#433 LCD Soundsystem-Sound Of Silver
Sometimes listening to albums is like going to a wine tasting. Some people get different experiences than everyone else. Oh you getΒ hints of chocolate and cherry from the Cabernet. Well, I get an earthy taste with a vanilla aftertaste. I think the same can be said about LCD Soundsystemβs second album. The influences are so scattered and plentiful here that I think what I hear might be vastly different than yours . No other band has mixed EMD and rock music better than this. βNorth American Scumβ has the energy of a late 70βs punk band mixed with modern dance music. The closing track βNew York I Love You But You are Bringing Me Downβ would fit perfectly in a Velvet Underground album. βSomeone Greatβ might be the most upbeat breakup song ever recorded.Β Β In just nine tracks James Murphy and company successfully makes each track different from the next. It is quite impressive. So what flavors do you get from this album?Β ObviouslyΒ Rolling Stone felt this fine album didnβt age well it had Sound Of Silver at #395 in the 2012 list thatβs a 38 album drop.

Just over a year ago, LCD Soundsystem released their first album since their disbandment in 2011 entitled American Dream. What do you think about it now that we're just over a year removed from its release?
For years Iβve seen that name as a headliner for pretty much every festival. Are they that good? Are they any good at all?
Hey yall, /u/tedcruzcontrol here stepping in for /u/ReconEg , who's moving today
Every first random Wednesday of the month whenever /u/ReconEG feels like, we play
Whose Line is it Wednesday, where everything's made up and the points don't matter.
Here's the rules:
-Keep skits in the form of a statement, not a question.
-Any skits longer than two lines should be in quotations.
-If you add any additional commentary, put the skit in quotations. If you don't understand the concept, a skit looks like this: "Things less pretentious than Father John Misty"

this is an unofficial discussion for reactions to the album or whatever your little heart desires. this is for the sake of preserving discussion on as many albums as possible. if there's any releases for the week (or in general) that may be of interest missing from the schedule either PM me or leave a comment somewhere and i'll add it.
Voting for the 2010 portion of the 2010-14 Chart nominees will begin on Monday June 25, 2018. In the two weeks leading up to that date, we will have a daily campaign stop, where we will go through the albums a few at a time and let users discuss their thoughts on each album and debate the merits of it making the chart. There will be one top level comment per album, respond to that instead of making another top level comment. Be respectful of others opinions and take the time to listen to any albums that pique your interest.
Remember that of the group of 90 albums from 2010 we are examining, that 15 will get onto the chart in this round of voting, with those finishing #16-50 moving on to the final round of voting.
