A list of puns related to "List of assets owned by Walmart"
Yesterday the 6 lakh National monetization pipeline was announced where the central government was willing to enter Public-Private Partnership deals of Brownfield assets, by way of monetization, where they would lease government owned warehouses or lands or buildings and charge a certain amount for it for a fixed period of time, GOI also gets the amount in lump-sum so monetization value can be realized quickly and they donβt have to wait decades to see some coin change in the accounts(laymen terms), they also emphasized on βnot sellingβ any of the assets, because you know why, we donβt want hundred more unions blocking roads and protesting, but the incentives to states for their contribution in this was the most interesting part,
For the state owned assets, they gave 3 options:
If they fully disinvest a state owned asset, Union government will give 100% matching amount into the stateβs consolidated fund.
If they list any of the state owned PSU in the stock market, GOI will give 50% of the matching amount of the realized market value into the stateβs consolidated fund.
If the state government is at least going to monetize any of the PSUs like the Central government is also doing, then 33% of the value will be given to the consolidated fund.
Imo, this has great potential which will unlock massive value of languishing assets of the government, 6 lakh crore is no joke, so letβs see how this pans out.
