Does anyone know of a online symptom checker that lists symptoms and it will then identify which autoimmune disease match up to your specific symptoms?

Kind of like the Web MD symptom checker but specifically related to AI disease. I’ve searched online but can’t find one.

The Autoimmune Registry releases the first comprehensive list of autoimmune diseases with prevalence statistics, disease subtypes, and disease profiles

The autoimmune registry has just released the first complete list of autoimmune diseases. Patients with autoimmune disease can find information about their condition and enroll in the Registry to support research. The list includes well-known diseases like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, celiac disease, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes. There are also dozens of rare diseases like hemolytic anemia, myasthenia gravis, and vasculitis. https://www.autoimmuneregistry.org/autoimmune-diseases

I made the mistake of looking at links between celiac disease and other autoimmune diseases, after I just got glutened.

Long story short, I bought some cashews thinking they were harmless. Ate handfuls of them, felt sick, looked at the back and saw that the cashews were processed on shared equipment with gluten related food.

I feel absolutely defeated. I got diagnosed 8 years ago. And when I got diagnosed, the endoscopy showed my villi completely blunted. I've tried my best to not eat gluten. Sometimes I've gotten careless. I can't eat fresh food everyday as I'm on my own and don't have the time to cook and shop as often as I'd need to.

Then I foolishly looked at several articles about celiac disease and how it is associated with nerve damage. That there is an increased risk of other ailments such as Multiple Sclerosis, and even increased risks for some cancers. The similar symptoms are downright scary.

I'm not in very good shape. I work a desk job and live a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I have a dog I walk as often as I can, and have lost some weight but I'm very unhealthy. After reading so much, it all just made me feel like I was dead already. That before I know it, I'll be afflicted with all sorts or horrible ailments. I can usually tell when I've been glutened but at times, I know I've been glutened but wouldnt have my usual reactions of sweats, toilets trips, and vomiting. Just increased stomach rumblings and gas.

I'm in my mid-30s and feel like I'm significantly closer to death/life threatening diseases than ever before. I won't see a cure or vaccine. I don't know what to do anymore. Sometimes I'm just ready to eat the world's supply of mozzarella sticks and be done with the diet.

I apologize for the rambling. I just have no one and wanted to put it all into words.

Edit: words

Doctor recommended specific diet to prevent progression of potentially fatal autoimmune disease, but my IE dietician doesn't think I am ready to incorporate Gentle Nutrition

So a few weeks ago I spoke with my Intuitive eating/anti-diet dietician about some health concerns and implementing some gentle nutrition and she told me she doesnt think I am ready for that because I havent been super great at eating regular meals. Then this last week I was diagnosed with early stage systemic sclerosis and my doctor recommended a specific diet to hopefully prevent progression of this disease. I asked my dietician about it and she said she will research it and we will talk about it for our next appointment. I have a history of orthorexia and binge eating, so the idea of a restrictive "healthy" or "anti-inflammatory" diet seems really triggering, but at the same time I want to do all I can to prevent progression of my systemic sclerosis because it can lead to kidney, lung, and heart failure.

I have been working really hard on healing my relationship with food and my body over the last few years, including therapy, working with a dietician, reading ALL the books(IE, Anti-Diet, HAES, IE Workbook etc), and listening to ALL the podcasts. I no longer restrict any food groups, but I struggle to feed myself regularly because of other things like time, illness, etc. I guess I am just looking for any advice? I want to fast forward to gentle nutrtion without undoing the work I have done.

CALT granted FDA approval of first drug to treat kidney autoimmune disease

Hey folks. So I'm pretty new to investing & have been trying to educate myself as much as possible. Since I figure there's a lot more experienced folks out here, I was curious on your thoughts on buying Calliditas (CALT) shares, given the good news.

I linked this article. It states that the drug Tarpeyo, is the first & only FDA-approved drug to treat IgA Nephropathy (IgAN): an autoimmune kidney disease that affects thousands. There seems to be some hype here & there about CALT but it seems pretty tame. So I was wondering if I could get some opinions on buying today.

Thanks!

Why does my family seem so chronically ill? Two of which are autoimmune diseases.

I thought there might be some medical professionals in these groups who might give some opinions. I'm not sure if there's any real answer but I thought I'd see what people have to say out of curiosity. I find it weird.

So we are a family of six, my parents, my three younger siblings, and me being the oldest. When I was pretty young my dad was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in his early thirties. Of course, as some of you probably know type 1 diabetes normally is diagnosed when the person's younger but not always. He was pretty devastated by this but has managed. Only a few years later my younger sister (who was the third child) was diagnosed with leukemia (a cancer) at 2 years old. She underwent two years of treatment and is now 13 an considered "cured". Now, little over a year ago when I was 17 I ended up hospitalized and diagnosed with crohn's disease. Crohn's disease can affect people differently depending on the person and mine was sever throughout my whole digestive system. It had caused me to be almost anemic from blood loss at the time.

I just think it's very strange for all these illnesses to pop up within one family. Although, I do assume it's not unheard of at all. One of the weird things though is the first thing you would think is it's genetic. Type 1 Diabetes, Crohn's, or leukemia runs in the family but that's not true for us, none of our recent generations of family members have any history of any of these chronic illnesses on my mom or dad's side. I know it can be generations and generations before an illness pops back up again but even so that is a lot for one direct family. Of course maybe I'm wrong, and it is genetic. I don't know a ton about that kind of stuff but that's why I'm asking. I thought it would be interesting to see what some people's ideas were.

Just a side note, we also have some mental illness and disorders too. I've been diagnosed with dyslexia and adhd. And my brother (second child) has severe anxiety and social anxiety. But in this case severe anxiety is very common amongst my mom's side of the family. As well as she has it, so this makes sense to me. And my dad is not diagnosed but I'm about 99% sure he has bad ADHD. Not sure if he has anyone else in his family that does or not.

Thank you for reading!

Do any of y’all have other autoimmune diseases that flare up at the same time as your RA?

Hi friends,

Got diagnosed & started mtx in August & in the beginning it worked really well. Four months later & I’m slowly starting to see my symptoms creep back up on me.

I’ve had stomach issues for 3+ years & no doctor has ever been able to find out why. Well, I had a big RA flare last summer & coincidentally I had a stool test at the same time that came back borderline positive for inflammation of the bowel. The mtx has also alleviated almost all my stomach symptoms. My doctor is starting to lean back towards a rarer form of Crohn’s that can be hard to diagnose since these two discoveries, but says we need to give it a bit more time.

Anyways, since my RA symptoms are slowly starting to come back, so have my tummy symptoms. Both have been pretty bad the past few days. Does anyone else have multiple autoimmune diseases that act up at the same time, or are they different for you?
