How do you make mechanized landing gear/ramps that stop moving when they reach the planet's surface (instead of exploding ;-)?
Curious about various approaches to this problem. Seems like you can "tune" the forces in the pistons/rotors, but this would have to be redone every time the ship's/cargo's weight (ergo, gravity) changes. Are there sensor or mechanism based approaches to solve this? Can scripts determine altitude relative to the local terrain? What about building some kind of suspension?

With how obsessed I've been over Sentient gear lately, I'm reminded of an old Loadout addition I've wanted for quite some time: Landing Craft.
If you're like me, and really get into faction skins, then you probably have designated loadouts for each.
Now take the Sentient Scimitar. Something I never use due to my excessive conditioning to just using the Liset Prime because changing a bunch takes effort (we all a bit lazy). And I'd really like to use it with Sentient frames/skins. It just looks right.
I think it would be awesome if it were possible to have Landing craft Selections (and perhaps other vehicles) be loadout hot swappable, enabling variety however you'd like.

[spoiler] the landing craft
If you already read this ignore it this got taken down. When we became the drifter in the new war we saw the massive thing that holds the foundry and everything else. I never realized that the landing craft and the orbiter werenβt the same thing. Somehow I thought that everything fit in there but obviously not. Please tell me that I am not the only one who didnβt realize that. Also I think it is super cool that they gave us the option to keep the drifters camp as a base. I just wish I could switch ordis back to before new war state.

Whenever I see a different angle from the landing craft, I dream of more depth and details in-game. Even a mini-game with these ships would be cool. Maybe we could even see the orbiter from the outside.

Should I upgrade my landing crafts to LVL 15?
Hi, Iβm currently HQ 15 and I have LVL 14 landing crafts. Iβm using Smokey warriors for offence and LVL 15 landing crafts only give you one more riflemen. Should I still upgrade them so I have maxed offence or focus on my gunboat?
