Hello r/Hobbydrama, sorry for the wait. Been doing a lot of work on my honours project and then I made the poor decision to catch COVID. Shit happens, we roll with it. Also there have been a few other F1 posts including a full season recap. Whoops, I/we should have been quicker. Hopefully the next part won’t be quite as far away. I highly recommend this piece about F1 safety if you haven't read it although it's not for the faint of heart. Thank you for the positive response to the first part, it was really nice reading through all those comments.

Here's part 1 in case you missed it!

First off, some housekeeping:

• Yes, the title of the first part says 2020. I’m an idiot.

• If anyone knows how to get better spacing between paragraphs, please let me know. It's all pretty crunched up on my end and I hate it lol

• Max’s dad, Jos, is a pretty horrific human being, to the point where his wiki has a fairly extensive “controversy” section. I did not intend to gloss over this but my “I don’t have time to focus on everything” reasoning should have been broken for this. This probably shouldn’t impact your opinion of Max as he is far less controversial (please ignore his mongol comments (I do actually like Max, but this is just really stupid from him)) Slightly more fun fact, Jos also had probably the most disastrous pitstop of all time, and, the current head honcho of F1, Ross Brawn, was part of the pit crew.

• A few people noted that the first part didn’t have much in the way of actual drama and they’re right but trust me, we’re ramping it up for this part and onwards. The Netflix show Drive To Survive is very good for new watchers and I recommend it but please take it with a mountain of salt. It’s severely over-dramatised. Max and Daniel don’t hate each other, Carlos and Lando don’t have any rivalry at all, they’re great mates, radio messages are played in places that don’t check out just to create drama. It’s fun and accessible but don’t take it as gospel.

• I

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
