A list of puns related to "Microsoft NetMeeting"
throwaway - I am an account manager for a telecom company that provides VOIP phones to companies. There are about 20 of us and our job is primarily to answer any questions about the phones, the service, billing, etc. We have hundreds of clients.
What the boss does is assign clients to each of us based on a rating of how challenging and difficult they believe the end users are. Each client gets a score of 1-10. 1 meaning these are employees at microsoft who are all very techy and will never have to call us asking where they should plug in the ethernet port, and 10 because the client is an old age home and we will get five calls a day from each resident asking how to get a dial tone.
So one account manager may be assigned a client who has 5,000 employees, but they are rated a 1, so it provides them just enough work for 40 hours a week, while another account manager may get a client who only has 100 employees, but they are all tech idiots and call in constantly.
Well when I started, I got assigned a client with a few hundred employees who were rated a 10, so their "algorithm" predicated that it would be just the right amount of work to keep me busy. As it turns out, the client is a highly skilled tech company that actually writes the software for the phones we support, and their rating should have been a 1, not a 10
I get 1-2 calls a week and literally nothing else. When it first was clear that they messed up the rating system, I was a good little employee and notified my manager that they may have not allocated the proper amount of work. I was told that their rating system is near perfect and I should not stir the pot.
So I have not stirred the pot for 5 years. My last call for support was 9 days ago and I literally browse the web all day and attend the occasional meeting. I get my 5% annual raise and full benefits. I will continue until I get caught or something better comes along. Oh, I am work from home full time.
edit - a lot of comments telling me to delete this post but I changed enough about the technology and rating system that I am not worried. Having said that, I have been getting very threatening DMs from some very angry people threatening to do everything in their power to DOX and report me, so this post will be deleted shortly.
I'm 47. Around 25ish years ago, I tried to get a CS degree, but I realized I wasn't that good at the higher math classes. I just could not connect the dots given the way the math was taught and there was no Internet to give me a different perspective. People that got it, just got it and that was it.
So, I got a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems instead. At the time this involved your basic business classes with the addition of learning HTML, configuring a Microsoft Access Forms DB and learning some Cobol among other things. I'd also taken the CS 100 and 101 classes where you learned Pascal and C.
I had no idea what I was going to do when I got out of school with this degree. People were going into project management with it, but I didn't want to do that. There was no Internet to speak of back in 1996. I ended up living with some friends from college and we all went into mid-range IT consulting. I was doing helpdesk work at first, which sucked, but paid $25 an hour and since I paid around $300 a month for rent, this wasn't bad. Then as Y2K approached I got into Y2K remediation for a little more money, say around $27 an hour. This also sucked as it wasn't fixing Y2K bugs in software, it was going through all the third party software the corporation used and finding out whether there were Y2K bugs. This was a tedious process pre-Internet as we know it now.
The consulting companies that found these jobs for us were nothing more than headhunters that collected money from the companies (usually about 3x what we were paid) and sent us a paycheck and at the end of the year a W2. They did nothing else.
I lived in an area where there were basically three big employers that needed IT resources and right around the year 2000 I had worked in one or another consulting job for all of them.
The last job I did was a computer install for a military hospital. I initially got lowballed into taking $15 an hour because I needed the money as I'd been slacking off (decompressing) using my savings for eight months and doing nothing except getting really good at Quake II. You can do that sort of thing when your rent is $300 and you have no wife or kids.
When I got to the location I met up with the system admin for the whole place and then met the person that was supposed to be leading the team of people that were doing the install (I was to be one of these people). He was younger than me and was obviously not socially skilled. He had worn the

Just wondering if any other Exchange admins had their new year’s celebration interrupted due to the “Microsoft Filtering Management Service” being stopped and reports of issues with mail flow?
In the application event logs, I see a bunch of errors from FIPFS service which say: Cannot convert “220101001” to long
If I look back further in the logs, it appears like it all started happening when the “MS Filtering Engine Update” process received the “220101001” update version just over an hour ago at 7:57pm EST.
EDIT: I’ve tried forcing it to check for another update, but it returned “MS Filtering Engine Update process has not detected any new scan engine updates”. ... I’ve temporarily disabled anti-malware scanning, to restore mail flow for now.
TL DR; Microsoft released a bad update for Exchange 2016 and 2019.
Disabling OR bypassing anti-malware filtering will restore mail flow in the interim
UPDATE: according to @ceno666 the issue also seems to occur with the 220101002 update version as well. Could be related to, what I’m dubbing, the “Y2K22” bug. Refer to the comment from JulianSiebert about the “signed long” here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/december-2021-exchange-server-cumulative-updates-postponed/bc-p/3049189/highlight/true#M31885 The “long” type allows for values up to 2,147,483,647. It appears that Microsoft uses the first two numbers of the update version to denote the year of the update. So when the year was 2021, the first two numbers was “21”, and everything was fine. Now that it’s 2022 (GMT), the update version, converted to a “long” would be 2,201,01,001 - - which is above the maximum value of the “long” data type. @Microsoft: If you change it to an ‘unsigned long’, then the max value is 4,294,967,295 and we’ll be able to sleep easy until the year 2043!
~~UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed disabling the malware filtering is the correct course of action for now (workaround to restore mail f

>Halo Infinite multiplayer is truly a love letter to old school shooters and a proper return to the qualities that originally made the series famous. Whether you are looking for smaller, more organised, matches or all-out warfare with vehicles, you have a lot to enjoy in this game.

>The Master Chief's latest adventure feels very solid and has quickly become one of my favorite titles of the year. It is difficult to find FPS with better sensations at the controls than those that Halo Infinite has transmitted to me. From its gunplay, through its artificial intelligence, its performance and of course its spectacular sound section. Without a doubt, an adventure designed for the enjoyment of the player.

The follow up game to 2015's Halo 5: Guardians was always going to be massive. While 343 Industries let down many fans who adore the story these games have offered, the general consensus is that the game's online component was a near must-play experience.
So, where does this journey take us? An interesting toy leak, some "leaked" screenshots, and rumours of a shadow launch dominate the pre-release this time round.
Without further ado, let's jump right in.
SPOILER WARNING FOR THE CAMPAIGN, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Xbox Dynasty is our first major source of information for the game, sharing that the game will have a $500 million USD budget! The article is referencing a podcast where game producer Ralf Adam is having a discussion and is asked specifically about the budget, to where he also confirms that the budget is only accounting for development costs - not including any marketing. This was apparently overheard at GDC, which he allegedly triple checked that it was true.
For comparison, Cyberpunk 2077 is officially the most expensive released video game at $173 million, however there are unconfirmed high budgets for other games. Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 comes in at an estimated 200-300 million, Grand Theft Auto V at $265 million, and Square Enix's disappointing Marvel's Avengers at $170 million. So, what does this mean for Infinite?
Nothing. This is all debunked by Frank O'Connor, saying how hearing something at GDC is about as reliable as the claim that your uncle works at Nintendo.
Outcome? False.
YouTuber Brad Sams has the next juicy claim for the game, cllaiming that now he has overhead that the game will have a Battle Royale mode. It is interesting to note t

Q4 Sales Insights
Ecommerce sales
Rarely were ecommerce sales/metrics mentioned in 2019 quarterly or annual reports. In 2020, mgmt. included ecommerce sales numbers for quarters 2-4, leaving out Q1 2020.
Mgmt. highlighted quarterly ecommerce sales as % of net sales and growth over the prior year’s same quarter. Using these metrics, I was able to back into roughly accurate ecommerce sales numbers for 2019, 2020, and on a quarterly basis.
Starting in 2021, mgmt. did not include any ecommerce sales metrics. I used historical growth metrics with assumptions on impacts from a larger product catalog, price match, improved website UX, and general increased awareness to forecast what quarterly ecommerce sales were in 2021.
Drivers of ecommerce growth include, Ryan Cohen and Matt Furlong’s ecommerce business strategy, increased product catalog, price matching, quicker shipping, and redesigned website.
Foot Traffic
Using Placer.ai data, GameStop’s foot traffic has recovered and surpassed pre-pandemic levels in October, November, and December 2021. This has resulted in increased same store sales growth. Pictures uploaded to SuperStonk confirm this data, thanks apes! Below is 2021 store foot traffic versus 2019.

SG&A
We saw an increase in SG&A QoQ in 2021. This has primarily been driven by a significant increase in headcount associated with new distribution centers, the customer support center, ecommerce strategy, and NFT marketplace build out.
These costs should be expected to continue for a company in transition and building new growth ecosystems.

"You know, I know everyone famous there is to know"
"Go on - Just name someone, anyone, and I bet that know them"
Tired of his boasting, his boss decides to call Dave's bluff,
"OK, Dave, how about Tom Cruise?"
"Not a problem boss"
"Tom and I are old friends, and I can prove it"
So Dave and his boss fly out to Hollywood and knock on Tom Cruise's door.
Tom Cruise is at home and answers the door himself and shouts,
"Dave! What's happening?"
"Great to see you!"
"Come on in for a beer!
Although shocked and more than a little impressed, Dave's boss is still sceptical and he tells Dave that he thinks him knowing Cruise was just pure luck.
"No, no, just name anyone else then"
Dave says.
"President Biden!"
His boss quickly retorts.
"Yup"
Dave says, "We're buddies from years ago"
"Let's fly out to Washington and I'll show you"
So they fly out to Washington and go on the Whitehouse tour"
"While walking through the White House, Biden himself appears, spots Dave on the tour and motions him and his boss over, saying,
"Dave, what a surprise,it's great to see you again after all this time"
"I was just on my way to a meeting but you and your friend come on in and let's have a cup of coffee first and catch up"
After they leave the White House grounds the boss tells Dave that he's still not entirely convinced.
Dave again implores him to name another famous person.
After thinking about it for a long timethe boss replies with,
"The Pope!"
"Sure thing!"
Says Dave,
"I've known the Pope for years - since before he became Pope in fact"
So off they fly to Rome.
Dave and his boss are assembled with the masses in Saint Peter's Square at the Vatican.
Dave says,
"This will never work"
"I can't catch the Pope's eye among all these people"
"Tell you what, I know all the Pope's guards here as well so let me just go upstairs and I'll come out on the balcony with the Pope."
Sure enough, half an hour later Dave emerges with the Pope on the balcony, but by the time Dave returns, he finds that his boss has had a heart attack and is surrounded by paramedics.
Making his way to his boss' side, Dave asks him,
"What happened?"
His boss looks up and says,
"It was the final straw"
"You and the Pope came out on the balcony and a Japanese tourist next to me said, to me... "
"Who the hell is that on the balcony with Dave?"

I have 2 points to show you. First is that Yahoo is showing completely different values depending on your IP. Try using a VPN with a different country and you'll see.
Second is that I stumbled upon the ENTIRE FUCKING GAME PLAN of the naked shorting scheme. I guess an insider spilled the beans anonymously on some forum in 2004.
What is going on with GME over the last 9 months is a game plan called "Cellar Boxing".
The link is at the end of this post. If you don't give a FUCK about the Yahoo data, then just skip to the end and read that. Seriously EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THAT POST. It is like the holy grail. I got emotional reading it as it confirmed all of our combined DD about naked shorting, rule exemptions, dividends, zombies, even talks about shills.....EVERYTHING... in one fell swoop.
I wrote all this Yahoo stuff before I found that link and I just had to stop and stare at the wall for a bit.. This was going to be a much longer post, but I decided to just stick to the facts without speculative walls of text so you're not overwhelmed.
Because trust me, reading that post from 2004 is going to blow your fucking mind. It blew mine and everyone I showed it to.

First thing that stands out to me is Enterprise Value.
According to
Market capitalization is the sum total of all the outstanding shares of a company. Enterprise value takes into account the debt that the company has taken on. Enterprise value, therefore, can identify strengths or weaknesses that market cap cannot.

After dreaming about this day since I made the decision to try and break into the software world I can finally say I've landed a junior developer role and I'm over the moon! These posts have given me a lot of inspiration over my journey the last 2+ years so I wanted to share my experience about breaking into the software field.
Background
I want to say upfront that I do have a bachelors and masters in a non-CS STEM degree so I'm sure that helped me in the process. I have huge respect for all those people that are able to make the switch without a degree, or a non-STEM degree, because I know that makes it even harder. I did a little bit of coding back in college (some Visual Basic and MATLAB) but other than that I went into this with next to no knowledge. I first started to explore the idea of getting into programming a little over 2 years ago but had no idea where to begin. I stumbled upon Codecademy and that is where I started learning the basics. I took their computer science course and C++ course and it definitely got me hooked, but I could tell there was a lot I had to learn. Around a year ago I ran across a video on Youtube of a guy talking about his journey into software and how he broke in without a degree... and from there a lightbulb went off in my head, and I realized that I could actually break into the field without going back to school. I was working full time and going back to school was not an option.
Getting a plan together...
I started scouring the web for resources about how to become a software developer which lead me to this subreddit, along with r/cscareerquestions, and that is where I started to get the idea of what was needed to break into the field: I would need a portfolio of projects to show that I could build software and good coding fundamentals to get through the interview process. Reading people's posts about all the technologies they were learning and building projects with was overwhelming so I know I needed to find a good course to start with that would give me a solid foundation to move on to projects. After looking through a lot of posts I kept seeing this "CS50" course mentioned again and again.
Harvard's CS50: Intro to Computer Science
I cannot state how much this course set me up for success moving forward. I will say upfront that it is a different animal when you're starting out. The hand holding is drastically lower than other courses I had tried (i.e., Codecademy). It s

Big oversight on my part...
Also, I'm already seeing comments about how "well" the game works...
So, when I get shot though the corner, how do I tell if it is the shitty hit detection, or a PC player who's cheating?
This has been nothing short of a masterclass in incompetence.
EDIT #2:
Okay, so this has become...active. let me clarify a few points...
Ahem...
I play on Xbox. There are a whole host of PC centric issues I simply cannot speak to.
Similarly, I have never been a high end ultra competitive/ranked player. In any game. Simply not my thing. Please fill in all the ways that Ranked is fucked up for me...I'm just not that guy.
Lots of bagging on the net code in the comments...maybe this game isn't as rock solid as the shills want us to believe
In the not so long ago, I left a very comfortable job, that while comfortable, was at a dead end, I was a desktop guy, and I was never going to get off the desktop team, and off of On Call. Ever. On Call was 3 weeks on, 7 weeks off. I was some kind of hybrid desktop/Junior sys admin type guy. I was spec’ing out enterprise hardware and then building images for them, Laptops, Desktops, All in One Machines, with 13 diff total images, plus automating out Bulk password resets, account type maintenance AD stuff /w powershell
So in the age before the Great Resignation, before the Vid, I dolled up my resume and I went looking for greener pastures, and I found it. First sys admin Title bump, Pay bump, no on Call. Happily Ever After, or so I had thought
In hindsight my entire interview process was one giant series of Red Flag, after I applied online, they emailed me and wanted me to interview the next day, I actually called in Sick to work to go that interview, after I interviewed at 11, they called me back by 1 with an offer, paperwork by 4. Signed sealed delivered. They told me that they were rushed this because the CIO and Infrastructure manager were both going on Vacation on in 7 weeks and they needed me to backfill both positions. They wanted me to give one weeks notice, but because of the On Call situation at my previous gig, I wasn’t going to go out like that. I gave 3 weeks notice, and enjoyed saying goodbye to a great gig, but onward to greener pastures!
Even though its is spring, the greener pastures are not green. I had 3 weeks to crash course the infrastructure environment to backfill the Infrastructure manager before he went on Vacation to a place where he would not be available to even answer txt messages if I had an emergency to reach him. So, Citrix, backups, AV, Cloud, Exchange, patching, the general environment, the whole shebang. And I did it, Then the CIO takes off the week after and I have to become the Telecom/Network guy (I am not a telecom/Network guy) So I have to crash course that in the next week, and I do that also, nothing broke and I didn’t have an epic chance for glory or failure, but I was stuff daily without a safety net and I wasn’t messing anything up
Both the CIO and the Infrastructure come back and begin the most toxic, most browbeating, micromanaging environment to come into play. I’ve been there 1 month, and I need to make another 2 Months before I pass probation (Am Canadian) 2.5 Months for EI and I have some type of em

These crazy-oversold share prices are a gift from God. The name change to ZASH Global Media & Entertainment alone is telling for shareholders. New CEO Lisa King just gets it.
If you are holding BBIG/ZASH despite some red digital ink. As a battle-tested veteran Researcher & Investor, I can assure you that red digital ink merely means "not yet" and nothing more. Patience and discipline are essential requirements for all investors. BBIG/ZASH has two MB$ income streams that are rock solid in LoMo Records and LoMo the incredible 5-star smartphone app + AdRizer $100M/year + revenue from multiple subsidiaries + spinoff dividend shares of Cryptyde (solid gold), so the only folks selling here are the evil SS period. Ignore all your emotions and turn on your Mr. Spock logic, there is simply no rational reason to panic sell a $54/share stock (minimum) now, tomorrow or two years from now. Hold for the gold!
If you don't understand the delay for BBIG/ZASH audit, SEC form 10 filing, and details on spinoff dividend shares of Cryptyde, well complex audits and SEC compliance take time. BBIG leadership alerted us that form 10 filing could only be completed after the completion of the audit. It's important to read and comprehend the details in SEC filings so you know what to expect going forward. Audits are often delayed. To get an overall, full picture of the current state of our economy as we get closer to MOASS, I started researching the housing market and to figure out the reason why it is at a record high right now. The media keeps reporting it is mostly due to the pandemic, but they ultimately claim that experts cannot explain exactly why. I believe that MSM has been using the pandemic as an excuse as to why the markets are not functioning properly, more than most people think.
If you’re new to investing, a booming housing market seems like it is a positive thing and a possible sign that the economy is improving, that is not the case here. The housing market has most likely hit a record high in reaction to the upcoming economic crash. Extremes are hardly ever a good thing in economics. The system is always trying to find an equilibrium. Therefore, a healthy market will provide slow growth, while extreme highs and lows are traditionally a sign that it is not functioning properly.
If you’ve paid attention to the overall economy, not just GME related data, you’ll see that we have extreme highs and lows across the board. From interest rates to reverse repo operations, crip-toe, hedge fund asset sells-off, or bond sales — record highs and lows everywhere. These are all correlated to the upcoming market crash.
Background of Housing Market
Like I previously mentioned, the media has repeatedly reported that the reason is mostly due to the pandemic, but ultimately claims that experts cannot explain the extreme bull run. It's also not the only reason mentioned, but it's the most common explanation I've heard so far.
... keep reading on reddit ➡Since the time of the NES and Master System, game consoles have had different processors. The seventh generation got weird though, Nintendo ended up with a slightly faster PowerPC chip, simply a faster GameCube CPU, but somehow, Sony and Microsoft had the exact same CPU?
Designing chips is a multi-year process, even back in the early 2000's, especially for something like a games console. In order to have a new console ready, you start working one the old console is in stores. Sony's father of the Playstation, Ken Kutaragi was on the case to figure out what the next Playstation would be built on.
Previous Playstations had used MIPS-based chips, but the growing power of Intel and Windows had caused the MIPS owner SGI to abandon further development. Intel was known for being inflexible with their chips, AMD was too pedestrian for our boy Ken, so who would he turn to? IBM, seemingly.
Why IBM? They were designing PowerPC chips for Apple Macs, and had provided a pretty good chip for Nintendo's GameCube. Not that the next Playstation could make do with an improved existing design, not under Ken's watch! The next Playstation would need a from-scratch CPU, a CPU that would rule the world! Televisions, servers, the best game console! That's how big this design was going to be.
Kutaragi managed to convince Toshiba to join in on this party, so the STI (Sony, Toshiba, IBM) alliance was formed. They would design a next generation chip that would make Intel weep! Now, if IBM could only figure out what team would built the chip...
At the time, IBM had two processor design teams for PowerPC processors, server and microelectrics. The server team built humongous processors that sucked down tons of power and put out tons of heat, not good for a game console. The microelectrics team was experienced in power-efficient designs, but were lower profile in IBM than the server team.
As the contract was a $400 million zinger, the server and microelectrics divisions went back and forth about who would be the designer. But the server team lost, they just didn't have the necessary experience in power-efficient designs. The PS3 processor would be headed by the Austin IBM office headed by the microelectrics division.
Originally, each company in the alliance was intended to contribute 1/3 of the engineers, but Sony and Toshiba engineers were needed to deliver other projects, and IBM ended up with plenty of available eng

However those companies were using Java, python, Ruby, or some other non-Microsoft technology. One company that comes to mind is CapitalOne.
I was wondering which companies use/include a .NET Tech Stack and can "guarantee" (ie. known for paying six figure salaries) for Mid-Level and Senior-Level SE? It doesn't matter to me what the front end is. Obviously Microsoft comes to mind for meeting the criteria but I'm not in a position to just pack up and move to Washington right now.
I prefer companies based in the Richmond, VA area. If there aren't any around here then I guess it's good to know that now so I can start weighing my options down the road.
EDIT: To clarify, I don't necessarily need a company to be only. NET but including that into their tech stack would be helpful since I'm already working with that. There's more than just syntax that comes with switching stacks.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies 😂
Good Morning Apes!
Last night in an unexpected turn of events we got maybe some of the biggest news to come out of GameStop, unofficially, since Ryan Cohen bought in. As GME opened their NFT marketplace to content creators, artists, meme lords, and game developers. But even more interestingly ...

The possibility of a decentralized publishing system for game develops could throw GME directly into competition with companies like Microsoft, Sony, Activision, etc... Offering a way for developers to publish and more importantly fund projects.
Imagine a game developer selling only 100,000 original copies of a game, charging a premium for that fractional IP ownership to develop the game, freeing them from the yoke of current publishing houses. Then the owners of those copies have the right to rent or sell tokenized copies of that game to others across the market place, turning each individual investor into a miniature publishing house.
Game Developers or Individual creators selling unique in-game items through the market place for their favorite games.
The potential is massive, not only could this potentially upset the current ingrained greenlight pathway for new games. It can create jobs and an economic opportunities for millions.
I digress, my tits are too jackked, and I spent a good chunk of the night trying to do things with my toilet.

As for stock market things today, We may see some interest pick up with no official announcement yet we probably won't see straight up FOMO, but we may see some buying of the rumor. As GME prices are at yearly lows, the window of opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this could be rapidly closing.
This also presents and interesting scenario with FTDs due today from Nov. 23 and a $20m ITM put wall erected already to stabilize price while they cover. An uptick in buy pressure could really damage their plans for washing(netting off) FTDs while stagnating the price.

Google has rolled out a monthly security update for its Pixel phones at the beginning of each month for the last several years. The January 2022 update for Pixel phones started rolling out on Tuesday, but Google’s latest Pixel phones — the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro — won’t be receiving the update until later this month. A couple of weeks of delay doesn’t sound like a big deal, but Google previously halted and pulled the big December 2021 update before it rolled out for most Pixel 6 users — meaning most users are running a build that’s two months out of date (and potentially getting their enterprise access revoked). Considering that the January 2022 update fixes the very serious emergency calling bug, it’s a bit worrying that the update has been delayed!
I think it’s fair to say that Google strives to roll out updates as quickly as possible for its own Pixel phones, and indeed no one can argue that Google is slow at rolling out updates. Perhaps the combination of the winter holidays, the laundry list of changes to merge from the first Android 12 Quarterly Platform Release, the switch to developing for its in-house Tensor platform, and carrier testing and retesting resulted in the one-week delay and eventual cancellation of the December 2021 update and the multi-week delay of the January 2021 update. It’s normal for some bugs to go unnoticed before an update goes out, because it’s impossible to catch every issue in the brief time they have to test. Nevertheless, this delay highlights a flaw in how Google handles Android’s monthly security patches, so in this post, I’ll be diving into the monthly security patch process and identify an area where Google could do better.
##The monthly Android Security Bulletin is always on time, even if updates aren’t
Compared to Chrome and Chrome OS, Google has far less control over the distribution of Android. Google has to work more closely with OEMs, who fork AOSP to add their own software features and branding, and SoC vendors, who write the

The new viewers fled, and the show fans were swallowed up, and the subreddits were scattered to the eight corners of the Internet. The reviews were mixed, and the rating was as ashes. The net boiled, and the Watchers envied the Readers. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of a scene that brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the Show. And this scene they named Uncanon.
I was optimistic when the show started, and despite some problems in the pacing, plot changes and some character changes, I was having fun. I understood what the show was trying to do - hide who is the dragon reborn and to introduce the world, its magic and politics mainly through Moiraine and Lan. And overall I liked the show- even though there was barely any Loial and Thom, even though Lan did not ask Rand about the heron-mark blade (and he has almost no connection with the boys), even though they cut Elyas / Caemlyn / Whitebridge, even though we didn't get the iconic bloody prologue - I still loved the show.
Then came episode 8 and in one scene broke the show. Obviously I'm talking about the change that instead of the dragon reborn destroying the trollocs army, the army is destroyed by 5 untrained channelers.
The hit on Rand's arc is big — instead of Rand's demonstrating how strong, terrifying, destructive and epic he can be. that he is not just the most powerful channeler —that he is maybe something beyond, almost godlike if you will. And the other problems are in the world building lore - if 5 untrained channelers could win 10000-20000 trollocs, then surely 100 full Aes Sedai will destroy millions without any trouble. And of course Nynaeve's fake death and Egwene revealed as the Creator- which is downright bad writing.
There were more issues in the episode of course (and in the show in general) but I cut them slack because of production problems, also having the pandemic, also it being only the first season, and a main actor leaving in the middle. But this scene I will not forgive... The idea of showing what happens to someone who draws too much from the power is a good idea, but the execution was terrible. I think the show and the changes in it would have been more forgivable if this scene had been different (the women hold the army off until some of them are starting to burn, Rand arrives and shows how powerful he is).
But despite this I am still looking forward

#How to get it
Windows 11 is an optional update and is now rolling out to compatible computers starting today. This is a slow staged rollout, not everyone is getting it at the same time. Microsoft expects this rollout to complete in mid 2022, so you may be waiting a while for it to come. You can use the instructions below to upgrade early.
Official instructions from Microsoft: https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2021/10/04/how-to-get-windows-11/
Unsure if your PC is compatible? Check with either Microsoft's tool or WhyNotWin11
If your machine is not compatible, depending on what the compatibility issue is you may be able to bypass the restrictions. If only your CPU is not supported, like you have a 6th gen Intel processor but you meet all the other requirements, you can install using the ISO method below and accept the disclaimer. If you other other compatibility issues, you can follow the instructions here, but I strongly recommend against doing this.
Here is Microsoft's disclaimer on installing on unsupported hardware: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/installing-windows-11-on-devices-that-don-t-meet-minimum-system-requirements-0b2dc4a2-5933-4ad4-9c09-ef0a331518f1 and their own instructions on how to install on unsupported devices: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/ways-to-install-windows-11-e0edbbfb-cfc5-4011-868b-2ce77ac7c70e
If your compatibility issue is TPM, Secure Boot, GPT, and UEFI mode, these can often be turned on in your BIOS. These instructions can help get you started, be sure to consult the manual for your PC or motherboard for how to enable TPM and secure boot. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-convert-mbr-disk-gpt-move-bios-uefi-windows-10

> Critics consensus: If it lacks the original's bracingly original craft, The Matrix Resurrections revisits the world of the franchise with wit, a timely perspective, and heart.
Metacritic: 64/100 (50 critics)
As with other movies, the scores are set to change as time passes. Meanwhile, I'll post some short reviews on the movie.
> Resurrections leaves plenty of things unexplored. For a movie that so loudly makes reference to the real world, its failure to address the place “red pill” symbolism has found in right-wing propaganda comes as a mild surprise. (The dialogue even contains the word “sheeple,” a favorite of those selling conspiracies online.) And there’s nothing here to inspire hope that, should Warners or whomever insist on more sequels, they’d be worth seeing. But as someone who watched Reloaded and Revolutions more than once, trying unsuccessfully to believe they were good (and who’d happily take a blue pill that erased them from my memory), I actually look forward to seeing this one a second time.

> Wachowski’s gamble is that viewers will enjoy a film that’s heavy on philosophizing and introspection as long as it retains the emotional, romantic hook that powered the first movie. Reeves and Moss sell their reunion as Neo and Trinity persuasively, glowing with the overwhelming chemistry and affection that Wachowski needed to push the film beyond cynicism.
> All of us are stuck in our reboots. But at a time when mega-budget franchise movies can only be about themselves, Lana Wachowski has made one that pushes beyond the dopamine hit of cheap nostalgia and dares to dream up a future where mainstream films might inspire us to re-imagine what’s possible instead of just asking us to clap at the sight of history repeating itself.

Hi everyone
I posted a money diary a few days ago and a few people were curious about my career path and suggested I share a career/salary diary. Thanks for reading!
Current or most recent job title and industry: Creative Director/Storyteller working in the technology industry (Microsoft)
Current location: I recently relocated to NYC (HCOL) from Seattle. My role is full time remote work! 🙌🏻
Current salary, including bonus, benefits, & perks:
Base: $215,000 base
Bonus: Approximately $43,000 (20%).
Stock: $50,000 vesting each year (I currently receive an annual stock refresh of about $50,000 per year that vests over four years)
Benefits:
- I have great healthcare that costs me $0 per month, with a $5,000 annual deductible for my partner L and I. It has a Health Savings Plan and Microsoft pays $2,000 towards that. I also contribute to it monthly.
- I receive $1200 per year towards health and well being. This is pretax and I can use it for physical health membership/equipment/clothes, financial health education, mental health wellbeing or student loan payments.
Age and/or years in the workforce: I’m 30 and have been working full time for nine years.
Brief description of your current position:
I’m a full time storyteller! I write videos and deliver presentations/demonstrations at events, both with the goal of showing how Microsoft technology changes the lives of our customers and their customers. I love the combination of creativity and the fast pace of the tech industry ✌🏻
Degrees/certifications:
I graduated from a university in England with a Music degree in 2012. It cost $35,000 for three years of tuition, accommodation and living costs. My parents paid for 85% of it and I worked for their business during the holidays to cover the rest of my costs. I LOVED my degree... and equally knew after three years that I absolutely did not want to pursue a career in music 😆 my peers were so passionate about performing (❤️) and my desire just wasn’t great enough to enter into such a competitive industry.
Has having a music degree helped? Yes and no.
Yes - most jobs in England that I was interested in required a degree
No - my degree being music was seen as a negative when I first graduated
Yes - being a creative person has absolutely helped in the creative roles I’ve sought out in the tech industry!
So I’d say it’s definitely net positive🎵
A complete history of jobs leading up to your current position:

DICE announced an update for BF2042 this week and this one particular excerpt from the blog post caught my attention.
"Identifying engine level optimisations and developing solutions will require a lengthier response time from us so that it gets done right. "
They're basically acknowledging that this game needed more time and was rushed to the market. If developers need more time to so that "it gets done right" then maybe not release the f**king game in that state?
It's an insult to our intelligence when developers say shit like they were unaware of the reported issues during the development and internal testing phase. Rockstar didn't know that the Definitive Edition did not meet their quality standards? The myriad of bugs that an average gamer comes across without any effort? It's as if the bugs are sentient and somehow evade detection when the developer is playing the game.
I have more respect for Microsoft now for delaying Halo: Infinite after the feedback instead of rushing it out of the door. It wasn't an easy decision. They wanted to recreate the launch of the OG Xbox by launching a Halo game alongside a new Xbox console. But they chose to miss that once-in-a-five-year opportunity to get it done right. The result? Halo: Infinite is enjoying good reception while half-baked games like BF2042 are struggling to put out the dumpster fire.
Winter is upon us again, and so too is the deluge of posts from lonely folks who want to ascribe their loneliness to some kind of intrinsic antisocial phenomenon unique to this city. I want to be clear that this post isn't an attack on you, nor is it a denial of the difficult feelings you're grappling with.
However, reading these posts over the years has made me feel that this idea of a "Seattle Freeze," while it may feel validating to complain about, is hindering folks from actually making progress building a community for themselves. Seattle is not some coherent entity that hates you, and nor does moving here magically prevent people from following through on social commitments. You can get a lot out of Seattle depending on what you put in, but if you're putting the same things in every time and getting an undesired result, it might be time you reconsider how you're approaching things. Although I'm writing this from the perspective of Seattle being my home, note also that most Seattleites are transplants. This phenomenon is a product of everyone's differing goals and social norms, not just something restricted to locals.
This is long, so you've been warned.
Seattle has always been a frontier town. You never hear about someone who "retired to downtown Seattle," or "moved to SLU just to explore their life." Many people aren't just "here," they're here for a reason. (We wouldn't pay these rents if we weren't!) In the past Seattle was the jumping-off point for the Yukon gold rush, the center of the Northwest logging industry, and the capitol of coffee. Now a new gold rush is upon us, and it should be no surprise that it comes with all the competition, stress, and ruthlessness of gold rushes past. Seattle's seen it before, and it will see it again - this era isn't special just because the gold is in PCB traces instead of the ground. The homelessness situation isn't new, either.
This can make for a strange environment for people who come from areas where more people are life-focused (e.g. a long-term home, a family, friends) over goal-focused (e.g. career, degree, hobby/athletic pursuit). This of course doesn't exclude a goal-focused person from having a family, only that they wouldn't have a family here were it not for their goal.
Especially in the Midwest, where land is cheap and space is plentiful, new people can mean excitement and the fun of mak

I was raised believing if you work hard and apply yourself you will be successful. For 2 years I learned everything that I could in the construction industry. Took my work home with me and studied on my own time to better myself. For that I was promoted to foreman. I was brought into take over a small project at a 12 building 120 unit condo complex. It started small and the Board of Directors for the HOA told me they loved my professionalism, work ethic, and ability to complete projects on time, and under budget. We won a big contract because of that small project. That was3 years ago. I have since taken over the job of foreman, superintendent, & project manager. I do the billing, meetings with engineers and board members, scheduling, take off, material ordering, I even train the subs on application of new products because we didn’t have enough mid management. The project just passed $2.7M. We got a bid request for another $3M job in the same complex. This boosted my confidence and I went to the owners asking for the raise they promised me 1 year ago for my production. They told me “the experience you’re gaining is far more valuable” I said you’re right. After a couple of weeks of tinkering, I think I finally found the best plan moving forward. I sacrificed quality for quantity last week with the last 14 day charts, which I personally thought was great as it covered over 200 players, providing a ton of options for y'all, especially if you lost out on a certain streamer. Moreover, I added SH% category to help identify if a player is on an unsustainable heater or if they can be a long-term hold. However, u/var18 raised a question in regards to interpreting the data from the tables which I can see how it can cause confusion.
So moving forward, I'll continue with identifying 20-30 players who I think are some of the best waiver pickups for the week. I've also decided to remove the table from the Weekly Preview section and instead, write out my thoughts for the week which was something I did last year. You guys and gals will spend less time scrolling and it will be a lot more helpful to ensure that the quality is there. Sometimes, reading is easier than crunching the numbers. I totally get it.
But man does it feel good to finally have time to write about some hockey. Well actually, I'm procrastinating and sacrificed a bit of my exam studying time. But it's okay, everyone's eating this week. Speaking about this week, let's jump straight into this week's guide, shall we?
#Week Preview
Look Mom, I'm on TV!
This week features the first team with a 5 game schedule with the winner being the Anaheim Ducks. So make sure you go ahead and pick up those Ducks to get in as many games as you can for the week.
10 teams are slated to play 4 games this week and those teams are CAR, COL, DAL, MIN, NSH, NJD, NYR, PHI, STL, and VAN.
Luckily for you guys and gals, all the other teams play 3 games this week so no one will be missing out on the action!
Maximizing your schedule
When it comes to maximizing your schedule, COL and VAN are the two teams to target as they play 4 games on off-days! Per Mike Chambers of The Denver Post, Darcy Kuemper could return either against PHI or NYR during their road trip. While VAN is currently a dumpster fire (P.S. don't fire Benning, I think that he's a great GM and the league loses if he goes!!!), all four of their games are at home.
NJD, NYR, and PHI are some other good options as not only do they have 3 off-day games, they play a total of 4 games this week. VGK also have a 3 of

##What even is Haruhi?
Excerpt from its MAL page:
>Kyon, your typical high school student, has long given up his belief in the supernatural. However, upon meeting Haruhi Suzumiya, he quickly finds out that it is the supernatural that she is interested in—aliens, time travelers, and espers among other things. When Haruhi laments about the lack of intriguing clubs around school, Kyon inspires Haruhi to form her own club. As a result, the SOS Brigade is formed, a club which specializes in all that is the supernatural.
>Much to his chagrin, Kyon, along with the silent bookworm, Yuki Nagato, the shy and timid Mikuru Asahina, and the perpetually smiling Itsuki Koizumi, are recruited as members. The story follows the crazy adventures that these four endure under their whimsical leader, Haruhi. The story is based on the light novels by Nagaru Tanigawa.
##Why should I care?
Haruhi turns 15 years old this year (scarily its probably as old as some of you reading this), and since its release has had a lasting popularity within the general anime community with its ED specifically, Hare Hare Yukai, being copied (and parodied) countless times since 2006. It was by far one of the most popular anime of its time, being ranked 36th highest rated on MyAnimeList when Season 2 started airing. While that popularity compared to some of its other 2006 counterparts hasnt been as strong, its still has a massive lasting impact, being a helping push for light novel adaptions and making good use of the internet and streaming services to promote the show (Hare Hare Yukai and its BLF teaser specifically). It even has its own "religion" (haruhiism if you're curious). Even 15 years later the show endures, with the original light novels having a full reprint last ye

Clickbaity article titles aside, it’s a long one. It happened two days ago and I’m still giddy. Enjoy!
All the below names are pseudonyms.
There are two important background things to know for the story:
1.) I was diagnosed with a rare ovarian cancer at the beginning of this year (I had surgery and some chemo and am mostly recovered now). I still have to go in for frequent testing and occasional monitoring. I am a private person to the extent that I have dated people for years without telling my parents, so you best believe random coworkers and bosses are unaware of my medical history.
2.) I attend a university that has an ambassador program. Basically if you have a high enough GPA you are able to interview for the program and if you get in they pay for your tuition during the time you are an ambassador. In exchange you work 5 hours a week and work graduation/other events. I am one of these ambassadors. This is my story. Law and Order sound effect

My supervisor for the ambassador program, Ms. M, has spent the majority of our time together belittling me. As I sit here about to type about her, I find myself already exasperated thinking about reliving some of the details, so I will be short and sweet for both your sake and mine: she follows every rule to the letter and leaves no room for collaboration or discussion.
As an example, we use Microsoft teams for communication, and she has us clock in and out in a group of 20 people by saying “I’m here” and “I’m leaving.” So every day you have to scroll through dozens of messages to find anything of import and listen to notification sounds every time someone so much as takes a lunch break. I suggested using the time clock function on teams and even offered to set it up for us, and was told that I was “deliberately undermining her position.”
Another quick example is her vehemence when I told her I didn’t have any social media (to advertise the college). She was certain I was lying and went so far as to ask the other ambassadors to try and “find” me.
They didn’t. There’s nothing to find. Crazy concept.
I’ve challenged her at a couple of junctures, but ultimatel

>In the end though it’s hard to fault what 343 Industries has accomplished with Halo Infinite. It’s very much the spiritual successor it purports to be -- with forward thinking design and elements that flow in a way that reminds you of the timeless nature of the fluid, stylish combat of old. The lack of co-op is something you feel, but in terms of cinematic spectacle this is the Master Chief carrying the flag once more for Xbox. Albeit in that new-school form of being able to jump in and, well, play anywhere.

>Unencumbered by the baggage of the upcoming story campaign, Halo Infinite Multiplayer is arguably the definitive incarnation of the franchise’s online competitive component and is strong enough to stand on its own despite its F2P leanings.

Outcome? Claimed to be false, but is Frank lying?
YouTuber Brad Sams has the next juicy claim for the game, cllaiming that now he has overhead that the game will have a Battle Royale
