For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Decepciones y fiascos seguro hubieron muchos, pero yo me quedo pensando en que me hubiera gustado ver con más rodaje a Marcelo Cañete. Un poco de contexto para los desmemoriados: año 2011, Boca andaba de gira de pretemporada por Oceanía jugando contra equipos fantasmas que formaban con más white collar slaves que jugadores profesionales (de fútbol). Como es típico de esas giras que se hacen cuando la mayor parte de tu plantel sigue de vacaciones, se saca a pasear a los pibes de inferiores para que traigan souvenirs de países exóticos a cambio de correr unos minutos. En esos encuentros, que vi trasnochado esperando hasta las 5am a que empiece la previa, jugaron los típicos cabezas rapadas que debutaban con el primer equipo, y por su juego elegante y dinámico destacó Marcelo "el Chelo" Cañete. En resumen Boca hizo una pretemporada para el espanto, empatando con equipos mediocres, pero trajo una buena sensación que se enfocaba en la promesa del enganche Cañete.
Too bad que por ese entonces el equipo lo dirigía el Bichi Borghi. Ni bien comenzó el torneo local, ese Boca demostró ser uno de los equipos más nefastos del siglo XXI. En su insistencia por la línea de 3 en el fondo (anotá: Caruzzo - Insaurralde - Cellay; mamita...) al equipo le entraban por donde sea. Para colmo, era el tiempo en que Riquelme se la pasó más tiempo tomando mate en la enfermería que en el gimnasio, por lo que faltaba el enganche. Mi pensamiento fue "bueno, es hora de darle lugar al pibe Cañete" pero no... el buen Borghi se la jugó por Damián Escudero (quién??) un perro arrastrado que trajeron de Vélez que en todo su tiempo en el club no habrá conectado 3 pases seguidos con sus compañeros. Cañete tuvo sus esporádicas participaciones entrando algunos minutos en partidos que ya estaban condenados desde que el árbitro había pitado el comienzo. Luego Boca lo cede a préstamo afuera y se pasa su carrera por distintos clubes sudamericanos pero desapareciendo por completo del radar xeneize (si no recuerdo mal, pasó por Colo Colo, la U de Chile y creo que también por el fútbol brasilero).
No estoy diciendo que Cañete me parecía la siguiente estrella mundial, pero pienso que era una joya que el club no supo aprovechar bien porque se veía claramente que tenía cualidades: encarador, con pisada, aguantaba bien la pelota de espalda o pinchaba balones buscando algún compañero en el área, o por lo menos así se vió lo que hizo en aquella fatídica gira internacional.
