A list of puns related to "List of board games"
I think this list is pretty comprehensive, but I'm positive that some were didn't get included. Do you know of any board game cafes that I missed?
https://www.meeplemountain.com/articles/the-ultimate-guide-to-board-game-cafes/
All I can think of are Hanabi and The Crew that are on here.
On yesterday's Twitch VOD (December 31, 2019), NL walks us through what board games/tabletop games he owns. I just thought it would be nice to catalogue it for those who were curious!
There were a couple of others that he can't remember off the top of the dome piece as well. Gotta say I like the selection :)
I've watched several great top boardgames of all time videos.
Like top 50, top 100, etc..
All of them by passionate board game enthusiasts with great lists.
I find it very bizarre that Settlers of Catan (any variant) never makes the list. I find this game has created many memorable moments for several groups I've played with. Is it maybe because it's too competitive like chess? or has it just been overplayed? or are there just better games?
I'm interested to hear someone's take on the reason why.
Hi folks. I thought I would share a list of board game bags that I was able to piece together from various sites. Hopefully this will be helpful to somebody.
This list is in no particular order. I wanted a nice looking bag that would hold up to some use for years to come, so I intentionally did not include the super frugal methods (grocery bags, IKEA bags) or the cheap ~$25 bags where reviews consistently mentioned quality issues with the bags themselves or damage to the board games.
#) Title ($Cost, Tote or Backpack, Straps included, Capacity of standard 12x12x3 games it can carry, dimensions in inches)
1) Board Game Garage ($89, tote, shoulder strap, capacity 6, 17.5 x 13 x 13) - I just bought this because it is supposed to be good quality and will fit Gloomhaven. This was a kickstarter, but you can still buy some bags off their backerkit store.
2) Game Haul Carrying Bag ($47, tote, shoulder strap, capacity 4, 12? x 12 x 12) - one of the cheaper options, it's a bit small and there were complaints about the material quality holding up long term
3) Game Haul Backpack ($57, backpack, backpack & top straps, capacity 6, 18? x 12 x 12) - a backpack version of the previous, this could hold a few more games. But I was a bit leery of the quality, personally.
4) Meinl Cajon Bag ($50, tote, shoulder strap, capacity 6, 20 x 12 x 12) - I almost went with this. It has some padding and a lot of folks swear by them, plus the price point is pretty good.
5) Ultimate Board Gaming Backpack ($200, backpack, backpack & top straps, capacity 5, 16.5 x 13.75 x 12.5) - If money were no option, this could be pretty swell. This to me looks like it was made for going to conventions or if there is something like a board game camping / hiking trip, yeah, you're gonna be set. It's large and the bag has an extension for when you are carrying larger games. But that price point, whoa! Also, I think it is pretty bland aesthetically for $200. (I didn't bother looking too much into getting better pricing, but you can get some colors cheaper on amazon)
6) [Board Game Tabl

Was wondering if any other games got this treatment?
Ive googled it and found that any list of boardgame/tabletop game conventions is really lacking, and any extensive list has lots of other types of cons included. Also many lists are out of date. If there isn't, maybe we can make one here, crowdsource it and pin it? Im in the mid atlantic area so here's what i found near me plus a few others. If I'm missing anything I'd love to know.

As I was watching P22, I noticed something that went over my head at first. During the Graverobber game, Player 2 uses a white cone-shaped piece. According to the color theory and the piece itself, I think its fair to assume that this is Lina playing.
While I believe that color association is a valid reasoning in Petscop, some people find it silly. However, this post isnβt just about color theory. Itβs also about Board Games and Shapes ( Ν‘Β° ΝΚ Ν‘Β°).
Without further ado, here is why I think Lina is the 2nd Player in Graverobber, and one of the two game developers of Petscop.
Checkers and stuff
As we know, only Graverobber was shown during the board games sequence in P22. However, we can associate the boards with different elements in the world of Petscop.
First, letβs point out how the board games are positioned. βGraverobberβ and βCheckersβ are together on top, while βRotationβ and βAccidentβ are at the bottom, with Girlβs hat on top.
βGraverobberβ is obviously about how Rainer dig up the truth about Michael, Lina and a third grave (possibly his own, or Paulβs). While they donβt necessarily represent death, these graves revealed the horrors that Marvin has committed towards his victims. The green text over a black box support this idea. While it is a fully playable game, I think itβs a way to represent these events that were shown throughout the series.
βCheckersβ uses a similar gradient as the gauge that started appearing since P16. I think itβs fair to assume these two are related.
βAccidentβ is also shown at the toolβs entrance. I think itβs a way to represent the association between Care and the player, as well as all events related to that (which includes the needles piano, Paul getting hit by a car, etc.)
Finally, I think βRotationβ is the glue that holds all the pieces together. Hereβs why:
How does it work ?
My theory is that board games are meant to represent in-game mechanics, rules and tricks. The ones at the top were introduced and conceptualised by Rainer, while the ones at the bottom were made by Lina.
Everything related to Graverobber was obviously made for Marvin, thatβs why it sits on top; βI started it in 1996, for Marvin." It includes most of what we see in the videos: The backstories, places, caskets, objects, etc. Basically, the assets of the game world.
Then, we have "Checkers". The orange color represents the secret menu, but also the recordings (The gradient

I now have a filterable list of what I believe to be the top 110 tabletop game reviewers on YouTube. I thought this might be useful for some of you other game designers out there who will inevitably be hoping to send prototypes to some of these reviewers at some point.
You can see total views, total videos, views per video, subscriber count, KS reviewer or not, KS reviews of top 240 most-funded tabletop games, etc.
There's some really interesting data:
https://www.dangergames.co/blog/reviewing-youtube-board-game-reviewers/ or https://www.dangergames.co/blog/reviewing-youtube-board-game-reviewers/#channel-sort to skip the post and jump right to the sortable reviewers list.
Can you think of a channel that we're overlooking? Let me know.
I can't be the only one, right?
Here's my list: Carcassonne - German edition Catan - EU game piece version Catan Geographies: Germany A nice scrabble board (one that spins and the pieces are held in their spots)
Because that would be nice, and I have not yet found such site. I know release dates are not set in stone in board game world, but I would like to have some idea.
Basically I was hoping for some tool that would allow me to point it at my collection, and it would just import my owned games along with thumbnails or something.
Does this exist? Closest I've found so far is http://www.boardgamecaddie.com/, but then they'd still have to enter my username and request the collection. Oh and that's also blocked. Even a PDF would work :P
[edit] I guess I should have clarified, I'm aware of how to take screenshots, etc. :) I'd like to include links in whatever it is, so that they can check them out later if they'd like. This might just be asking too much though, so I'll probably just print to to plain pdf. Thanks!
I'm looking to find a list of board games that are available as computer/video games. I absolutely love board games, however I'm a non-French speaker living in France and all my friends whom I used to play board games with are overseas, so I'm wondering what computer/video game editions are available for what board games? Is there a resource out there?
I have a few on my iPad (Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Stone Age, Puerto Rico, Small World 2), but I'd really like to know what board games are available as computer/video games on any and all platforms out there.
Is there also a "board game" version of Dungeons & Dragons (or other similar) that one can play over internet with select group of friends?
Can you please paste the info of any board game shops in the area? Not Target please. :)
Edit: here is a compiled list of the shops listed in the comments. If I am missing any, or if any errors, please let me know and I will add/fix.

Hey all!
My team are starting to work on a big, multi year project, at the end of which, we're hoping to create a mobile application, that focuses on gamifying the exploration of cultural heritage in small towns in our country.
We're following a gamification development methodology, that emphasises that the playing of games and discussion of their mechanics is instrumental in the ideation phase of our project.
In short, we're going to play a ton of boardgames and see what mechanics seem cool, so that we can learn from them!
We're going to a local board game caffee on friday and want to analyze a lot of games - I need recommendations, which games we should check out.
Ideally, we're looking for games with (VERY) simple, yet interesting/ different/ cool/ wacky/ popular mechanics, that could translate well onto the screen.
Any ideas are appreciated.
I'm from Greece, and many times when I see people's collections from countries with higher wages I ask myself what their approach to boardgaming would be if they weren't in a wealthy country. Of course I'm not talking about extreme poverty but countries like Brazil (although I know there are regions there that face extreme poverty) where from what I know, wages are not high and games are more expensive.
Greece is in the middle ground, basic full time salary is 480 euros -which is not enough to get by by any means- and I am in the middle class with around 1400/month which is considered mid-high salary so I can buy games quite regularly but I have to save for say an 80euros game. So a 50euros game is 1/28 of my wage. For someone else it could be 1/10 of their salary, where I guess they wouldn't even consider buying games at all.
What would you do if you lived in a country like that? Would you approach gaming in a different way, like online only for example? Would you have some prized possessions despite their cost? And what about people who actually live in those countries and are now reading this post, what is the situation there and what can you do about it?
Edit: From the replies I'm reading, there seems to be a misunderstanding that I'm talking about me or Greek people in general not being able to buy games, where this is not the case. As I mentioned above, here things are not too good but not too bad either and I don't have the right to "complain" about me because I'm fortunate enough to have a well paid job by Greek standards.
For example, cards against humanity is mostly talking about funny things, so there is no focus on the cards themselves and if other people watching it without participating they can enjoy it too.
I'm struggling to find this info out there. Any good resources for this info of what's out and what's coming soon? Thanks!
There is no Dana. Only Azul.
Hello, I have recently unearthed the deep, winding cavern that is the world of board/card/dice games. I never knew such scope existed! Scope creates more enjoyable games, however it also results in a hobby can be very financially taxing.
In order for me to purchase games that I hope will be worth my investment, I have started to look for games that have won awards. I have noticed a few games have won multiple awards. Can anyone provide a list of these types of games? For example I know Dominion and Hanabi both have won multiple awards.
I thought I would ask here before doing the work of gathering the multiple award winners together. (Also I find Board game geek hard to navigate.)
I have read the [WSIG] Cheap Games, which encouraged me regarding the games I've already purchased. (Thanks mods!) Is there an a WSIG Algorithm I have missed for awards?
TLDR: Can anyone link me to a list of multi-award winning board games?
I'll start us off with the Deathwatch Corvus Blackstar flyer. What a sexy beast is that thing! Honorable mention: GW's new engagement policy with the 40K community. Total 180!
