A list of puns related to "Integrated water and power plant"
Hello I'm currently researching global warming and with the rising sea levels it seems like the nuclear power plants on the east coast of America would flood. And I'm just wondering what would happen? How long would the radiation set? What would be the effects on the surrounding wildlife in the newly flooded waters?
Everyone who is doing their upmost to keep our infrastructure in the country running carry on keep it up, many thanks.
With some of the nice new features of Ranching Mk 2, I decided to play around a bit during my standard playthrough with liquid cooling. My current world has a Cool Slush Geyser, which this strategy works well with.
Leaving aside the "why" for now, allow me to present the design.
The new Radiant Pipes double the base conductivity of the raw material used in their construction - which is Refined Metal. Taking the recent change to conductivities into account, even piped-in Polluted Water can rapidly cool operating machinery!
How do we know when to change out the pipe's water? That's what the spangly new Automation sensors are for!
Now for the automation overlay.
How does this work? The right-most Liquid Pipe Thermo Sensor is connected to a nearby Natural Gas Generator (via Gold-based Tempshift Plate) and is set to go Active when the pipe's contents warm up past -5 C, which would indicate that the Generator has warmed significantly. When this occurs, the system triggers a change in coolant, emptying the pipes and bringing in fresh coolant from outside the system. By using a Memory Toggle, the system will continue to cycle coolant after the pipes have been cleared.
Of course, the question is when to stop cycling coolant by clearing the activated Memory Toggle. This requires its own Memory Toggle with both inputs connected to more Liquid Pipe Thermo Sensors - both of which need to be attached to Radiant Pipes so that they'll rapidly respond to the new coolant as it arrives. The general rules used:
Finally, the basic build view.
Note that the coolant loop is blocked on both ends by Liquid Shutoffs attached to the 'cycle command' automation signal wire. We want to minimize the amount of time that fresh coolant is exposed outside of the loop, allowing us to save coolant for use in other locations.
For those curious about the "why," note that most Generators in the game output their byproducts at the temperature of the Generator. This means that my Na
