It doesn’t let me sleep at night
All this week Ive been listening to John Grant on the radio and was thinking, why did they chose this guy for pride week special? And the more I listened to him I was like yeah this guy is way cooler than I thought! His DJ selections are fire! Then I realized who I thought was Misty was Grant. Grant's voice sounded pretty similar to Mitsy's to me from what little I've heard of it. Both fantastic enunciation. So, who would you prefer to read you a bed time story?
John was recently interviewed about the Anthopocene Reviewed and his other works on the (5 star) podcast WorkLife with Adam Grant. Adam's an organizational psychologist, and I really enjoyed listening to his ideas on the human experience from an academic perspective compared to John's perspective as an author. I highly recommend giving it a listen if you've never listened to this podcast before.

WHO: John Grant is a singer/songwriter who grew up in Michigan and Denver, the latter of which is where he'd form the band The Czars, whom he had a lengthy run with from 1994 to 2006, with Grant taking a break from the music industry from the end of the band until 2010, when he reemerged under his own name with the debut solo album Queen of Denmark, continuing on with even more albums like 2013's Pale Green Ghosts, 2015's Grey Tickles, Black Pressure, 2018's Love is Magic and...
WHY: His latest solo album, Boy from Michigan, which is out June 25th via Partisan/Bella Union. It was produced by Cate le Bon and so far, he's released the singles "The Only Baby", "Boy from Michigan", "Rhetorical Figure" and "Billy" from the album, all of which you can stream right now on Bandcamp. You can also check out the music videos for "Boy from Michigan" and "Billy" on John's YouTube channel, both of which were directed by Casey & Ewan. He'll also be touring throughout the UK and Europe starting this summer, tour dates and tickets for which can be seen/bought on his website.
