Karolina Dean Puns

This is a weird matchup, I don't know if these characters have ever met in the comics. I think the only reason why its setup this way to give someone for Emma to actually beat, as Karolina is under leveled compared to a typical Crash. I guess they both sparkle? So that is a connection. It is doable with low level characters, last time it ran (which I think it was the first time) people did it with 2 covers.

Emma Frost is a support character. Her purple (10ap) creates a repeater (3 turns at one cover, 2 turns at 2+) that destroys enemy protect/strike/attack tiles (2 at 1-3 covers, 3 at 4 covers and 4 at 5 covers). Her black (11ap) fortifies tiles (1 at one cover, up to 6 at 5 covers) and while there are fortified tiles she gets diamond skin and does extra match damage (150% at one cover to 325% at five covers) but cannot fire any powers. Finally her yellow (8ap) creates a repeater tile that places strike tiles, and improves them.

Karolina is only level 215 with a measly 11169 health. Her yellow (6ap) creates 2 strength 33 protect tiles, if she has runaways on her team she creates more but that doesn't apply here. Also when an ally is healed she improves healing by 15%, also not applicable. Her blue (6ap) places a 3 turn fortified countdown tile, that creates a strength 37 protect tile each turn and generates 2 blue app when it goes off, while this countdown is on the board Karolina is airborne and switches to Sunset Strip, a passive that if there are more than 5 friendly protect tiles at the start of a turn, she removes her countdown tile and converts 3 protect tiles into strike tiles. Finally her green (8ap) does 1009 damage to the enemy team. If there are two or more friendly special tiles, then heal allies for 146 burst health.

For Emma ideally you want to fire your purple and yellow and then your black to fortify them and then just let the repeaters do the work and watch your match damage increase until you finish her.

This can potentially be a very long fight. Prioritize yellow, then black, keep an eye on her green and also get purple. And as I said wait to trigger your black until you have your repeaters out. If you are lower level you will want to prioritize green. Higher level Emma's won't have to worry as much as Karolina's green does damage but its not like its a ton of damage. Let her get blue as every time she goes to the sky you can get extra matches and clean up the board. If she gets some protect tiles, you purple will help clean them u

Let it be known that I am beyond stoked to finally have an LGBT (main) character in the MCU. Most have been total cop outs, like directors or actors saying after the fact that a character is gay, even though it’s never alluded to in the movie or show. (Mantis? Valkyrie?) Anyway, as a huge fan of the Runaways comics, I am mostly pleased with the show thus far. Virginia Gardner is too cute, and plays Karolina pretty spot on imo. I’m sort of curious where her storyline will go and wanted others’ thoughts. I’ve read two different articles now that say she’s going to get involved with Nico...No idea how accurate they are, but I would kind of love that. Sure, it hasn’t happened in the comics, but the show has made some pretty significant changes so far and I don’t hate it.

Thoughts? Karolina is obviously in love with Nico in the comics, and I’d argue Nico has feelings for her as well based on things she’s said and done, but a relationship has never come to fruition. In the show, Alex definitely likes Nico, but maybe they are baiting us with that much like they are doing with the Karolina x Chase interactions? Hmmmm.

Karolina Dean (Occasionally referred to as 'Lucy in the Sky') is an Earth-raised Majesdanian descended from a pair of alien criminals. After discovering her parents were taking part in a series of ritualistic murders, she learnt about her powers and the truth of her heritage, and ran away. Karolina and her friends hid out for several months, working first to take down their parents' organisation, the Pride, then to hold off the villains who sought to take advantage of the power vacuum once they were gone.

Karolina's power comes from the sun. Like all Majesdanians, she can absorb and manipulate solar energy; although this does mean that she can run out of power if she overuses her abilities at night, or anywhere else without sunlight.

Karolina carries a bracelet made of a material that suppresses her powers. Originally she needed it to go out and about without lighting up like a glowstick, but after spending some time on her homeworld she learned to better control her powers and became able to turn the glow on or off at will.

I just wanted to voice my hatred of this HB........

Mine is currently training to L6, as I've been busy and stuff, but I feel like she might be the best new release in a really long time.

Who are people finding synergy with, for Karolina? My first thought after getting her to Level 2 was Ms. Marvel, for spammable Rally and energy attacks.

I've found that Hp/Attack/whatever iso's are the best for her, since she naturally refills her Stamina all the time, though I'm still unsure about E and A iso's.

I personally love Karolina Dean (KD for short) ever since their Runaways S-Ops, and today I've teamed my KD with AoU's Iron Man and Beta Ray Bill for the current Daily Mission, and because of their skill sets KD earns her Empyrean Energy pretty fast. (A I SAY THEE NAY!!! from BRB already gives her 3x Empyrean Energy..)

And all KD has to do is to use her Empyrean Flare (aka Shinku Hadouken) to clear the opposing team.

Ok, so, on the face of it, this subject line is ridiculous...BUT...

I'm Level 212...and am making my way through trying to "catch up" and everyone is saying that I should get Heroic Age Iron Fist. Great! NO problem...and I'm about to hit enough CP to recruit Gambit to get through that chapter... BUT...Karolina Dean just hit. Should I get her first and go back to re-earn for Gambit?
