How were teenagers going into battle and not only surviving but actually doing well and winning in medieval times? For instance Edward the Black Prince was barely 16 at the Battle of Crecy

This seems absolutely crazy to me, how would a 16 year old have the physical strength and even the experience to fight against some of the older and more experienced people. What's crazier is that he was the heir to the throne, why in his right mind would his father even allow such a thing?

How was the relationship between King Edward III and his son, Edward of Woodstock (the Black Prince)?

How was the relationship between King Edward III and his son, Edward of Woodstock (the Black Prince)? I know many English Kings, like Edward I for example, had a kid who utterly failed to live up to what they had wanted for them. It seems like Edward the Black Prince was a chip off the old block, from what I read, he was a good warrior and commander, and helped his father a lot during the wars in France. Was their relationship good?

Why is Edward the Black Prince typically depicted in full plate armor, but without a visor (as in his burial effigy)?

Is this just an artistic conceit to show his face, which has erroneously been adopted by subsequent artists to depict him on the battlefield? Or was this actually typical of armor at the time? If so, why would a knight wear full metal plate but not a face covering?
