A list of puns related to "Individual sport"
I like to browse multiple different nba team subreddits just to see whatβs going on with their players but itβs seems like the majority of the time people are either just trash talking their own players or saying βF the Lakersβ with top awarded and upvotes.
Do most people stay out of these subreddits because itβs seems like most of them are just full of toxic people?
I'd also like to point out how disgusting this bill is; you're literally inspecting the genitals of children. Pedo rape shit 101. Conservatives are always whining about the government interfering with their liberties and freedom yet they'll support shit like this which directly infringes privacy and liberty. It sounding like cishet conservatives are more of a danger to children than trans people are. Honestly how can we be justifying these bills? Disingenuous fucks just finding new scapegoats to be transphobic. I'm so tired of this shit.
I obviously understand that gymnastics is both an individual and a team sport, with an emphasis on the individual (in elite).
When I see a gymnast post a skill or an upgrade on social media and see all the other elites chime in with complete enthusiasm, I do believe thatβs genuine.
However, as a HIGHLY competitive person myself (though Iβve never been competitive in gymnastics), I wonder if any little part of them is like, βOh, crap.β
Any insight? Can you be supportive AND worried/envious at the same time?
President Biden's Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation expands protections against discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation. Section 1 states the policy the order is based on, and at one point states the following:
" Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports.Β "
This sentence is being taken by some sources (here, here, and here just off the top of a google search) to mean that it is now illegal to prevent a transgender student from participating in a sports team of their stated gender. I make no claim to the validity of the sources, only that it is a claim being spread.
Given that section 1 seems to state the 'spirit' of the order rather than giving concrete directives, and section 2 does not mention sports, or even schools specifically, would this Executive Order give a transgender person legal ground to challenge a decision made by a public school to prevent them from joining a school-sponsored team of their stated gender?

Full quote:
"I always think that individual awards in the world of sports are very subjective. I donβt believe too much in them nor am I a supporter of them. What Iβm clear about is that, more than for me, that award was for the Grizzlies. It was for a way of working together. I was important in the outline, but Tony Allen should be in the conversation too. What matters now is next yearβs DPOY, and heβs 35, but a player like him can win it without any problems if thatβs what heβs missing"
From an interview on a catalan website. Didn't seem annoyed at all about it, but I'm glad he isn't being a total pushover and is defending his team :)
Haha Za Warudo
Looking on twitter and its crammed with half calling the other half transphobic for not thinking its right for a trans individual to play in their genders sport team.
They shouldn't.
Listen, I'm all for trans rights. No one should be discriminated on for just being themselves. And in a way, I do sympathise with the issue. They shouldn't have to throw away their dreams of competing solely because they are trans.
But the rest of the sporting community shouldn't have to settle for second place to accommodate them. There's just a fundamental difference between men and women that transitioning isn't going to solve. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but its the truth.
There's a reason why the world records for deadlifts in powerlifting are 1100lb for men and 680lb for women. With similar gaps for every other main compound lift.
I'm keep seeing the argument "but there will always be someone stronger", yes that is true. Its why records are always broken. But it doesn't account for why there is such a difference between male and female records and for the most part always has been.
To let someone with such a high natural advantage is just telling everyone else who dedicated their lives to training to settle for second place. Or, on the other hand, they will never be able to compete with their team mates because they'll have a high natural disadvantage.
Ideally, there should be separate teams, one for trans men and one for trans women. That way its fair for everybody. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there's just not enough trans people for it.
Any advices? Thank you!
Making sweeping generations here but as someone who plays on a local no-name soccer and baseball team and been into both sports since I was a kid, I watched Coach Carter and I find so many parallel to my years of playing Association Football and the All American Game. The emphasize on obedience and importance of hierarchy as well as heavy use of coordinated formations, specialized positions, and so on shown in Basketball in the movie I definitely recognized from soccer and baseball.
So it makes me wonder just how much team sports have a military like structure esp in comparison to individual sports like Tennis and even fighting sports from boxing to MMA?
The way soccer have formations like clusting together in one block as the entire team moves together in the style of a Spartan Phalanx never ceases to awe me at how much sports is like the military!

>it took the organizers three Olympics to realize that a person swimming alone cannot be synchronized with anyone else.
did RIB know? because I'm pretty sure roz is supposed to be a joke
edit: it's not in the olympics anymore, but it's still an event in swimming world championships etc. enjoy 2019 gold
