A list of puns related to "Triumph Spitfire"
I'm looking to get a Triumph Spitfire Mk3/4 as a project in the coming year in CA. My goal is for a budget starting at $3k with some more to get the car reliable and then do some performance modifications slowly after.
Just wondering from those with experience, how are they to work on? Rust isn't an issue here luckily, I'm just wondering about what kind of money it'll take, as I've heard they are simple to fix. I have experience with my Fiero... the most expensive $1000 car aroundπ€
Performance mods would be aiming for ~100 hp which seems to be reasonable from what I've seen, along with some handling and safety upgrades.
Any advice or comments are greatly appreciated.
Can anybody with a late (78-80) Spitfire 1500 let me know some specs (diameter and thickness on the steering wheel? I'm thinking of the all black three-spoke with the thick rim.
I have to say that it's the best feeling wheel in any car I've owned.
I've replaced: spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, ignition wires and ignition coil. Car is still idling rough. I believe it to be a misfire. I also sealed a leak on aftermarket Weber carburetor. Carburetor is fairly new. The emissions system has been deleted. And I am going check the gap on the spark plugs tomorrow. Apart from all the above what else may cause a rough idle?
