A list of puns related to "MG Midget"
What is the best and most compatible, wiring for a 76 midget? I found out that the current stock one is pretty unreliable and honestly horrible not to mention outdated, I would like to use a Miata wiring. I think it would be pretty similar but I would like some help from those whoβve done the swap. I would like to have some what modern fuses because the glass ones are some what of a pain. What do you guys recommend and thank you in advance for the help!
My skillset is high and my budget is healthy. Any help would be much appreciated.
Do you guys know of the threads that the egr threads into the manifold? I'm looking to get the valve out and plug the hole it threads into.
hi all im looking at buying a old mg midget and the seller said that the engine and drive train are sound aside from a noisy release bearing just wondering if this is a bad thing and weather to stay away from this car and also if there's anything else I should look for if I go to look at it (not rust I know that one) many thanks - twig
Recently got a MG Midget for a good price with a Buick 231 odd-fireV6 swap. I bought it knowing i'd have to replace the motor from the get go but I didn't know how difficult it is to get a replacement 231. Any suggestions on a "drop-in" engine replacement? The current engine has a tick on high revs but the car runs "ok"

Can you put a 2jz in a 76 midget? I know it would be a sin but still curious.
For under $5000CAD? I'm ready to give up on Miatas as prices keep running up. What would it take to turn an old MG into something that doesn't require constant maintenance? Engine swaps? Suspension, brakes, transmission?
How much is a 132,000 mile 1978 midget worth? Rebuilt engine at 125,000 and has no rust, good paint and interior.
All,
I'm from Cleveland Oh, and I bought a 1972 mg midget back in 1990. I drove it for a couple years, had the motor redone, and redid the body somewhat. I was only 16 with limited tools but the car was drivable and fun. I went to college and my dad packed it on block in the garage outside of Cleveland
Fast forward 30 years and my dad passed away and I need to do something with the Midget. I was going to just sell it and reduce my risk.
but..... Where's the fun in that?
So I'm entertaining the Idea of having someone pick up the car and taking it to someone that can restore it realizing that I'll never recover that money, but that's alright. Then I'd bring it to Raleigh NC and keep it in storage to be driven on the weekends. I'd need someone here in Raleigh that can help me keep it put together. Tuning a dual carb motor is out of my comfort zone.
FWIW I used to take it to Specialty Parts and Services in Medina OH, but I think he's not doing work anymore.
