A list of puns related to "Joe Sacco (ice hockey)"
People are saying they want Joe Sacco fired just because the powerplay is struggling lately. It can be seriously frustrating how reactionary you guys are without even attempting to do any research to back up your snap judgements.
In 2021 Joe Sacco is currently coaching a tight race for the #1 PK in the league. The PP currently is close to average at 17th.
Here's what the PP looked like in the past few seasons:
2016-2017 - 7th in the league
2017-2018 - 4th in the league
2018-2019 - 3rd in the league
2019-2020 - 2nd in the league
Here's what the PK looked like in the past few seasons:
2016-2017 - 1st in the league
2017-2018 - 3rd in the league
2018-2019 - 17th in the league
2019-2020 - 3rd in the league
Anytime since 2016 that either special team has dropped below top 5 in the league, the other special team was in the top 3. I would also like to point out just how great last season's special teams were. 2nd and 3rd in the league is nothing short of phenomenal.
Ice hockey in Japan started in the 1920s. Teams have been competing in the All Japan Championships since 1930, making the tournament one of the oldest sporting competitions in the country.
Professional hockey arrived in 1966 with the Japan Ice Hockey League. Originally a five-team league, the JIHL expanded to six teams in 1974 and stayed that way until tough economic times led to budget cutbacks and eventually the demise of the league in 2004. The 38-year-old JIHL was abandoned in favor of Asia League Ice Hockey which still exists today. Teams like the Nippon Paper Cranes had good success in hockey (until Covid lead to financial difficulties).
Came back to the game after an 11 year hiatus and it feels so good, like coming home. As soon as I put the gear on I feel like a kid again.
Four games in and Ontario is closing indoor recreational hockey again due to our virus friend COVID. Here is to hoping any fellow Canadian goalies wonβt be off the ice for too long. Canβt wait to get back out there.
