Root Metrics Coverage Map - UWB
I have admittedly geeked out in the speeds and coverage Iβm getting on Verizon UWB in Chicago. In many areas they literally have small cells and mmWave on every corner of major roads.
So, Iβve been doing speed tests in Root Metricsβ Coverage Map app. Generally it would almost immediately register my speeds. But lately it hasnβt been registering my incredible UWB speeds.
Any reason why? Maybe Root Metrics isnβt allowing mmWave speed tests?

Does mAP(Mean Average Precision) metric considers classification accuracy?
From reading about mAP, it seems like it only considers the performance in terms of the predicted and ground truth bounding boxes overlap, but not the classification accuracy inside the bounding boxes themselves. Does it mean that a detector can have high mAP even though it's classification accuracy is very bad?
Thanks

Uniformly continuous map from convex bounded set to a metric space
Let E be a normed space, (X,d) a metric space and A β E a convex bounded set. Let f: A β X be uniformly continuous. Show that f(A) is bounded.
I have been struggling with this question for days now and I cannot figure out how to prove it. It doesn't seem to follow the regular epsilon-delta manner. Any help would be appreciated. By convexity of A I have that for any x,y \in A, also kx + (1-k)y \in A and by boundedness of A I have that for any x,y \in A |x-y| <= M.

Would you be interested? I have the data but should I do the analysis?
P.S. If this post looks familiar I was the guy who did the World Cup Solos analysis about a year ago. So if you liked that, this post would be more of the same with some new ideas.

Trying to make a Viewshed map but my 'Raster Data is not in a metric system'
I'm trying to make a viewshed map in QGIS using the Visibility Analysis plugin.
I downloaded the DEM data from Earthdata.nasa.gov.
I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions perfectly. But when i try to create the viewpoints, it tells me:
"ERROR!
Raster data has to be projected in a metric system!"
Is this an issue with the DEM data?

What metrics do you think a fair map drawing process should prioritize?
Automated software has been created which claims to create "fair" district maps, but "fair" is an inherently subjective term. I was wondering how everyone on here would go about defining "fair" in the context of district maps. The first thing that comes to mind is that the percentage of votes any given party receives should be as close as possible to the percentage of seats they win in the election. This method, however, ignores that you could draw districts in such a way that the bottom half of each party's candidates as measured in popularity get elected but the election still seems "fair" via this metric. Trying to create as many competitive races as possible would help prevent situations where any race is so lopsided that citizens of the opposing party feel their vote doesn't matter, however this may border on manipulation as one candidate may just be more popular and through this process end up with an artificially difficult election.
The solution to this problem will likely require a balancing act of many objectives, however this raises the question of the relative weights of different measures of fairness.

Google Maps in metric
Does anybody know how to get Google Maps in my browser to default to metric for directions? I'm in the UK, and I use metric for measuring distance when cycling, and I don't want to have to switch to km and m every time I look up directions. I've tried using .de instead of .co.uk, but it still defaults to miles and feet. Google can remember any other settings I change, but seemingly not units of measurement. The same applies to wind speed for weather results in my browser.

Is there an interesting generalization of metric spaces to functions that aren't metrics, but rather continuous maps into other topological spaces?
It seems to me like it should be possible to formulate the definition of a metric space in terms of requiring some map related to the metric to be a continuous function into R^>=0 , which sort of naturally makes me wonder if there is a more general formulation of this. What do I google?

Make metric measurements the default in the USA on smartphones, Google Maps, Microsoft Office, etc. to get Americans to warm up to the metric system
Sure it would cause a lot of confusion at first but if we all slowly started getting more accustomed to the metric system virtually it would help us all to move in the direction toward full adoption. An easy way to do this is to make metric the default in what we see every day. What if tech companies and software companies started making metric the default in devices?
