A list of puns related to "Ludo (board game)"
My board game is an arena battle between fantasy character like dwarves and elves and other heroes. The name is Latin and means death games. Would you be interested in a game called "Mortem Ludos"? If you have any additional thoughts let me know.
Ok! I'm CRAZY to remember this one, i swear. It's a game where i played as a kid, so i really don't have much info about it (partial amnesia, I've only been recovering memories recently)
Style: Cartoonish, the only player character i remember is a Frankenstein, maybe there's a vampire, a boy and a girl
Gameplay: It can be played in multiplayer or against AI. As specified in the title, the players/characters will roll the dice in each one's turns, and depending in what number it falls, they will put the piece in the board where it opens a different mini game every turn.
I remember 4 types of mini games:
One is this (non card)solitaire using red/pink gems with a witch in the screen, this solitaire is the type where you skip over the gems to make only one left. Other is those garage things where you move cars left/right up/down to free the path so your car can get out.
Other is like, there's 3 jars, a big, medium and a small one, the mission is to divide water between all three to have the same level.
The last i remember is a lot of dogs, some are standing up, some down, you'll click in each dog so 3(or more) will sit/stand, the mission is to make them all sit(or stand, I don't remember).
So that's all, thanks in advance!
There should be a block called "game board". This block would sometimes generate in villages and could be sold by librarians for 36 emeralds, similar to bells. It can be mined with anything, no need for silk touch, and the axe is the fastest tool. This block would allow you to play board games against villagers, provided that you have the correct rulebook, more on that later.
The block itself doesn't work unless you add 2-4 stairs of any kind around it. They do not need to be the same type of stairs either, but they need to be oriented in such a way that they look like chairs. Once you've done that, you can click on one of the stairs, and if there is any villager nearby, they would come close and a game would start. As many villagers as there are chairs and the game would allow to play wil show up, if there are enough nearby. If there are more than needed nearby, some villagers will just assist the match looking from the side.
The game board block can store a rulebook, and the way it works is similar to banner patterns in looms, except it will persist even if you close the UI. The rulebook will determine which game will be played. If a game is started without a rulebook, the game will be checkers. Rulebooks can be obtained, again, in a similar way to banner patters, usually by crafting a book with other items, but also in other ways.
These could be some ideas for rulebooks:
You can add more ideas in the comments. (don't)
The skill level of the villager depends on its profession. From easiest to hardest: farmer, butcher, sh
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hello peeps, me and my sister are trying to find a game we played when we were younger and despite numerous google searches and browsing all the images repertoire, we had no results.
Plarform: PC
Genre: Board game, 3th person, turn-based
Estimated year of release: I just know I was about 10 when I played it in 2003. I assume it was released around that time.
Graphics/ art style: Cartoonish, the camera was angled at 45Β° to the player's pieces each turn. Bright colors in general. The pieces had eyes and hands.
Notable characters: The pieces were customizable, you could choose to give them a warrior helmet, cleric robe, etc...
Notable gameplay mechanics: If I remeber correctly, the dice were thrown on the board and hit it each turn. There was no ambient music as long as I can remember though there were voices and sound effects.
Other information: The pieces used to say the prompt: "Me, me master". Not sure when I hovered over them or if it was random.
EDIT: I found it, it's : "Don't get angry", I just wrote board game pc 3D on the google bar :)
Thought it'd make a great gift, but it doesn't seem to exist. Thought it's be an obvious idea considering four colors/four houses.
Fatwa from [IslamWeb] (https://www.islamweb.net/en/fatwa/366817/playing-dice-games-online)
>It is impermissible to play dice-rolling games even in electronic form. Forbidding it is not restricted to playing it with the hand in real life; Abu Moosa Al-AshΚ»ari, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, sallallahu βalayhi wa sallam, said, βWhoever plays with dice has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.β [Maalik and others]
Fatwa from SeekersGuidance
>As Shaykh Faraz Rabbani has explained, some scholars have stated that games that involve dice are not inherently impermissible. Rather, they are only impermissible when accompanied with gambling, neglecting prayer, and the like. The majority of scholars, however, stated that games of dice are impermissible on account of involving dice even if there is no gambling involved. This is, of course, the more precautionary position to follow.
Fatwa from Islamqa
>It was narrated by Muslim (2260), Abu Dawood (4939), Ibn Maajah (3763) and Ahmad, from Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: βWhoever plays with dice, it is as if he were dipping his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig > >Ludo is not excluded from that, because it is a game that relies on use of the dice, as is the case with backgammon. It is composed of the game board, the dice and four pieces of different colours, one for each player. Each player puts his piece in the middle of the circle on the board, then the first player rolls the dice and answers the question in his circle according to the number of the dice that he rolls. If he answers correctly, he moves out of the circle to the start, but if he gives the wrong answer he stays where he is, then the dice passes to the next player, and so on. Because the game is based on rolling the dice, as in the case of other dice games, it is a prohibited game.
So the title is pretty self explanatory. My mom and I have had a turbulent relationship since I was a child. Thereβs a lot we donβt agree on but weβve come closer since sheβs the only parent Iβm in contact with. Iβve been living with her since the pandemic hit last year and tensions have been easing day by day. The other day she suggested we play Ludo like we used to when I was younger. To my surprise it was really fun and stress-relieving and felt like a bonding activity.
Are there other fun games like this you guys would recommend that would help us spend some time together for an hour-ish everyday?
Hey guys and gals,
I would really appreciate your help on a project I'm trying to do, so any advice is welcome! I am trying to make a board game similar ish to Ludo, except I want to make the pawns marbles, so I have a few questions about how to make the board.
Also, I don't have an insane amount of access to fancy equipment. I would have access to some basic power tools like a drill, saw and a sander, and I'd be willing to buy extra parts for those like drill bits if necessary, but just keep that in mind before suggesting I get expensive stuff.
Firstly, how do I drill the holes for the marbles to sit in. Can I use a normal drill bit or do I need something else to make the hole more spherical? I'm guessing that drilling the hole about a 1/4 of the diameter of the marble would be enough for it to sit stable but maybe I'm wrong about that.
Secondly, how would i finish the board? By this I mean a varnish or something. Just something to make the board look nice and protect it from the elements. (Also side note, if I paint the starting positions different colours would this affect the varnish I would use? can you apply that kind of stuff over paint?)
Any other advice or comments are of course welcome! And thanks in advance for taking the time to help me!
After spending 5 years in USA, Iβve moved back to India. One of the things i miss the most is the board game culture that exists in America. I did carry some of my favorite games back home - including Bang, Terra Mystica, Architects of West Kingdom, but couldnβt carry a lot of my collection including King of Tokyo, Legendary, Dogs of war and the like.
Iβve been playing with my friends here after moving back to India and people seem to like it. But board games simply donβt exist in India. Atleast not the modern ones. We do have a few customary ones like Ludo, Snake and ladder and stuff. But i miss playing the highly strategic and competitive games.
There has been an uptrend recently for some games like Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride that are becoming available in Indian malls. But overall, a lot of games are still not available. For me to get a game like Scythe shipped to India, the shipping costs overtake the price of the game.
Iβm looking for a couple of things through this post.
Iβm extremely passionate about board games and would love to see it becoming a culture in the Indian household. Are there any ideas for making board games popular in a particular region. Iβve been brainstorming between holding contests for most common games, vs setting up a board game retail store in my region vs creating a youtube channel explaining the games in the various regional languages, live streaming games with some celebrities. Any suggestions on how it was done in other regions?
What does it take to hold a boardgamecon in India?
What does it take to establish board games as a sporting culture in a region like India?
Letβs say i have a set of 4 people who are committed to work on this and ready to hire more, what should be my next step?
I see life as a board game by itself. After all itβs the most challenging one, ainβt it? My job is to simply play my cards rightπ
I used to play ludo and snake and ladders the most with my family and siblings.
What's yours?
Bonda community lo board games pichi evarikanna unda? Not talking about snakes and ladders, ludo etc. But more like codenames, catan, splendor and all..
Firstly let's just say I know zero about boardgames aside from the basics like Ludo, Cluedo,Monopoly, etc. I see all these cool games that look so complicated but I am sure very interesting yet no one to play with. The issue is the few people I know are not into board games.
I live near a cool boardgame cafe - and filled with envy when I see people playing them.
I have to come to realize, I have NOTHING in common with everyone I know.
EDIT - THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES SUGGESTIONS- I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS SUCH AN AWESOME COMMUNITY. AND HERE WAS I SECRETLY DEPRESSED ABOUT LIFE!! THANK YOU ALL FOR THE ADVICE!!
They said the Risk was too big.
Platform: PC (Played on Windows XP)
Genre: Board Games Suite
Estimated year of release: Late 90s - early 2000s
Graphics/art style: 2D/Prerendered 3D
Notable characters: Players/CPUs whose portrait and name you can customize
Notable gameplay mechanics: It has multiple board games like Backgammon, Chess, Ludo, etc. Players can be identified with different portraits kind of like Mii.
Other details: The background music of the game is kinda jazzy, sort of like elevator music too. EDIT :The title most likely consists of three words and sound generic, may or may not have something to do with "Board Game" or "Game"
Hi all, I have another game I would like to find too. This one came from even further back in my childhood, so the details are even more vague. I hope I can find this one, though. Thanks!
