A list of puns related to "Joe Ingles"
Following this play: https://streamable.com/2dzqdx
Edit: For the sake of clarity--this play happened at the beginning of the game, Ingles got pissy about it, continued to yap at the refs for the next quarter, and then got the 2nd tech.
Ingles picked up a second technical for barking at the referees during a timeout and was ejected from the game.
It is his 3rd ejection this season.
He got his first tech for elbowing Jarrett Allen. He then got another tech, which he was ejected for.

> Ingles is a name to watch up to the trade deadline; in spitballing sessions, a lot of rival executives have wondered what the Jazz might be able to get in exchange for Ingles and a first-round pick. Ingles is on an expiring contract, and has lost maybe an eighth of a step. > > He's not as airtight on defense anymore. He basically only takes 3s; he has attempted 14 free throws all season. He's a really good passer, but his assists are down and his playmaking doesn't feel quite as essential as it once did with Mitchell, Conley, and Clarkson all getting tons of minutes. Quin Snyder may want to experiment with Rudy Gay in a larger role. > > I'd bet against Utah trading Ingles -- he's good, and a foundational piece of their culture -- but I'd keep my eyes on it.
Just speculation, but with the trade deadline approaching it makes some sense. Ingles has looked super checked out lately - last night was the apex for sure, but it's been ramping up throughout the season.
Joe has a young family here, he's put down roots, he has an autistic son who would probably hate a move...I think he was probably banking on staying here until he retired. More than most players, a trade elsewhere would mess with his life.
Maybe it's nothing, but both his play and attitude have been uncharacteristic lately. Makes me wonder if he knows something's in the works.
I understand this sounds crazy at first glance. Ingles was runner-up for 6MOTY last year, was the most efficient non-center in the league last year (and is still extremely efficient this year from the field), and heβs one of r/nba darlings, but Utah would be better off in the future if they moved on from him.
We all know why the Jazz lost last year. Rudy Gobert was exposed defensively and was made a liability by the Clippers playing 5 out in the second half of game 6.
Gobert wasnβt exposed though. His teammates were getting blown by all game which forced Rudy to step up in the paint, which led to open threes.
In this play, Portland is running a 5 out to end the quarter. Simons gets past Ingles quite easily after a few dribble moves, and with the space floored out and Ingles behind Simons, this gives Simons (dunk contest winner) a easy lane to the basket.
As soon Ingles is blown by, Gobert steps into the paint to contest Simons. With Gobert in the paint, and the Blazers running 5 out, the center is open for three.
The center, Reggie Perry, gets a three point shot with no contest, and it slightly rolls out of the basket. Heβs a hardship contract player.
This play shows Utahβs biggest problem.
Ingles is 34, heβs not getting any younger or faster. His lateral quickness is a major issue and it was a major issue in that aforementioned Clippers game. If they play Ingles in the playoffs, heβll become a target and plays like this will continue to happen, and if the player left open hits their shots, itβll end up very much like that clippers series.
Now, one argument against this is that Ingles shooting and playmaking is needed. Not necessarily. His minutes can be replaced by Rudy Gay and Bojan Bogdanovic, who are also extremely capable shooters, and his playmaking can be replaced by Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell, and possibly Jared Butler, who was a very good playmaker and defender in college.
I know heβs had a lot of memories in Utah, but with the current roster, itβs time to let Ingles go. I would say to just release him, but he probably still has some value due to his usually good play. If you get a solid asset for him, that would make things even better, but thatβs a story for another day.
There's been tons of rumors that his name is on in the trade block, and with the Jazz getting destroyed last season by the Clippers wing players, could Jerami Grant be a fit there in an ultra specific role?
Or are they going to keep the team as is?

Really good interview with Ingles explaining why Gobert is an elite defender. Anyone that doubts his abilities, go watch a veteran in the league and one of his teammates who really knows the game of basketball explain why Gobert is underrated, yet still one of the most dominant defensive figures in the game right now.
>Iβll bring the kids colouring in book tomorrow for you
>Anybody got any good book suggestions?
>Jordan Clarkson came into his post game media session with a Bud Light in hand, suggested maybe that the vomit guy drink something a little lighter, like a Bud Light.
>Jordan Clarkson: "I dunno he was just throwing up β continuously. ... To the kid, we've all had nights like. ... I Hope he's good. Drink a little juices, electrolytes, drink water and stuff. Tomorrow he'll be straight. Everybody been there before."
>Jordan Clarkson: "Shout out to the cleaning crew because I definitely wouldn't have cleaned it up. It would have probably stayed there for a long time if I was brought in."
Sheeesh even JC getting jingled lol
>Now use some of that money to get some furniture in pic #2 π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ @joshgiddey
>OFFICIAL: OKC Thunder rookie and #6 overall pick Josh Giddey has signed with Nike.
Loool no one is safe
** Meant to say "shoving"**
I genuinely don't understand why this wasn't even considered? If you look at the play he runs across the entire court getting himself unnecessarily involved and shoved a REF who was not looking. He clearly sees the person he is shoving is a ref.
Shouldn't a ref be protected? How is this not worse than what Jokic did? It's intentional, unprovoked, it's a ref, and the ref did not see it coming.
I am a Nugget fan (who likes Joe) and have ZERO issue with Jokic getting suspended. I am just perplexed as to why I saw little to no discussion on this action which to me seems so much more outrageous.
edit: I am not a snitch! I keep my mouth shut but I know a lot of people I could name who are snitches. DM me go find out.

>.@FurkanKorkmaz watched @MatisseThybulle's Olympic run:

>I think he had a new best friend, Joe Ingles (@Joeingles7), which I was a little jealous of. Iβm going to ask him about this."
Loool this is some r/nbaww material
>We love having @MatisseThybulle, but you can have him back now @FurkanKorkmaz!
>He had it all! Defender, Playmaker, Shooter!
Matisse reacts to this exchange between Korkmaz and Ingles
>Stop you guys are gonna make me blush π
Somebody bring in the guy who wipes down the loads, cause the Chemistry Teacherβs play last night just triggered a reaction in my Down Under.
But in all seriousness. He did play 26 minutes last night which is just shy of his season average last year of 27.9. I think not having enough guzzoline left in the ole war rig played a big part in his post season struggles, and I wonder if his regular season minutes totals should go down a bit, or if the team should rest him every few games.
We need the Adelaide Lemonade to be as fresh as possible come April.
