A list of puns related to "Mariners Apartment Complex"
This is my all time favorite song Lana song. It's so honest and I think it's an anthem for us misunderstood sensitive folks as people tend to view us as weak for being vulnerable. As a young woman, I think it also perfectly describes how society views me, especially in the sense of people taking what I say out of context and thinking that when I'm kind, I'm weak, and that means people can walk over me. This song really hits home for me.
I want to know, does anyone else feel the same way about this song? Does it perfectly describe who they are as a person? How people view them? What are some of your favorite lyrics from the song? What does this song mean to you?
Title
donβt get me wrong i love the song nfr but i feel like MAC would have been a strong opener for the album
the way the verses sync into each other is so smooth and seamless, the instrumentals are amazing and so is the lyricism/story telling. Her best song (in my opinion)
:)
That's it.
It's pretty unique imo.
I'm a 27 year old male from the UK. I hold such a special affinity for this song. The first time I heard it I was on a solitary walk with my headphones on, just listening to a random playlist. It stuck with me and made me become a huge Lana fan. Each time I hear the song I have to give it my full attention and feel my mind just enjoy the experience. To this day it's probably still my favourite song of hers.
Solar Power reminds me of it and I love this new style for Lorde
After listening to NFR a few times I kept getting the melody of Mariners Apartment Complex stuck in my head. It was too familiar. Liz Phair? Nope. Several threads attempted to answer. Nothing scratched the itch. Everything is archived. I never got the answer.
Finally my brain sorted it out. In case someone else never got their answer. For me it was Blackest Eyes by Porcupine Tree.

I love Mariners Apartment Complex song. Tonight, while I was listening to it, I got curious about the story and the meaning of it.
So I googled it and it turns out that she talked about it in a radio interview: Lana was late night walking with a man she was seeing and they stopped by a Mariners Apartment Complex. While, he put his hand around her shoulder he told her, βI think we are together because weβre both similar, like weβre both really messed up.β Lana thought that this is the saddest thing she has ever heard. βI didnβt live a sad life and Iβm doing pretty goodβ, Lana said. Her words upset him, so she felt that she had to write this song and βsort of step on that role where I was showing the way and I was sort of being the brighter lightβ as she said in the interview.
Now, donβt you think itβs kinda weird and anti-feminist to say βIβm your manβ in the song? I love Lana Del Rey, I love all her songs and I adore this song. But it feels kinda weird whenever I listen to this part. I donβt know if this is only me and my feminist ass lol, or if any girl thought the same? All what Iβm saying is that, I can support him and show him the way without being βa manβ. Women genuinely do this all the time! What do you think girls?
Also, for men donβt you think itβs kinda weird if your gf tells you βIβm your manβ as a βI got your backβ?

Please discuss her new songs here to avoid lots of repetition and generalized clutter.
Any links, discussion, opinions, memes, whatever regarding her two new songs/album discussion/BBC Radio 1 interview need to be in this thread.
Thank you all for understanding. <3 If your thread was removed, it's nothing personal. There's been so many new threads with the introduction of this new era it's hard to keep up.
I was perusing Lana Del Rey's new album, and the song "Mariners Apartment Complex" has an intro that sounds like another song. My memory is suggesting the artist might be a British male from the mid 2000s, a la Radiohead, Gorillaz, or Damon Alburn.
Here's the song: https://soundcloud.com/lana-del-rey/mariners-apartment-complex
This could be way off, but I feel like the lyrics are something like "We don't talk as much since you went away."
I'm not thinking of Karma Police.

My interpretation of a bit of the song
Please, please help.
I just listened to melodrama for the first time on 06/22/20 and when I heard βwriter in the darkβ it sounded so much like βmariners apartment complexβ. Was wondering if anyone else noticed that as well?
You lose your way, just take my hand You're lost at sea, then I'll command your boat to me again Don't look too far, right where you are, that's where I am I'm your man I'm your man
The album version of MAC feels much quieter than the single used to be and compared to the previous track too. I always find myself turning the volume up for MAC, I wish someone from Lanaβs team fixed it.,,
It's driving me crazy the original as a single they removed and it sounds different on the album. does anyone know if they changed it?
Iβm a bit late to the party but this song is so beautiful it gave me goosebumps. That is all
I rarely hear Lana on the radio and if I do itβs like summertime sadness.
