A list of puns related to "List of sled dog races"
What do you guys think? I'm not certain how to go about putting my plot in a longline and this is currently the best one I can come up with. The plot is as follows.
An hardened old woman from Alaska returns to the racing scene and is given the same path and time slot as an eager to please rookie from the lower states. The two butt heads over how to handle their dogs, whether the race is cruel, and if the other should even be competing. They have to take shelter together and care for their exhausted animals during the course of a storm that has already nearly killed another competitor. When the storm clears, the young woman makes the decision to stay by the old woman's side and refuses to let her take responsibility for a crime she admitted during the storm. The old woman, on the other hand, won't rest until she has absolved herself of her guilt.
Is there a better logline I could use?
Looking for vicious constructive feedback on the first draft of my first half of this story. It is not fleshed out yet but I would appreciate some first thoughts. Thank you!

People who've lived in Ottawa longer than me might remember Ottawa's annual dog sled races. They were a big thing in the 1960's and early 70's. It's hard to imagine teams of dogs racing down Byron Avenue, being cheered on by tens of thousands of spectators. It must have been quite a sight. Newspaper columnist and local historian, Dave Allston, shared some of his research and photos right here: https://kitchissippi.com/2019/03/15/ottawa-dog-sled-races/
