A list of puns related to "Microsuction tape"
Microsuction tape on PLA/PETG use?
Has anyone used Microsuction tape on their printed parts?
Does it adhere correctly for repeated uses ?
Any tips or tricks for its use on printed parts? Do they require a pull point to easily start the removal process?
Are there any substitute materials that work similarly, or perhaps even better that others are utilizing?
Have a small dock for electronic devices that I would like to secure to a smooth glass surface for easy removal, yet easily be able to reposition quickly and easily when desired.
All your posts and comments have helped me a lot! :) So I wanted to contribute what I hope is a useful post about the Onyx Boox Poke 3.
At the bottom is some info on my set up/third-party apps/some tips (which I guess could apply to Boox devices in general) for people stumbling upon this post looking for more info like I was.
My use case
I already have an e-reader which still works great (Kindle PW2, 6th gen) but I wanted an e-ink device that could also go online, play podcasts, etc. so I can avoid looking at LED screens especially in the evening.
Battery life
Starting off here because the battery life reviews for the Poke 2/Poke 3 have been all over the place, with some people saying 10 hours max or even just a few hours if you're reading on the Kindle app...??
Usual disclaimer, your battery usage will depend a lot on what you're doing. (Ex. I'm kind of a fast reader, so if youβre a normal or slow one you'll flip pages/refresh less often and probably expend battery at a lower rate.)
So far, with the frontlight on (but low), I seem to use up:
This is all estimated with AccuBattery. These numbers will probably get better once I settle down into βnormalβ use and stop fiddling around with app settings etc. so much. But I wanted to post my current usage to show that I personally get more than the 8-10h screen-on time Iβve seen quoted here more than once.
Update 1: as an example, since drafting this post I tried tracking my actual time reading ebooks against my real battery drain, and now I'm getting more like 2.5%-3% per hour for reading on Kindle and Moon+ reader. (Estimated 33 hours straight of reading, on the low end, and 40++ hours on the high end.)
Update 1.5: Listening to podcasts via Bluetooth earbuds, with the device asleep, is actually not bad either, about 6ish% an hour.
Note the device does discharge a bit while asleep (not shut down), but I think that might be unavoidable since it's basically a tablet.
Hardware
The upgrade of the port to USB-C is completely underrated, imo! I bought a $4 dongle (USB-C to 3.5 jack, without a chip) and it lets me listen to audio with regular wired headphones, avoiding the need for Bluetoot

Tell me about your ideal cover (and what features are important to you), and maybe I'll be able to make (part of) it a reality! If you find the current cover options underwhelming, join me in my quest of developing the perfect cover...
I received my Boox Note Air a few weeks ago, and it's working out great: I use it throughout the day, every day. And so, I want to have a cover for it that I will love using all the time.
I find the available Note Air covers underwhelming, and no other cover has really made my heart skip a beat yet. And since I recently got into sewing, I'm setting off to build my own! I have a few design ideas bouncing around in my head, and have ordered several hundred dollars of materials to experiment with. Ideally, I'll be able to come up with a cover design that others will like enough to purchase so I can recoup some of those materials costs π
What I'm currently going after is folio-type cover (having a "book" aesthetic) with the Note Air attached magnetically inside. At this stage, I'm going for either leather or faux leather exterior, with cork lining. Here's a rough mockup: https://imgur.com/a/6u6Djou There are no seams on the mockups, but they will of course be beautiful (especially where the 2 leathers meet)...
I hate permanently modifying/marking my possessions, which is one of the main reasons that I've avoided the original Note Air cover. Having received the magnets I'm planning to use, I've come to realize that, given limitations of how the Note Air itself was built/designed, a 100% magnetic fastening may unfortunately not be possible.
Writable e-ink tablets are very flexible in their use, and I'm sure each one of us uses it differently in their workflow/leisure, so I'd love to hear more about how you use your device(s) and how the ideal cover would play into that.
So tell me, what would be the ultimate cover for you?
What's your preferred type of cover (folio, pouch, envelope, etc.) and why? Any fabric preference?
What device would you want a cover for? (I'm doing this for my Note Air, but who knows: maybe I can adapt it down the road for other devices/formats.)
Which stylus/styli to you use? Is it important for you that the case have somewhere to store the stylus? Does it have to be in the same plane and parallel to the Note Air's edge (e.g. edge where official stylus is held magnetically, or in the binding of a folio cover), or would you be ok with having it stored on the cover's face or backing (

Go post NSFW jokes somewhere else. If I can't tell my kids this joke, then it is not a DAD JOKE.
If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.
Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???
Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.
Thank you,
A Dad.
So far nobody has given me a straight answer
I am currently in the hospital. I had a back operation yesterday. The surgical nurse came in my room and started asking questions about my back. She asked me if I had any falls during the last year. I responded just one. It was after summer.
She laughed and said in 20 years of doing this she never was told that joke.
..... Will get a reward.
Well, toucan play at that game.

Keep in mind, my son is 4 years old, so everything is an original to him.
I had to work late into the evening yesterday, and he was just going to bed when I got home. I had left home for the office nearly 14 hours prior, had a long day, lots of meetings, traffic, etc.
When I walked through the door, I was exhausted, run down, and starving. My wife hugged me and asked how my day was, and I replied, "Done. It was a good day, but has got me exhausted. I just want to grab a bite and go to bed. I'm hungry."
From my son's bedroom, I hear him shout, "Hi Hungry! Nice to meet you!"
Not only did it make me laugh, but I completely forgot about how hungry and tired I was. I went to his bedroom, and we laughed together about it. It was exactly what I needed.
Edit: Thanks for all the awards, kind strangers! I'll let my son know y'all enjoyed his joke too!
I heard parents named their children lance a lot.
