EDIT: thank you for the answers, most make sense and answer my concern. The notion of other beings and other realms is fine as it’s the unseen, and can neither be verified nor disproven.

One other point that was raised was the idea that previous Buddha before Gautama, Kassapa Buddha in the suttas is mentioned to have been born in a very specific location which isn’t possible considering the time difference between the two. Any addresses to this comment?

So I’ve recently been having difficulty with this particular topic. The scriptures, Pali canon, in particular talks about past Buddhas of the human realm Aeons ago (millions of millions of years) but science has discovered that humans haven’t been around nowhere near that long. Similarly people predict Maitreya Buddha to come in some more millions of years even trillions of years time. But how is this even possible? Science has proposed many things that the sun will die out for example, the earth will become uninhabitable, humans will cease to exist etc. Buddhism has always been a way of life that aligns closely to science but in this instance it’s just way over my head. Surely isn’t this unscientific and possibly illogical? Any insights or reconciliation would be greatly appreciated.

Before anything, let me explain a bit. My SL account has been around for 3 years. I was really active during the first half then I got busy. I decided to come back but I’ve gotten a bit rusty on the technical stuff and I’m also a bit lost on a few things.

I have a Maitreya Lara mesh body which I got in 2019. It’s outdated and I heard there was an update in 2020. I have googled as hard as I can on how I can get that update right now and I did not find clear answer. I went to the store in SL and I could not find it so I chatted on there to ask but nobody replied. Can you please help me out?

Also, I’d be glad to meet new people who can walk me through the new things in SL or just anyone I can hang out with.

The ways of search be manifold, but on each of these, I am ready to meet my own. And through these my own will I speak, will I walk amongst men when the hour strikes; not confined to one recognized medium or vehicle, but wherever the light of aspiration is kindled within a heart, there is my medium, there my vehicle.

For the Buddha has declared, "Bhikshus, in a single moment, you are born, you age, you die, you transmigrate, and you are reborn."

>"'Then might the prophecy concern birthlessness? But birthlessness applies to the stage of destiny for the ultimate, in which there is neither prophecy nor attainment of perfect enlightenment.

>"'Therefore, Maitreya, is your reality from birth? Or is it from cessation? Your reality as prophesied is not born and does not cease, nor will it be born nor will it cease. Furthermore, your reality is just the same as the reality of all living beings, the reality of all things, and the reality of all the holy ones. If your enlightenment can be prophesied in such a way, so can that of all living beings. Why? Because reality does not consist of duality or of diversity. Maitreya, whenever you attain Buddhahood, which is the perfection of enlightenment, at the same time all living beings will also attain ultimate liberation. Why? The Tathagatas do not enter ultimate liberation until all living beings have entered ultimate liberation. For, since all living beings are utterly liberated, the Tathagatas see them as having the nature of ultimate liberation.
