I was thinking about this earlier. As a person from the UK my perception of someone from Russia is a Caucasian individual.
But Russia is HUGE and borders so many countries in the East!
What's it like there? Do you still identify as Russian?

I've always thought it weird that Russia has always had this view as a European nation. My guess is it's because of European-centric views and the fact they can easily reach Russia but not Asia. Also because of the location of their capital. But I've also found it weird that when Europe went through it's phase of fascination with Asia as they truly interested with it for the first time, that Russia hadn't been more like "oh yeah, we know those guys". Why wasn't there more interaction earlier on between Russia and Asia, it always seems they just stayed in West Russia and ignored the other half of their country.
Finally, is East Russia more ethically Asian than the Russians we typically know of? Just seems weird that we never see that and that they share so much of their border with Asia.
