A list of puns related to "Mr. Rooter"
Has anyone had them do plumbing work? We had them "work" on a project this weekend.
Friday, 1/22, our gas company discovered a leak in the line coming into the house. We had a plumber replace the outside line. But while prepping for the inspection they discovered there was a very slow leak somewhere in the house. We have a home warranty company that covers gas leaks within the borders of our foundation, so we decided to have them handle the inside leak. A city inspector showed up as they're telling me this, but he went ahead and inspected their work anyway. He said it would have passed, it was good work, but with the slow leak under the house he couldn't pass us.
The original plumber withdrew their permit. I verified that this morning with the city office.
Mr Rooter got the home warranty ticket on Monday, 1/25.
They came out Thursday, but they didn't have a compressor to pressurize the line. They knew they'd have too since I explained that to their extremely rude receptionist on Monday. They rescheduled for Saturday, 1/30.
Saturday they came out, tested the line and confirmed there was a leak under the house. However, a man (I believe the owner) drove up after the crew told me they would pull a permit so they could try finding the leak (again, unprepared since it should have already been done).
The man who drove up said they couldn't do the work since another company had done the outside work. He said they couldn't pull a permit because the permit was issued to another company. They left and immediately closed the ticket.
I confirmed with the city that there was no open permit, and I confirmed there is no issue with having another company do the work inside the house.
This morning my home warranty had another company come out, and they're already pulling the permit and getting ready to do the work.
Mr Rooter took our job knowing all of the specifics, because I explained it multiple times to the receptionist (who is extremely rude), the crew that came out Thursday, and the crew that came Saturday. They saw the opportunity to make a quick buck and never did the work.
If you've had a bad encounter with Mr Rooter of Abilene/San Angelo, I encourage you to leave a review about your experience on their Facebook page, Google, Yelp, and Yellow Pages. I've had several of my friends tell me similar experiences where they do the diagnosis, refuse to do the work, and close the home warranty ticket.
Has anyone used Mr. Rooter for their plumbing? Thoughts on service and cost?
So i have the age old problem of roots in my mainline, between the clean out access and the street. The pipe was replaced from house to cleanout, but is still terra cotta from middle of yard to street. The roots broke the terra cotta at some point and there is about an inch of misalignment. So that's the problem area. I have spider webbing roots that are catching waste. I've had Mr Rooter here 2 months ago to run the snake and cut, as well last year, and then 3 years previous. Costs about 250. They say jetting is a couple thousand, and tearing up and replacing will be around 7 thousand. Supposedly the township is replacing lines sometime in the next few years (as well as main sewer), so i don't want to waste the money. I'm looking for alternatives. The line is not blocked, but what happens is when the upstairs toilet flushes, i can hear gurgling from the basement drain (or when the washer dumps etc). We've run a camera, and see roots catching t-paper down at the break. I've just started hearing the gurgling again, only 2 months after we cut. Advice? Is RootX any good? Rock salt?
Just left a friends house & pulling up to a stop sign the only vehicle ahead of us is a Mr. Rooter plumber's shitmobile.. The van had its right blinker on & was at the right side of the lane very slowly creeping to the right. As there was some plumbing pipes on top & we were going left & did want to potentially get covered in shit from the dirty pipes, we pulled up to the left of him at the stop sign, getting ready to make our turn. That's when on the back of the motorcycle, I noticed the van driver has a map out on the steering wheel, is looking lost, starts turning his wheel to the left and is about to run right into us even though he signaling right, is more than committed to his right turn, and we're close enough to the left of him for me to reach out and punch him in the face from the back of the bright yellow Suzuki that I'm sitting on.
I flipped open my visor and yelled at him "hey, which way are you turning?! Your signaling a right-hand turn but it looks like you're about to run us over now.." He jumps & looks startled to discover there's another vehicle 18" from his face, looks right at me and doesn't say sorry even though I just prevented him from wiping us out in a company van & most likely losing his job (the company owner rides, too) but gives us just enough time to safely make our left turn.
That is the second time in less than two weeks that my hyper awareness on the back of the SuMo has saved us from being wrecked by cagers who don't acknowledge motorcycles, even brightly colored ones.
I had to have Mr. Rooter come out to cut out an old section of cast iron pipe, and the plumber suggested I buy BioChoiceES to dump down the drain once a month to eat away at all the gunked stuff in my old pipes. Is there something else I can buy that's a little easier to get, like off amazon or at home depot?
