) is in really good terms with the thieves guild in Crossing. Another player (Mage / Witch) is part of a rebel group (as part of his random rolled background).
Now the Mage/witch is more of a trickster (likes Teleport spells) and told me that he will turn his rebel group ("Changelings are Human too") into a general "we fight against opression" kinda punks. So i'm ok with that and that he is able to find other changelings and teach some of them some basic teleportation spells. He also "invests" heavily into building a spy network by paying children to "watch out" for him and then maybe let them into his gang. He did with with teleport spells some great burglaries by teleporting into a room, taking the stuff and hopping out. Something that is not possible anymore (or at least not that easy) since several shop owners asked the local mage and his apprentice (another player) to sell them some protective scrolls... which the other player did of course
So ... we now have two crime syndicates and the trickster Mage/witch is full on "i really wanna control the slums and make a better live for the people there since nobody helps them" (which is not completly true but anyway), while the other players is a supporter of the current thieves guild
TLDR: two players work for different crime syndicates (one of them doesn't know that the other player is actually the leader of the new gang) and it seems a gang war will come up. How do i play this out?? are there any good Modules with "Gang Wars" for which i could take some ideas??
I never mistook this job for low risk but I never imagined it could potentially get me thrown in jail.
We got a pretty sketchy delivery call at a late hour. Our FOH is constantly slammed with everyone desperate to eat at a table again now that the vaccineβs out, and they were in the weeds, so I grabbed the phone.
Before I could even finish our standard greeting the guy just goes, βYah itβs Mack. Iβm ordering a pizza.β
Iβm not much for small talk either, so Iβm rolling with it, like, βGood for you Mack. Pick up or delivery?β You know, just rattling off the standard questions. He answered the first few but he seemed hesitant orβ¦ confused?
He argued with some other guy behind him for a sec then got back on the line and ordered like normal, as though none of the preceding stuff had even happened.
Whatever.
I caught his delivery and out I went. It was a standard large pizza, no toppings, no extras. They were going to pay cash.
I pull up and itβs a scary, run down, sparsely populated apartment complex. Mostly broke college students in there now though, so I wasnβt too concerned or anything.
I get to the door and when I knock it eases open a bit. This didnβt seem like the ideal neighborhood to keep your door unlocked but, not my business. I called in, βHey, pizza!β
There was no response. I called a little louder, βGot your pizza out here!β
And an alarmed voice from inside was like βSshhh, just come in!β
Ahaha, no. I get that request weirdly a lot, like, everyone from sketchy apartment bros to suburban soccer moms, asking me to bring the pizza to the dinner table because theyβre busy. Some people even pulled this during the pandemic. But itβs a long-standing company policy, a damn good one, that entering the home for any reason whatsoever is a hard no.
So I said back, βCanβt do that. But I can leave it out here if you donβt want to come to the door. Just need payment first.β There was a silence and some shuffling and then the door shut. And locked. And the guy was like, βWhat do you mean payment first? Thatβs not what we agreed on.β Through the closed door.
I was standing there wondering if this was the first pizza this man had ever ordered in his life, because payment first is basically implied, right?
But Iβm not looking for any confrontations or trying to be an asshole so I just tell him, βYah, so, our store policy is payment first.β And he erupts, screaming, βThatβs not what Mario and I discussed!β
So then I thought maybe he was t

A group of supervillains attacked an apartment complex in Long Island. The group is known online as The Sinister Syndicate. The attack was targeted at Harold "Happy" Hogan's condo known as Head of Security and Asset Manager for Stark Industries. Spider-Man was their and stopped the criminals but they escaped. According to the Department of Damage Control there was one casualty identified as Maybelle "May" Parker known as the head of F.E.A.S.T and notably help her community in Queens. The killer is rumored to be the Green Elf. The DODC has started an investigation into the attacks little to non evidence is known of this individuals.
Something akin to the Sicillian Mafia or the Hong Kong Triad or the Russian Organized crime groups- which are not really a single unit- that do proper illicit business with one another.
Whenever I search for it, I get stuff like Neo-Nazi bikers and alt-right conspirators. That's not the kind of organized crime I am looking for
The first time I saw them, was in the 1931 German movie- "M".
I would appreciate to learn about such groups in Germany, especially if they are German in origin and not from immigrant groups(though, they can be included).
I would like to know about their activities and the infamous members and incidents.
