The title of the compilation novel/audiobook: ๆ่ญใฎใชใใณ (ishiki no ribbon) by Wataya Risa.
Tomoe worked with audiobook jp and had narrated/voiced three titles (out of eight) in the compilation novel (the three titles are ๆ่ญใฎใชใใณ, ๅฑฅๆญดใฎ็กใๅฅณ and ๅฑฅๆญดใฎ็กใๅฆน).
This is likely the first time a vtuber has officially narrated for audiobook.jp (If I'm not mistaken, it's the largest audiobook distribution service in JP). Tomoe has done similar narration streams before I believe, and her 3-min virtual theatre series is also really good and eye-opening (it's a series of streams where she and an invited guest will voice act around five or six selected scripts submitted by their listeners).
Sharing this because I really like her voice and acting! And it's also an amazing milestone for Tomoe and vtubers!
More info from her zatsudan stream yesterday night (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
My boyfriend is looking for a dystopian novel, can be lengthy. He read Dune and loved it, so something along those lines is always great. Neuromancer was also a favorite of his. Thank you!!!

>Its essentially a long form version of A Christmas Carol.

>What normally is about a 3 hour audiobook is 17.

>I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed narrating it!

This delightful listen features three essays about opium, caffeine and mescaline, with a covid-era introduction, highlighting Pollanโs increasing appreciation for plants during pandemic life. If youโre a fan of Pollanโs writing like I am, youโll notice that This is Your Mind on Plants feels familiar; itโs a bit like the approach Pollan took in his 2001 book, The Botany of Desire, which links four fundamental human desiresโsweetness, beauty, intoxication, and controlโwith the plants that satisfy them: the apple, the tulip, marijuana, and the potato.
In addition to his signature blend of history, science, and participatory journalism as an avid gardener and connoisseur of edible plants, Pollan comes across as more curious than ever to appreciate and understand plants from very different angles and contexts.
Favourite quote: โEvidently, normal everyday consciousness is not enough for us humans; we seek to vary, intensify, and sometimes transcend it, and we have identified a whole collection of molecules in nature that allow us to do that.โ

I know, there's been a lot of Jesse spinoff ideas, it's not original.
But the part I think could really make it different is almost a HIMYM-ish narration from Future Elderly Jesse, played/voiced by a different actor than Aaron Paul. In BB, Jesse grows a shitton, and by the end he's much more than the absolute dumbass he starts off as.
Getting away in El Camino, he's a dude who's escaping an abusive [non-romantic] relationship (with Walt), escaping substance abuse, escaping an ineffably dangerous world. In this day and age, we as a society are more aware than ever before of trauma, of psychology, of how experiences not unlike the ones Jesse went through in Breaking Bad affect and change a person. I think Jesse's future, post-El-Camino, could be a phenomenal story to tell through those lens, to educate people more on these topics.
I'm picturing Jesse continuing his upwards trajectory in learning about the world and people and how to navigate society. I'm picturing him meeting genuinely good people, and developing a support network with other folks on their journey of healing. I'm picturing the bumps in the road he'll overcome to developing greater emotional wisdom. How will his psychological scars manifest now that he's in a healthier, saner environment? How will he react now, post-El-Camino, when he inevitably comes across temptations again? Through what experiences would it take him, that old Jesse would be narrating from having lived through? What pitfalls would old Jesse fall into, what flaws would be in his character? What would old Jesse learn from re-examining all the lessons he learned post-El Camino?
Could even toy with the circumstances under which Old Jesse is narrating. Is he coming clean to his children about who he used to be for the first time? Did he even have children, and what's his relationship with them? How did his flaws from Breaking Bad, lead to shortcomings and challenges with starting his new life? Is he coming clean to a Priest at the end of his life, a deathbed confession of sorts? Is he sharing his story with a cop in a nursing home, to answer decades-old questions those answers would otherwise die with him? Are his children the Priest and the cop, lol
Point is, I think in general the idea of a Jesse spinoff -- just that -- isn't unique enough, isn't different or distinct enough to justify its existence. But, formatted as something where an older Jesse is narrating the story... that could be what the idea needs to set it ap
