A list of puns related to "List of towns in Saskatchewan"
I posted this fact almost 3 years ago when many said this sub was dead. Thought all the Lacey's of the sub should know!
I'm sure there's a population threshold where somebody wouldn't feel the need to list the county anymore, like for the biggest 10 or 20 cities or so.
Also, is it common to respond with just a county when you're asked where you're from? At least in the US it's pretty common to just say your home state when asked that question.
Just curious!
I have always thought that people have more in common than we do differences, but with the innate divisive nature of our news media and social media, this is easy to forget. In my experience, most Canadians want the same things, there are just variations on how to achieve these goals. I've also found that Thought Experiments, such as the one below, are an effective way of finding common ground, and finding solutions.
What I would like to know is;
In a hypothetical idealists world where a new Party was forming in Saskatchewan, what are the everyday issues that concern you as a citizen? What issues would you like to see your new parties leaders take up?
Let's try to make a comment thread for each issue. I'm going to comment what I'd like to see.
Mods; I don't think this breaks rule 3 but let me know.
I am a lawyer practicing in another province. I have been retained by a client in a domestic proceeding. She says that her ex lives in a place called Co-op, Saskatchewan, and this is where I need to serve him with court papers.
I have looked googled this place and looked at maps but I can't find anything with that name. Is she bullshitting me for some bizarre reason, or is this some remote hamlet that is so insignificant google maps has never heard of it?
If this place actually exists, I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me where it is.
Thanks in advance for answering this weird question.
Being a local here is great! If you're new to Vegas and don't want to spend a lot of money here, there are tons of off strip restaurants that you should try. Here are a few places you should keep in mind. Also, be aware that a ton of these places are open quite late if not 24/7.
The venue is near the north side of the strip, but it's still hot enough that you probably shouldn't attempt to walk too far from the convention center. Vegas is small though, so an uber to most of these places will be $5-$10 for the most part.
Tacos El Gordo - This is one of the closest restaurants to the venue I'd recommend. This place is a real taqueria with some of the best al pastor tacos you could ever find in the world. Greasy, cheap, fast, delicious. If you're a fan, this is a must visit.
Oyster Bar at Palace Station - This is a small bar inside the Palace Station. The good stuff at this place is about $30 after tax and tip but it's good enough to justify it. The main attraction here is a pan roast, which is a new orleans seafood stew with tomatoes, cream, and seafood of choice. The spicier you make it, the tastier it gets. Get it as hot as you can.
Lotus of Siam - This is the most famous restaurant in Las Vegas, and there's a reason why. They serve authentic, amazing Thai food. The menu is massive so try to stick to the back few pages (specifically the northern specialties) and the nam kao tod. A little bit more expensive than other places but so so so worth it. Do NOT come here and get the pad thai.
Cornish Pasty Company - This place is a bit north of the venue but is a nice pub with tasty English pies and games to play.
Chinatown is massive and full of a lot of the best restaurants here and I am not going to do full descriptions of all of them, but here's a quick list of places that are great.
If you want to have an old school Vegas steakhouse meal, go to Delmonico at the Palazzo. Place has never disappointed.
... keep reading on reddit β‘I've had a dream for years, I'd say it's recurring but there's details that make it different each time. But the base of the dream, the looks of places, the events I could swear occured stay the same. When I was a child, I'm almost certain I visited this place in the late 1970s to early 1980s but my parents say they have no recollection of it.
It's definitely a small town, defintely not a city; probably in Northern Indiana, Ohio or Southern Michigan. There's a small viaduct or overpass that leads right into the downtown area. A small downtown area seemingly built in the 1800s by the facade of the mostly brick exteriors. Most buildings were connected and had 3,4 stories at most. There's a restaurant with a lot of wood decor; the walls were paneled, stained glass, dark wood tables and heavy, dark colors accented in cloths and carpets-very 1970's decor. There's a small bar typical of small town bars. One front window, otherwise dark and unremarkable. Long, narrow. I remember very, very little about the bar as I think I was only inside for a few minutes at most. There was a bank, possibly with "Savings and Loan" in its title and it sat on the end of the buildings.
Aside from driving through these towns one by one hoping the restaurant or bar is there and everything is as it was nearly 40 years ago, would there be a way to narrow any of it down? Like a search engine, a map site with old photos or listings for such places, anything that could help me find this locale? I'm totally at a loss and think finding this place could have a huge impact on helping me piece an event in my life together that's dwelled within me for decades.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. It's a longshot I know.
I have a specific case I want this for, but I figured it's a question that plays a fun role in the general or vague form.
Sometimes the fun of exploring random villages and towns (or cities) is uncovering a secret cult of demon/devil/aberration worshipers who you end up fighting, and then being terrified by random, previously friendly NPCs turning on you when you ask them for help investigating the Cult.
What characters make for good "Wait, why would that- Oh shit they're a Cultist!" Moments?
