Do spiders die when they are sucked by the vacuum cleaner? Or do they survive and will eventually walk out of the tube again?

I'm really really terrified by spiders and the only way I have to get rid of them and keep my sanity is by using the vacuum cleaner. After I get them I always suck some pieces of toilet paper to make sure that if they are still alive, they will get trapped between the paper... Is this an efficient technic?

I found this weird military thing in a box of vintage vacuum tubes

I got a bunch of boxes of vintage vacuum tubes from an estate sale. The owner worked for GE and Lockheed Martin for 40 years. I believe he worked on missile systems at some point. The fabric packaging appears to be some military spec quality but that's all I have found so far.

Label says "DOBECKMUN-METALAM *728 - MIL-B-131A, CLASS B, 40LB. LOAD - 500 *F./40LBS./3 SEC."

A rag is stuffed in the bottom of the can and the whole thing kinda smells like kerosene/motor oil.

Does anyone know what this is? Is it dangerous?!? My best guess is its some sort of fuse or spark plug.

Thank you for any info you might have.
