A list of puns related to "Techtv"
Is there someone in this community who is willing, or interested, in converting 200+ [original] DVC tapes of TechTV's Unscrewed to be uploaded on Archive.org?
I know there is some large scale projects for converting old television, but this is legitimately lost content.
If anyone has an interest, or could point me to a specific contact, please let me know!
Is there someone who is willing, or interested, in converting 200+ [original] DVC tapes of TechTV's Unscrewed?
Martin is looking for someone that wants to do this. Unfortunately the most recent format I can (rapidly) convert myself is Digital8. Since this is legitimately lost media I thought someone here might have the desire.
If there's a person or community anyone could direct me to, I would sincerely appreciate it.

Is there a show similar to TechTV use to be? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TechTV
I'm not too worried about the platform (youtube/netflix/amazon/etc) but am basically interested in a bingeable, entertaining, informative show about technology. Ideally tips, tricks, and news.
As someone who watched (in real time) G4 absorb and kill TechTV in the mid 2000s, I'm gonna say now what I didn't have the balls or platform to say back then: DUDE! STAHP!
Let's look at this logically for half a second. What are the two most successful programs that came out of G4? (Not counting ninja warrior because it doesn't speak to my narrative)
Xplay and Attack of the Show.
But AotS wasn't always AotS was it? No. It used to be The Screen Savers. And where did both Xplay and The Screen Savers originate?
TECH.
T.
V.
So I say unto you, powers that be, open your horizons up to reclaim some of the TechTV that was once lost due to a shoddy merger. Give us some Call For Help. Give us some Anime Unleashed. Give us some Fresh Gear. Give us some, dare I say? UNSCREWED WITH MARTIN SARGENT.
2020 (or I guess at this point, it's looking more like 2021) can handle these things that TV execs thought couldn't be handled by 2006.
Sure, we love video game television programming. But maybe, just maybe, us smelly nerds will want more than JUST video games. Maybe tie that in to internet and general tech to help appeal to a slightly wider audience.
End rant.
TL;DR I'm more nostalgic for TechTV than G4 so, whereas, I love G4, I think the G4 reboot would benefit from rebooting some old TechTV properties or ideas as well.
I am currently collecting any VHS recordings of anime unleashed from TechTV. I have asked around and have not had any luck finding someone who could possibly have VHS tapes. I thought there'd be no better place to ask then here.
most of the episodes I have include the commercial breaks. I currently have the following listed below recorded off TechTV.
Betterman
Crest_Of_The_Stars
Dual TechTV Airings
Gad_Guard
Gatekeepers
Last_Exile
Silent Mobius
I would love to add "Lain" to my collection. I am willing to either buy or trade for any TechTV VHS tapes that you guys may possibly have in your possession. If anyone is interested please get in contact with me. My apologies if my post breaks any rules!
I really want to watch this show, but I do not want to watch the home media releases (vhs, dvd, bluray, streaming). I want to experience this show through a home recording of the show off techtv. Would anyone here have such a thing? I am willing to pay.
This has haunted me for years but I've never been able to track it down.
My memories of it is hazy, but I remember it being on TechTV (I think, could've been G4 by then) and it being part of some kind of top-ten-like show (possibly filter) that showed clips from the anime/videogames sometimes with music(?)
The clip in particular was an anime or anime cutscene about people (kids?) who were getting addicted to some kind of videogame like it was a drug. I distinctly remember someone vomiting over the withdrawal of not being able to play it (or playing too much of it?) I remember there being a hard-cut to footage of the videogame, and it being rendered in 3d as opposed to the 2d animation previously, but I cannot remember if it was actual game-footage or if it was just cgi animation. Aside from it being 3d animated, and possibly having a girl character, I can't remember much else.
It's possible that I merged two unrelated things together, and the videogame/cgi section was actually an unrelated game that came next in the top-ten, but I'm not sure.
The memories of this show are closely tied to another show called eyedrops but it has too different of a format to fit.
Any information would help! I'll try to answer any other questions anyone might have for what I can remember (though I think I listed everything I can remember)
I'm curious if anyone has any leads for any of the TechTV extended play episodes from May 2001, especially the episode that aired on May 25th 2001, the reason for this Is that I'm looking for the preview of Age of Mythology that X-Play showcased.
