[TOMT] [MOVIE] A horror / thriller film from around 2016-2018 that includes a scene with a guy in the shower on his boat - something to do with forgiving himself?

In the years 2016-2018 (though you could extend this to 2015-2019) I remember watching a film in theatres that was definitely of the horror genre - potentially thriller. I was young enough at the time to be sort of disturbed by its premise, and I recall it was an average but entertaining watch.

I’m pretty sure the whole conclusion of the story was that the male character had to forgive himself for something he had done in the past. I think something was haunting him because he hadn’t forgiven himself. It was something significant like the death of a loved one.

There was a horror scene where he was in the shower on his boat (he lived on the harbour) when something dramatic / horrific happened (unexpectedly for him of course).

I’ve become extremely irritated that I cannot find this film and an hoping someone can help me. Thank you!

I really want to see Friday the 13th get the Halloween (2018) treatment, for it to get a film that is loved by critics and audiences and successfully revives the franchise

Before the 2018 Halloween movie, we hadn’t really had any good slasher horror movies. Most of the ones the did get may have been fun movies to put on while you switched off your brain but most of the films weren’t really received well by critics and horror fans.

Halloween (2018) was such a good slasher film. It managed to stick to its roots while actually delivering on the horror premise without falling into the usual cliches and I really want to see Friday the 13th get that treatment. I personally enjoyed the 2009 remake but I understood it wasn’t to everyone’s liking.

A Christmas film on Netflix, circa 2018

My wife and are trying to figure out what movie this was: in the Netflix streaming catalog circa 2017-2019.

It's bad, really bad. It centers around a young single mother who hangs out with her son and spends a ton of money playing a claw machine in a drug store that has cash and lottery ticket prizes in it.

A later scene had mom driving in a beat up old truck, and son asks if they will have Christmas this year, mom replies "sorry baby, the claw machine ain't been good to momma lately" or something very similar.

This had been our inside joke for years, and we can't seem to figure out where it came from.

Halloween (2018) should have been given a more unique name to distinguish it from the original film.

Personally, I think it should have been given one. I know most people simply put the year with it, but it should really have it's own unique name, as it is not a reboot, but a continuation of the story set up in the original 1978 film.

The timeline of Halloween (2018) is a remake of each of the Halloween films…so this is how Halloween β€œEnds”

At this point, the pattern is established: Halloween 2018 was a suspenseful, atmospheric movie in the vein of the classic. Myers seems mostly human and it focuses almost exclusively on the cat and mouse game between Laurie and Myers. It ends on a note implying Myers lives and ends.

Halloween Kills is a remake of Halloween II: a more violent movie with Myers having hints of the supernatural. Laurie is in the hospital for most of the film so it focuses on other characters.

But there’s a shift. Halloween Kills doesn’t end with Myers dying…quite the opposite. He wins and is shown to be more or less invincible. Why?

Well. Season of the Witch doesn’t feature Myers and instead revolves around the Shamrock company and their masks. Shamrock masks were shown in Halloween Kills, and the masks from 3 are shown to have supernatural properties.

Throughout the original film, 2018, and Kills Myers is always shown to be vulnerable without the mask. He will stop at nothing to get it back. Why? Because the mask makes him a symbol. Without it, he’s human. When he kills his sister as a child, he’s wearing a mask. And any time he performs the impossible, it’s in the mask.

So Halloween Ends when the masks come off. If Hattonfield cancels Halloween, he loses some of his power. And that’s when he’s vulnerable. So after a time jump in β€œEnds”, this is where things start.

[TOMT] [2017-2018] Creepy/Trippy music video on YouTube with shots from the 1927 film Metropolis

I was at a mates house a few years ago and someone had put on this video containing various shots from the film Metropolis (1927) along with some eerie music. The editing was sort of "trippy" with multiple shots reversed or superimposed onto each other. All I am certain of is that it was on YouTube, I have tried multiple times to find the video and was only able to uncover the name of the film which the scenes had been taken from, I recall the title being something like "Blue Raws" however I have found nothing when using this title so it might be a mistake in my memory. I believe the title of the video was taken from the name of the song that was being used, but again I could be remembering incorrectly.

(I am aware of the possibility that the video could have been deleted)

Edit: The music did not have vocals

The time SR-71 Blackbird crew that β€˜gave the birdie’ to a French Air Force Mirage III pilot, lit the afterburners and outran him

One of the most entertaining stories about flying the Blackbird comes from Lt. Colonel William Burk Jr., who shares about a particular mission he flew [according to SR-71 pilot Stormy Boudreaux, Tom Henichek was Burk’s RSO for that mission] over Lebanon back in 1982 in the book Skunk Works by Ben Rich.

β€˜In the fall of ’82, I flew from Mildenhall on a mission over Lebanon in response to the Marine barracks bombing. President Reagan ordered photo coverage of all the terrorist basis in the region. The French refused to allow us overfly, so our mission profile was to refuel off the south coast of England, a Mach 3 cruise leg down the coast of Portugal and Spain, left turn through the Straits of Gibraltar, refuel in the Western Mediterranean, right turn into Lebanon and fly right down main street Beirut, exit along the southern Mediterranean with another refueling over Malta, supersonic back out the straits, and return to England. Because Syria had a Soviet SA-5 missile system Β just west of Damascus that we would be penetrating (we were unsure of Syria’s intentions in this conflict), we programmed to fly above 80,000 feet and at Mach 3 Β plus to be on the safe side, knowing that this advanced missile had the range and speed to nail us. As we entered Lebanon’s airspace my Recon Systems Officer in the rear cockpit informed me that our defensive systems display showed we were being tracked by that SA-5. About 15 seconds later we got a warning of active guidance signals from the SA-5 site. We couldn’t tell whether there was an actual launch or the missile was still on the rails, but they were actively tracking us. We didn’t waste any time wondering, but climbed and pushed that throttle, and said a couple of β€œHail Kellys.”

We completed our pass over Beirut and turned toward Malta, when I got a warning low-oil-pressure light on my right engine.Β  Even though the engine was running fine I slowed down and lowered our altitude and made a direct line for England. We decided to cross France without clearance instead of going the roundabout way. β€˜We made it almost across, when I looked out the left window and saw aΒ French Mirage IIIΒ sitting ten feet off my left wing. He came up on our frequency and asked us for our Diplomatic Clearance Number. I had no idea what he was talking about, so I told him to stand by. I ask my backseater, who said, β€œDon’t worry about it. I just gave it to him.” What he had given him was β€œthe bird” with his middle finger: I lit the afterburners an
