[TOMT] [MOVIE] [MOCKBUSTER?] DVD cover that had a bunch of random unrelated disney/pixar characters on the front, but the movie itself wasnβt about any of those characters
a few months ago i remember coming across this dvd cover online. it was a white background and literally looked like the characters on the front were cut out from their original movie posters and copied on there. i think there was a Bugβs Life character, maybe someone from Kung Fu Panda or Monsters Inc?? the actual movie wasnβt about any of the characters on the front, it was just to get people to buy the dvd. i have no idea what country of origin or what time period this would be. the title had a very odd name of the main character in it. i think he was a frog or turtle or some kind of monster, but i cant remember completely. help!

What Disney/Pixar characters make you think of a certain Stormlight character?
My kids love Moana (won't lie, it's one of my favorites too), and everytime we watch it, Moana's dad always makes me think of Dalinar.
Also, I suppose Tamatoa might be a chasmfiend with a unique fashion sense. π
Anyone else have similar thoughts?

Mickey Mouse is the most recognised cartoon character in the world, and the symbol of the Disney Corporation, yet Disney refuse to make mainstream motion pictures of him. Why is this? I reckon an origin film with Pixar animation would be great.
Mickey Mouse has not appeared in a movie in a titular role for over 50 years and people love him, simply because he is the flagship of Disney. I was babysitting my cousins wearing a t-shirt of him. My cousins are 8 and 5 and could not tell me anything about him other than his name. Most children would be the same. This is because Disney want to sell princesses and not their original stable. I feel they are missing out on billions of marketing and merchandising dollars here.
It then occured to me that Mickey, Donald etc all have no real origin. Maybe that is why? Because they are just an icon? They can't be turned in to a story? Or maybe they are un-relatable?
The most obvious argument is that Disney are too scared to touch their icon that is beloved by millions. But then why would they have revived Star Wars? - They did a great job with that so I can't see why a Mickey movie wouldn't be if it was done with love. I'd love to see this done.
It just seems really weird to me that Mickey Mouse has been left largely untouched for decades when his face is plastered on every single thing at Disneyland.

Tin Toy (1988) was the short film which inspired Disney to produce Toy Story (1995) with Pixar. Some of the toys from the original short were featured in the Sunnyside Day Care in Toy Story 3 (2010), while the titular character makes a cameo appearance in Toy Story 4 (2019).
