> We all work hard, everyday, to bring content to Al Goreβs internet. It can exhausting but always rewarding.
> One of the best things about this job is actually enjoying the company of your peers and the work we do. Building those relationships to have fun with each other, to joke around. You donβt see that at a lot of jobs. Iβve worked in a lot of unhappy places.
> Most people leave their job and never wanna see their coworkers again. We actually have a fun place and that energy goes back out into our work.
> After hustling hard to deliver content all week, itβs always amazing to be asked, especially as an editor, to be in a video so that for at least an hour, we can decompress and enjoy ourselves amongst our peers. A break from the routine. Blow some steam.
> So when people start stomping their feet and frowning when certain faces appear in videos. I dunno....maybe understand thereβs more to it than you initially think? Always wanna entertain, and you deserve to be entertained, but...
> Iβve seen a lot of people say we help them through so much in their life and itβs a kind of therapy. This is also therapy for us. Can we do it together?
> And Iβm sure Iβm preaching to the choir here, but pass it forward or keep it in mind when youβre running things one day. Iβm terrible at games, and I donβt ask to be in videos because the director in me knows we have way more talented people to do it, but when they ask?
> Damn right Iβll do it cause I really enjoy the bonding time with my team.
Some of the funniest moments on the channel have come from the editing team being on camera. I think anyone who is upset if someone is bad at a game on this channel is missing the point entirely.
How can I get better so I can get to Duke. Iβm pretty good but I know how good I have to be. What are things I can approve on like diet, footwork, etc? How do I get ranked to get exposure. Iβm ready to work hard.
I am reasonably well read on Stuart England and Early Modern Europe in general, but I just finished the final volume of Churchill's "Marlborough: His Life and Times." I started it as a Churchill fan, but ended up staggered at the accomplishments of the Great Duke.
I know Churchill was biased. Churchill admits his bias repeatedly, but Marlborough never lost a battle, never lost a siege, and supposedly never lost a gun, or a stand of colours, at least not for a whole battle.
I was amazed he did this within the constraints of an incredibly complex command structure where he had please or appease or simply trick the Dutch and numerous other allies. And then he had to defeat the French and then fight off his enemies in Parliament.
But compared to the other "Great Captains" Marlborough seems almost forgotten. I am just curious about the opinion of members of this subreddit about the Great Duke.
I had to write a poem for a literature class I am taking, and I thought the sub might be interested in seeing it.
Have a great day!
