Interesting emitter: Lumileds Luxeon HL2X

I was just looking at emitters with high CRI and colder tint and stumbled across something really interesting:

The Lumileds Luxeon HL2X.

5700K with 90CRI sound great and it's the same dimensions as the Luminus SST-20 or CREE XP-L HI…

Anybody tried this emitter already? How's it compared to the Luminus SST-20 4000K (besides color temperature)?

Hi guys

I have to decide between two lights. One using Lumiled 3030 2d leds, the other using samsung 301h leds.

Is there a huge difference in the two? Im getting lost between all the techinalc specs when it comes down to it

12 Lumileds LED's powered by a USB - good advice needed..

Hi on Reddit,

I'm currently working on a 10 prototypes of a LED Lamp emitting a specific blue light and controlled by a Beetle Arduino Leonardo Board (https://www.dfrobot.com/product-1075.html). The lamp is controlled through some software installed on the computer and/or a simply on/off button on the lamp. It's essential the brightness can be controlled using the software. However, I can't figure out how to do that - power and control the LED's? (LMXL-PB01-0023, https://www.lumileds.com/uploads/265/DS68-pdf).

Looking in the specs for the LED's it seems like they are working at a forward voltage of approx. 2.6-3.2 V and a current of 350 mA (seems really high!!). Would it be possible to power all of these LED's using a USB (5V, 0.5 A), if they are all in parallel? I guess the combined current usage would be around 3,5 A, which is too high. If, I can't power the LED's using a USB, I need a seperate power supply. How do I control that using the Beetle? I'm not experienced with electronics so I do really hope you can provide some good advice.

Best regards Mads
