Kabukimono or hatamoto yakko were gangs of samurai in feudal Japan. First appearing in the Azuchi-Momoyama period (between the end of the Muromachi period in 1573 and the beginning of the Edo period in 1603) as the turbulent Sengoku period drew to a close, kabukimono were either rลnin, wandering samurai, or men who had once worked for samurai families - who, during times of peace, formed street gangs. Some, however, were also members of more prominent clans โ most notably Oda Nobunaga and Maeda Toshiie.
It is also said that Izumo no Okuni, the inventor of kabuki theatre, borrowed heavily from the style and the personality of the kabukimono when she first started performing in Kyoto. Just as kabukimono often wore female clothes, Okuni often disguised herself as a male and went out carrying weapons.
Kabukimono would often dress in flamboyant clothing, combining bold colours such as yellow and blue, often accessorised by wearing haori jackets with lead weights in the hem, velvet lapels, wide obi belts and even women's clothes. Exoticism was characteristic and included items such as European clothing, Chinese hats, Jinbaori vests made from Persian rugs.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I posted about a month ago a rough ..boy..I mean rough itineraryโฆfor japan 23/24, where I would jump between Tokyo,kawaguchiko,Kyoto,Osaka and Nagoya for two weeks
i had some great tips and advice from people(thanks by the way) about what to do and stuff now I was doing a bit more research and realised that Nagoya is closer to kawaguchiko , like what an idiot am I not to use a map!!
so, the itinerary has changed slightly and I need help with travelโฆ..mostly to Nagoya because in this Reddit, no one seems to want to go there, or I donโt see a lot of it, Iโm going for the studio ghibli theme park and will probably spent a night there, so want to know if there are other things that make it worth while and food stuff,not just there, every way Iโm goingโฆ.what MUST I have..or regret it
day 1 arrive in haenada, pick up wi if, jr pass.(still calculating) or suica, get to hotel in shinjuku,wander out to conbini,gather food and collapse
