For example, if you go into browser console (hold ctrl+shift and push I probably), and type Date.now()*.001 you get the number of seconds since year 1970 UTC time regardless of what kind of computer you're using. Or if you have it display a picture, you dont have to know anything about video drivers or how many screens are plugged in or if you're wearing a phone strapped to your head through lenses to look 3d.
But many businesses would rather a person manually have to learn how their systems work, go read their cloud computing documents, take classes about it, etc, as if a person is supposed to figure out how to do things instead of a compiler. It could be that the same way you do everything else, it just happens on whatever parts of the internet are specialized in doing those kinds of calcuations efficiently andOr considering price of rented compute resources.
But no, once the trading of compute resources and hoarding of social capital (people who tend to use one system or another) got involved, the compilers didnt work anymore. You needed a different compiler for each system or sometimes small groups of them. If you want to do some things that need parts from multiple systems, you have to use multiple compilers, and then find some way to make those compilers compatible with eachother. You're not just giving it instructions for what to calculate anymore but getting involved in tangled corporate politics. Thats supposed to be a compiler's job. You shouldnt have to know what systems you're using, not for programmers and not for users, and there shouldnt even be a difference between programmer and user other than amount of skill.
Its a technical problem, but more than that, its a problem of not solving it helps some take advantage of others.
I recently saw a video discussing homebrew on the 2DS, and it really piqued my interest since Iβve been curious about homebrew and modding. Most of the Google searches Iβve made, however, have only shown general things you can do with a 2DS (e.g. how to install homebrew on the 2DS). So I came to this subreddit to ask what are some things that I can do with a 2DS? Iβm interested in both software modding and hardware modding.
I just finished my BE and what to help my dad manage the financial aspect our business properly. I have only basic knowledge about accounting. What sort of courses should I consider.
There seem to be a lot of posts on this sub-Reddit of technical issues and problems with ROLI products.
It will be faster resolve and also help ROLI to identify problems so they can fix any issues for the community if you log a support ticket first with them:
My toolkit of things that make my life easier and/or just more comfortable:
Autohotkey - A pretty robust Windows scripting language. I use it mostly for on-the-fly pattern substitution. It's nice to be able to type 'bl1' and have it auto-replace it my bridge line phone number.
Pageant - It took me WAY TO LONG to discover this one. Pageant is a component of Putty. It sits in your system tray, and will let you load SSH keys into it and pass them through to putty, WinSCP, and number of other apps that support it.
Tiddlywiki - A great little person wiki that's just ONE HTML file you run and save locally. Has a bunch of cool plugins. I use it for all my notes at work instead of OneNote. Big plus for me is that is uses tags instead of notebooks.
BlueParrot B350-XT - Over-head Bluetooth headset with 24 hours of talk time. Has dedicated mute button. Great for all day troubleshooting sessions. There are a number of cheaper headsets made by MPOW that have about 12 hours of talk time. Speaker quality isn't quite as good. But if your budget is under $30, MPOW is the way to go.
Rollerblade Wheels for your office-chair - Thes things are awesome for your chairs. They glide around nice and smooth, and in most cases eliminate the need for a chair mat.
Anker USB-C Multi-Device wall charger - Lets you charge 1 USB-C device and four USB-A devices at the same time.
USB Data Blockers - My company recently blocked access to all USB removable storage. The way they do this for iPhones is to disable the iPhone device driver. This has the nasty side effect of disabling my laptop's ability to charge my iPhone. If you use one of these things, the laptop doesn't see the device as an iPhone. It just gives you access to USB power. I can now once again charge my iPhone off my laptop. Also good for security in general when using chargers of dubious origin.
Unicomp Buckling Spring Keyboard - Not really needed. But God do I love typing on this thing. So I just had to point it out. Yes, I'm
I have an iRig 2 HD audio adapter but in order to get a decent sound and no latency I have to set the audio driver in Amplitube to ASIO which disables all other Windows sounds. Is there a way around this? Would a more expensive external sound card solve my issues?
I'll keep updating it as I find more cool stuff:
Free And/Or Open Source Creative Software
Please recommend anything that would be good to add!
I also just want to add. Lets recognize both of these "groups" are not monoliths, and there are varying degrees of thought in each camp. And in 2020 the traditional left/right dichotomy maybe outdated
Basically the title, what does software and hardware mean? Does software mean software engineer and coding related questions or something else? And does hardware mean the inner workings of circuit and ECE related stuff?
I want to apply for the post of network engineer, and does it fall under software or hardware profile?
Basically the title. I have a customer that has a touch screen planar monitor and a PC, and they'd like to be able to mark up a live presentation on the fly. Their point maker died, and we're looking for a different solution.
Hey All! Hope you're excited for the Steam Sale! I finally released my list for VR Hardware support that I've been working on for a little bit. Here it is! BEFORE YOU CLICK just be aware this is a work in progress, ongoing list. I will continue to fix, change, and update this list over time.
-VR HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY LIST-
In this list you'll find a list of games and their extent at which they support different VR Hardware products. The one most of you will care about is the Index Controllers, but currently I also have Vive trackers, gun stocks, racing wheels, HOTAS, and I plan to add more. Please feel free to send me any VR Hardware products you want me to look into which games support.
Let's talk about finger tracking though. There's been a lot of talk recently about what constitutes as "actual Index Controller support". I've decided to break it down into how the game implements the new controllers. If a game "supports" the Index Controllers then that means I saw that game had official support for the new controllers. That does NOT mean a game utilizes finger tracking. For finger tracking I have three categories. Partial, Interaction, and Visual. If a game has Visual highlighted, then you see your hands move. If a game has Interaction highlighted, then that game uses finger tracking to interact with objects. And if a game has Partial highlighted then you don't have full movement of your fingers and might only have a binary open and closed.
So a game that has Interaction and Visual highlighted might be the type of "proper finger tracking" game you guys are looking for.
In this list I also have links to each game's individual communities. That is a work in progress and I will continue to add them as time goes on.
Lastly, this list is in its early stages. I'm sure I've made mistakes and I plan to add more and more games as time goes on. I would love any help I could get! If you see something that isn't correct or have any information about a certain game, please reach out to me or comment below! That goes to devs in here as well. If I don't have your game on my list or I made a mistake, please let me know. Same with any questions or suggestions. I would love the feedback. I want whoever looks at this list to maybe find a new game/community they have yet to hear about before.
Anyways, hope you all have a great one and I can't wait for my Index to
... keep reading on reddit β‘Love the hardware and look of my mate 20 pro but the issue is the lack of software support. I'm in Canada and the first issue is the lack of theme support. You get a few baked in themes but you cant get any of the other themes for the phone which limits its customizability. Second the issue with android 10. Betas were out a few months ago and some have even received the final update. But alas, in canada, there is nothing. If huawei wants to show they are a global company then be a global company. Picking and choosing who gets updated and when is not being a global company. If you are considering moving some operations to Canada then start acting like it. As for me I'm pretty much done and have moved on to a note 10 plus which btw got android 10 last week. Go figure. Lastly it is getting almost impossible to resell the mate 20 pro in canada due to so many people here understanding the issues with Huawei. Gonna have to be a backup phone or an expensive paper weight.
I bought my Pixel a little over a year ago from Google. Never rooted, always kept up-to-date with updates. Recently the wifi had been getting worse and worse. Now it won't find any networks at all, just searching always. I live in an apartment complex, there are usually dozens. I've checked other places as well.

I tried the usually stuff, flipped widi on and off, airplane mode, reboot, safe mode. I called Google support and they said it sounded like a hardware issue and to take it in for a diagnostic at ubreakifix. I did. They said they tried replacing the antenna/receiver and it still didn't work. While he said it must be a motherboard issue, he also said nothing was broken, and expected that Google would release an update as it was just a software issue. I thought that was fairly confusing, but here I am.
What do I do now? I'm surviving because I have decent data but I don't want to rely on that forever. Has anyone had this issue, or know any other solutions I can try? Thank you.
When I was younger I wasnβt bad with computers. Granted, my family was fairly technology illiterate so that wasnβt difficult to manage. But once I got older and computers became more popular and had more going on, I basically stopped bothering to learn anything new.
My issue is Iβm stuck in a dead end job and currently at home with my son just finishing up maternity leave (also live in the UK). Iβd love to start from scratch and learn so that I can not only be more competent in general, but potentially be a more valuable employee.
At home I have a laptop with windows and a MacBook. Are there any online courses or books or anything I can check out in my off time that can make me more proficient?
EDIT: Thank you so much to everyone thatβs responded so far! I really appreciate you taking the time to give me information and I canβt wait to check out these resources, youβve all been amazing and thank you as well to anyone coming after this with more tips. The more the merrier, this sub is awesome!
